  1. Is he full Russian or assessed Russian? Surely you should be having a go at Peterborough too? And Ipswich for signing Emil Sayfutdinov? Singling out Glasgow seems strange. Find it hard to hold a citizen of a country responsible for the actions of its Government, I certainly wouldn’t want to be held responsible for the shower we have governing this country.

  2. I know sport and politics should not be mixed but as an I am appalled that Glasgow have signed Russian rider. As far as I am concerned every point he and his uncle take is stained with Ukrainian blood. Shame on the BSPL for sanctioning it.

  3. Gave up on a club? What a ridiculous statement. The vast majority of Redcar fans and the management of Redcar speedway would say that’s tosh. He took advantage of an opportunity to ride in the top league in the world and circumstances (injury to Woffy) meant he was called up to a meeting on a day when Redcar had a meaningless (in terms of the play offs) fixture. Some Bears fans have already set up a go fund me for him, so they don’t think he’s “given up” on Redcar. Yes it’s awful timing for the Bears (and Belle Vue) but that’s insignificant compared to his health, He’s suffered some horrific injuries and is likely to be in hospital for some time. If you’ve seen the crash you’ll see it’s nothing to do with his riding style and just a speedway accident. Get well soon Charles, a brilliant servant to Redcar speedway.

  4. He replaced a rider that had left the club not one we sacked . I love the meltdown on this signing, even if it was another club it would still have been hilarious how much of a strop some are having over this signing, especially you.

  6. First of all well done to Scunthorpe who battled all night. I have said it a few times but why in earth did the Poole management chose Scunthorpe over Redcar? Couldn’t believe it when the choice was made nd thought they had seen something that I had missed. Alas no and tonight Pirates have made themselves a mammoth task now to get through to the final. Did they not see Douglas is virtually unbeatable at WR? Again tonight he proved to be the best riser around our track. Almost untouchable. And they had Kemp at reserve who did as expected. Throw in an unfit Zach, and Ben taking a real purler and the risk was there. To be fair Scunthorpe seemed to be wanting it more. Battled all night and were faster out of the traps. Making the track slick today didn’t help. Where was all the dirt from a couple of weeks ago? Full credit to Scunthorpe.

  7. Something along the lines of. Allegedly Vadim Tarasenko has a low average and we are appalled.

  12. Pathetic. You're either on here to score points off the war or trying to question the character of someone whose spoken out against it. Either way both options are beyond the pale and beyond contemptible

  16. All the pressure been taken off him. Riding as second string, no longer captain then get 3 points. Not good enough. Fair play to Oxford, every rider having their moments, think gates went against us in 13 and 15 but deserved winners.

  17. Still doable for the aggregate point all hinges on how both perform against Redcar. And also Redcar will fancy there chances although Wright is irreplaceable at home. Group still wide open. . But 3 from Brennan just isn’t good enough.

  18. Just about to say the same should’ve stuck a BV race bib on him in heat 14 he might not have went backwards. Important we keep to no more than 8.

  20. I think this is the balanced opinion. I would have been more hardline in 2022 but realistically people like Laguta, Emil and Tarasenko have said what they can. I’m sure Poland isn’t in the business of handing out passports Willy-nilly right now either.

  21. I understand and agree with your position to an extent however we've got to be realistic here. If you were Russian would you come out publicly and denounce a despot who thinks nothing of bumping off dissenters? Not sure i would. His statement is as clear as he can probably safely (for him and his family) be. He has strong links to Poland so there's no reason he shouldn't race on a Polish licence.

  23. Which doesn’t come cheap. Not sure where aepg think they are getting the money from to cover the costs of that, you need electrical engineers to disconnect all electrical stuff. You need asbestos specialists to do the roof plus a team of mechanical engineers to do the structure, that’s a big job to take that down, won’t come cheap

  24. I would support both of those ideas completely.

  25. First League rides in 1970, last ones in 1994, a number 1 for many of them seasons, World number 2 in 1978! Gordon Kennett had one hell of a career so legendary status is very justified!

