If a rider’s average is produced in accordance with the rules and approved by the BSPL it isn’t a false average. Astute team managing in my opinion.10 points

Not really, I think its been a mixture of Buster telling him to sit meetings out as he couldn't afford to pay him and Wroclaw pulling rank and telling him to sit meetings out so he is fit for their matches. All down to money unfortunately, I genuinely believe that if it was up to the rider he wouldn't have missed any. I don't disagree that it's a disgrace though.4 points

Nobody mentioned dropping riders. The original post mentioned Kyle Howarth being injured and I replied to that stating all the original sheffield riders had been injured. That is fact. If Ipswich have been fortunate enough not to have the amount of injuries we have then they have been lucky. If you’re not happy that Ipswich have not replaced out of form riders then take that up with your club instead of sniping at other clubs when team changes are been made. Too many people on here are obsessed with other clubs changes. Anyway I will be there tonight supporting the 1-7 that we put out on track. I take it you will be following you your team on the speedway updates4 points

When Glasgow signed him he was on an assessed average in the Premiership of 5the day after Glasgow signed him he got a proper average Michael Max said on Friday night,it was in the rules from the beginning of the season so as Neil Watson says astute management any other team could have signed him4 points

First saw him race in Remo dal Bosco's Memorial meeting at the Castiglione Olana track, near Milan and he looked quality, beating Paco's dad from behind who seemed intent on putting all rivals through the fence. He was racing at London Lions 2 nights before his GP debut and needed a lift to the airport early on the Friday. A local speedway celeb offered to put him up and get him to his flight but as I'd driven to Hackney that night we gave him the lift to his lodgings, via my local pub and curry house. Introducing him to the landlord we advised he'd be on the telly on the Saturday so all pub tellies set for the GP. As he lined up for his first race we told the landlord it was our friend from Thursday in red, so the whole bar was cheering Fonzi's victory. The publican was over the moon, telling people the winner was drinking there on Thursday. However he didn't appreciate the etiquette of speedway as he continued with every race telling punters to watch the guy in the red helmet who was there on the Thursday.4 points

Perhaps Chapman could explain why a year go says here at 1.01 www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1285189478916248 that there is a few more years here yet but has seemingly publically done bugger all season to show that he's making an effort to save us and give us those seasons. The message at the start of the season has been that we're done for, added to that there was no explanation of why the Tomlin deal went down. The the final nail tonight though was when he sounded like the AEPG press officer.3 points

It makes no sense at all. We Know Neil Watson was/is also close to Ged Rathbone and has been liking posts but saying little. Perhaps, delicate negotiations are going on behind the scenes and nobody can say anything on the matter right now? Who knows. Of course nobody is entitled to know all the ins and outs on private negotiations and conversations, but there’s an awful lot of Peterborough supporters that will be hurting right now and thinking the club they love is about to die. For their sakes it needs to be resolved one way or another and full explanations need to be made when those involved are able to do so.3 points

Before we hang them both let’s just wait and see what the substances were. If it is drugs non prescription then they get what they deserve but we don’t no the mitigation yet.3 points

But he’s contracted to ride for you, and his other job doesn’t clash with it. Ask Doyle, Sayfutdinov etc., it’s possible to do both. If he couldn’t commit to all meetings he shouldn’t have signed the contract. End of. It actually makes it less tricky for us tonight but I still think it’s wrong.3 points

I’m not sure what people aren't quite understanding about this situation. If you have two jobs (doing the same trade) with two different companies and one of those employers is paying considerably more than the other you are going to do what that one is paying the most says. One of his employers had 15,000 in last night and his other will probably have 1,500 tonight. Artem didn’t ride like a man not committed last Monday and nor the previous Monday when he got clean bowled yet got up and won the re run and then pulled out the meeting. I agree some clarity on the situation would be nice but unfortunately that’s just business sometimes.3 points