  26. We've seen some absolutely fantastic Speedway on BSN over the last few weeks from Glasgow, Redcar, Oxford, Sheffield & Peterborough... All good things must come to an end though I suppose

  27. I'm appalled that the British Government, more factually the Conservative Party have received tens of millions in Russian bung money directly from Putin and his cronies. Worse still enobled an oligarch son of an ex KGB Official. As for Vlad, Emil and Artem, let us enjoy them while we can. They have done nothing wrong

  28. SAVE COVENTRY SPEEDWAY MEDIA INFORMATION E-mail: pressoffice@savecoventryspeedway.com THE Planning Inquiry hearing into Brandon Stadium gets underway on Tuesday September 19. This follows on from the decision of Rugby Borough Council's Planning Committee last November, in which they unanimously refused the Brandon Estates planning application. The developers then appealed that decision, and the inquiry will now take place over an 8-day period featuring speakers and witnesses from all parties. There will be representatives from Brandon Estates, the Council (as they defend their decision to refuse the application) and from the Save Coventry Speedway & Stox Campaign Group as a Rule 6 party. We will be providing witnesses from both speedway and stock car racing to give evidence on our behalf, and they will also be subject to cross-examination. The process will be detailed and will cover a wide range of topics, and a final decision is not expected until several weeks after the inquiry. However, the proceedings can all be followed via a livestream and we are sure many supporters will wish to make use of this facility. The link for the session on Tuesday September 19 (from 10am) is as below, and subsequent days' streams will be available from the Rugby Borough Council YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Quacfny1d3c We believe we have prepared thoroughly for this vital inquiry, and we look forward to hearing the evidence from all sides and having the opportunity to state our case in support of the Planning Committee’s original decision.

  30. The rules surrounding demolition and planning permission are pretty complex, if there is asbestos or anything that could be considered unsafe then pp would be required

  31. Not seeing anything like an easy win tonight at all. Would have much preferred Redcar in our group than Scunthorpe. With Douglas possibly the best rider around WR, Lambert on form, Palm Toft is no slouch and reserves who know Poole like the back of their hands and keen to put one over, this could be a right old banana skin. We have to be on it from the start or it could be a painful reminder that nothing is guarenteed.

  32. Interested to see how ablett goes against Poole. Was some here mentioned thought had been "tapped up", to use a footballing term, prior the the scunny home league match. Given he scored inside of a bagel in that match but was paid for double figures the next week against Glasgow added bit of fuel to those flames

  35. The reserves have been Glasgow's a chillies heel for years and sadly lessons have never been learned. I can understand them trying to protect Pjiper as an asset for seasons to come but in the past (with the exception of Bewley who was already BV asset) they have tried young 'prospects' that haven't been up to it and haemoraged points at home never mind away. A rethink for next season I hope although league setups may be totally different.

  37. Oxford signing Boughen and dropping Killeen was amicable by both parties. Killeen understood the move, especially considering his lack of time on the bike this season. He's part of Oxford's long-term plans, he's gaining experience with the Chargers (and guest bookings) and is expected to be named in the side next year. Not sure why some people are pushing a 'Killeen is upset' narrative, when it's simply not true. He has no desire to race against Oxford.

  40. It doesn't cost money to be honest with people. Why don't they just say Artem has been blocked by his Polish club or that Buster can't afford to pay him?

  42. You can't blame him for going for the big bucks in Poland, very unlucky to get injured and I would suggest his crash had nothing to do with his riding style just very unfortunate.

  43. Sorry to see charles get injured get well soon, however he gave up on a club that have kept him in work for a few seaaons now for a poss one off meeting in poland! Do they have riders fund like we do or will he claim off our fund whilst he is injured? Again soz that he got hurt but its a gen question.

  44. Nice to see Pirates fans already writing the Scorpions off, we like to be the under dogs. Look at our side. Ryan Douglas not topping the averages for nothing. MPT just coming back to form after a two month break. Lambo riding his socks off everywhere. Jake , always a dark horse capable of big wins. Connor due a big score. Drew, could be an ace at Reserve. Finally Nathan, lots to prove to the club that let him go. If we keep it close on this leg, its ours for the taking at the EWR.

  45. The loophole that needs to be closed, ( I thought it already was ) is if an assessed rider starts riding in one league then immediately his average for the other league is multiplied or divided as per the current conversion rate. start in prem on a 5 then champs is x 1.5 start in champs on a 5 then prem is x 1.5. I thought this was the rule now so same average cannot be used in other league after 1 meeting.