Indeed my local councillor said that it will go through on the nod, which most such proposals no doubt do; and you can see from much of the PR that the preparatory work has gone on behind the scenes and the planning committee would be expected to just tick a box. However, they don't usually get significant objections, bad publicity and close scrutiny of process and decision making. AEPG certainly don't want that and PCC certainly don't want to justify losing Peterborough Speedway to the city for some future development that will allegedly provide a community facility of greater value, serving more of the community for more of the time (they could make a complex used 365 days of the year incorporating Peterborough Speedway and the Arena, so not viable through lack of use is a weak argument) which provides improved services and facilities for a diverse proportion of the community. It's important to keep the pressure on and not give them all that easy ride due to apathy.3 points

Glasgow did a Matt Ford move, they learned from the best, granted Tarasenko strengthened Glasgow, however we are still very weak at reserve and have a habit of capitulating in important meetings3 points

Don’t know not sure but they don’t ride for us now. But they have all been injured while riding for sheffield like I said.3 points

Still a Panthers win. I'll go 52-38. Transparency is needed on the Laguta situation. It's either Laguta himself , his Polish club, or there's something written in his contract with Buster allowing this to happen.3 points

It does kind of make you wonder where their heads are when they come up with this stuff, doesn't it!3 points

Says it all, dont blame Glasgow at all. Good luck to them but the rule is wrong, anyone can see that except the promotions.3 points

Glasgow getting in Tarasenko with a false average has made them into title favourites I think. 43-473 points

I would do anything to have Ged back...a man who cared for the club and was great with the fans and wanted to win...even apologized to the fans on the tannoy as though it was his fault when the team just missed out on the play offs that year when we got F***** by the crooks at the BSPA.2 points

I am Ged Rathbone’s partner and he sold Buster a very profitable club, I assure you the club was not going under and didn’t need saving and if it hadn’t been sold would have continued2 points

RIP Peterborough Speedway Best race track I’ve visited in this country. Very sad day!2 points

Trying to decide if Doyle is fast because he is great or is just fast because he has no regard for anybody (including himself)! Think I’m going with the latter, seems to be riding the absolute ragged edge. How Frick stayed on in heat 13 is beyond me2 points

You don’t know that at all. I get you’re upset, but I’d be very careful saying this sort of stuff.2 points
-
Maybe he knows more than anyone and knows it’s futile? Just playing devils advocate, but Buster hasn’t changed his story from a statement he made in the summer saying this was the last season has he? He’s kept to that all along as much as people don’t want to hear it.2 points
-
Buster really does need a smack. Mick Bratley is fighting for the club non stop on all social media platforms yet Buster isn't bothering to try at all. Buster doesn't want us to survive and that's why he didn't accept Ged's offer.2 points
-
Inspiring words there from buster. Basically, don’t bother trying as the club is finished.2 points

If Poole had signed rew (as was rumoured) and he started at ippo and Poole on same average would there been as much response as this? Yes tarasenko is clearly better than 5 in both leagues but it's essentially same thing2 points

Biblical rain that stopped the meeting when the scores were very close , no problem with the call off the track was in an awful mess. Then when a track inspection was being carried out and some remedial work was going on another down pour started which finally ended proceedings The people and staff at Mildenhall were very friendly and kind , it would have been good if the meeting had come to a conclusion with all 15 heats completed even though the Comets team were very much a patched up side then Luke Crang had to pull out with injury. It had been over 40 years since I had last been to West Row so cannot really remember what the stadium looked like but the high metal fence around the dog track does not help viewing , good luck to the team next year hopefully they can keep running in whatever the League set up is. Its a long drive home to Cumbria.2 points

At tonights meeting can they make an announcement asking everyone there to go onto the PCC website and object to the planning for the showground as not every one reads social media2 points

Just because they all agreed to it, does not make it correct or right to it just means they made a rule that wasnt thought through properly.2 points

Catch 22 I guess. Vote against it and you might need the rule later in the season You do realise if Glasgow win the league, we will have months of 'debating' his average or what it should be. So for everyone's sanity better hope Oxford or Poole win2 points

As has been gone over many, many times. This was agreed by all promoters at the AGM last autumn. Now it might go against them several promotions want to speak out against it. Well should've thought of that before voted for it!!2 points

Just losing this application(s) will not settle this. If this application fails, they will have two options, they can appeal to the Secretary of State to overrule the council or they can opt to make some changes and hit the go button again, or both. Butterfield seems to be essentially a one-man-band who has managed some of those "health" clubs we are looking to get if he wins. with a convincing manner and not a lot else, other than a bunch of mates who want to follow him scrumping in the property magic money tree orchard. AEPG is a front that holds the operating company taken over from the Agricultural Society. AEPG has only got one director and assets of £1 according to Companies House. The operating company now only has two directors, Butterfield and a mate who is apparently the new CEO. The rest of the people who appear on the web page of AEPG are the groups, consultants and finance people who have put this dreadful application together. The money for the first part, while they wait for the cash flood to start once Phase One is built, comes from one of these so called partners in the form of a mortgage, thought to be somewhere around 400m -ish. Because the planning system is normally all a forgone conclusion, the mortgage would have been quite a reasonable bet when the package was put together so if the house of cards collapses, somebody is going to be in deep dodoo for a very long time. That said, and with that threat looming, the normal outcome is that we will see things getting very dirty. So even if we win this time, there will be a huge incentive to return using every trick in the planning play-book and the making money play-book, so be prepared.2 points

There’s nothing wrong with enjoying your increased chances of success due to another’s misfortune. I gained two places on my Great North Run finish as two competitors suffered minor strokes in front of me. Their family members took exception to my celebrations but like you guys on here I told them to get a grip. What are you supposed to do when gaining an advantage. Just glad I’m surrounded by like minded people on here.2 points

Are you getting upset because someone posted that they are starting to think Ipswich’s name is on the trophy? And then because someone said “wouldn’t that be nice”? Good grief, neither post even mentioned Charles Wright! Let alone said anything bad about him. Let’s hope Charles makes a quick recovery, but in the meantime there’s no reason for supporters to stop wanting their team to win. I haven’t read a single post that’s revelling in his injury.2 points

Bad enough but assuming the concussion runs it's normal course I'd say he's got off lightly, bones will mend. That crash looked bad from the first viewing but then seeing the slo-mo replay, from above the bend, Wow, terrible impact. As mentioned previously in this thread, airfences, what a valuable introduction they have been to speedway, especially now these rocket machines are flying round. Best wishes to Charles, he'll have plenty of time to get his bones mended in readiness for next season. Such a shame just as his opportunity to impress the Poles arose.2 points

Incredible result for Wroclaw, another brilliant final heat from Bewley. Considering the injury to Woffinden and losing two more riders to injury tonight, the people of Wroclaw must be feeling proud of their lads tonight' With sixteen year old Malkiewicz and young Kowalski weighing in with 18 points from the reserve positions, Poland have certainly found another two bright stars. Would have loved to have been there for the atmosphere tonight in that rocking stadium, speedway at it's best.2 points

Should have saved his money, the test on the night is all that matters, there is no arguing with their findings.2 points

AFAIK, when you give a sample, they first test the specific gravity to make sure it is genuine pee, not appletise or a mix of 10% pee 90% water. If you have tampered with the sample (given them appletise or water) then you get a second chance to give a genuine sample. Having given a genuine sample, it gets tested by a basic "dip test". If this is negative, the procedure is over. If it's non-negative, a sample goes away for the proper testing. The sample is split into two vials "A" and "B". The "A" sample is tested. If it is negative the procedure is over. If it is positive, the rider can pay to have the "B" sample tested. If I was guessing, from the little information we have, I'd guess that Morris tried to give a fake sample, and then refused when given a second chance to give a real sample. Hence he never gave a sample and was banned accordingly. Richie Worrall gave a sample which was non-negative. There's no option to do a second sample. The sample taken will be sent off to be analysed fully. If I were Richie Worrall, and I was convinced I was clean, I would do exactly what he's done. I'd get a private test done just to make sure I hadn't had food or drink spiked without my knowledge. If my private test was clear, I'd at least have peace of mind to believe that the SCB full test will be clear.2 points
