  1. If weather has been poor Mr Swales is the man who can.salvage a meeting for you. Well done Johnny. Full credit to the riders for giving it a go. Willy bottled it. Semi wasn’t first bend bunching, so an exclusion should have occurred. The final was not first bend bunching. A rider lifted, was out of control and took out an opponent. Charles should have been excluded. Hollow and shallow victory, but rode well in rerun. Ironically Bomber left Charles room on the outside, I wonder if positions were reversed would Charles leave some room. I have my doubts. Feel for Ben Cook who was best rider on display.

  2. Good statement from the club owners. I know this season has hurt them immensely as it has all those involved and support the Bandits and Bullets. Great to put all the silly rumours that has been floating around recently to bed and Speedway is back for its 56th ( I think ) year in 2024. An amazing achievement for a small town like Berwick. Good luck for the remainder of this season and beyond to everyone involved with Berwick Speedway

  3. So a few hours ago Bewley was racing in his team,, beating Leicester which hinders their chances of a play off spot,,, now a few hours later races for Leicester trying to help them keep a play off spot And people wonder why speedway isnt taken seriously

  4. Personally I think Charles was lucky to be in the re-run. But I’ve had others say Harris touches him, causing him to then lift. But, one thing that isn’t Charles’ fault is the decision. He took his chance and made it count in the final and deserves praise for that over everything

  5. Agreed , I thoroughly enjoyed yesterday after sitting in torrential rain in the car park thinking I wasn't going to see any speedway . So the Redcar trackstaff deserve enormous credit . When Sheffield riders won the PLRC every few years , folk would moan about home track advantage . A home rider wins and thats what you get . Ok I wanted my own team's rider ( Chris Harris ) to win , but when you got racing like we got yesterday , speedway was the real winner, but well done Charles Wright .

  7. A message from Jamie & Scott Courtney. There can be no hiding from the fact that 2023 has been our toughest season on track in recent memory. An almost constant flow of injuries throughout both the Bullets and Bandits sides have contributed to a lack of consistency on track and whenever there has been a glimmer of hope it has been swiftly followed by another heavy blow. As a club, the wellbeing of our community and riders is top priority and to see so many lads from both of our sides get severely banged up really does have an effect on the morale of everyone involved with Berwick Speedway. A sporadic fixture list, inconsistent weather, lack of rider availability and probably the toughest economic climate to run a Speedway club ever, has led us to ask ourselves all of the big questions…… The reality is that Berwick Speedway has always been more than just a team that enters a league year in year out. Berwick Speedway is bigger and more valuable to the sport than we are all probably feeling right now. The club has always shown great resilience through the toughest of times since the Taylor family founded Berwick Speedway back in 1968 and it’s time to dig deep once again! Moving forward we are delighted to announce that we will be leaning on our strength and resilience to bounce back from adversity and we will walk into 2024 with our heads held high. As per every year, plans for the following season both within the club and at BSP level begin around July/August time and 2023 has provided us with our most challenging season on track but we are ready to regroup, rebuild, recharge and go again. Bringing the fans, sponsors and supporters of Berwick Speedway the best possible version of the club in 2024 is our top priority and we are well underway with plans to improve in all areas we can. On Saturday September the 16th we will mark the end of a short but explosive era for the Berwick Bullets. After 3 seasons of competing in the National League, the club will be taking a break from that level of competition. The Bullets have been almost entirely self funded by the club owners and after an incredibly demanding season on and off the track, your promotion have made the decision to channel their attention towards the Bandits and a revamped youth system. The Bullets brand will continue at youth level and will be associated with the purpose built Grant Henderson Tankers training academy at Duns. We look forward to our remaining fixtures and will continue to do our very best for the club in 2023 and beyond!

  8. Heard at the track that Artem's own engine is still stuck in Poland. He was using a club engine today. That explains everything. Picasso cannot paint using another person's brush. Laguta will be his usual self on Thuraday.

  11. The Ref said at the start of the meeting he would allow all 4 back whenever possible. As he did with Richard Lawson after he lifted coming out of the 2nd bend, which took him into Lewis Kerr and fell halfway down the back straight.

  12. All the whinging, complaining & lack of respect to the winner . why not praise Redcar for providing a track which was allowing passing in heat 22 , It was a meeting full of terrific racing Apart from Belle Vue what other track could’ve done it. Ben Cook was excellent , his time will come, I would have been Danny or Bomber had won it , as it happened one of the sport’s great triers did it, Well done Charles

  13. Charles Wright is so wild he's dangerous he should have been excluded for that

  14. I don't think that is the case, his father was on here denying he had been dropped but it wouldn't be that much of a surprise given his form. Personally I would have dropped him but kept Kerr who had done nothing wrong, I doubt Chris Holder or Vissing will set the world alight, they are both well past their best.

  16. If you saw Ellis at Peterborough and at Sheffield last Thursday you would know that Ellis dropped himself, Kerr went because of the obsession we have with averages

  18. You can give up on British Speedway if you wish but don't mix that up with Peterborough Speedway's plight which isn't inevitable, even if it seems like it at the moment and the messages from management are constantly negative (unusual that because historically that charge is what's aimed at the fans). We have a stadium and if and when we move then who funds that is open to question. Part of AEPG's argument for ousting us will, allegedly, be that Panthers are poorly supported, so good to see that you disagree with that. Just remember that when asked, if you have any fight left in you for Peterborough Speedway at that point

  21. They just don't care how ridiculous they make the sport look over here. Bomber sacked by Leicester, he has a moan and says he's going to spill the beans on everything when In actual fact he doesn't tell us anything we don't know, and then he goes back to guest for the club that sacks him. How do you explain this to new fans? Honestly. Laguta will be getting his Mrs to phone in sick for him shortly.

  24. As he had been all year - I said he was destined for the top when seeing him score 6 I think it was at Foxhall early this season and nothing since changes my mind. Shame for King in this meeting, without being wiped out in the first running thought he could've nicked that final. Well done 'blind willie' Dishington (no relation to 'blind Willie' mctell)

  25. Stood here by the pits waiting for the traffic to clear and I think I've got a bit of a man crush on Emil Sayfutdinov ()... Phil Morris you're so yesterday The guy's such a pro signing autographs and taking selfies with fans... grown men are walking away with beaming smiles and a grown woman has just skipped by me after having her photo taken with him. I've not quite seen anything like it since Juicy Brucey

  27. Watched a Supercross event several years ago in Manchester and had four hours of great entertainment, brilliantly presented.. Aimed at kids and adults equally.. I remembered thinking that if I was at the NSS, someone behind me would be moaning to me to "sit down, I can't see, and stop making so much noise"...

  28. I'm sorry but you can't compare it to football. Transfers in football have a shut off time and aren't all season round. Speedway teams are being changed all round the season when some simply don't have much wrong with them! You don't get Marcus Rashford signing for man City for two matches do you ? That what it feels like to me. Its all over the place

  32. So Lewis Kerr plays his part and I would say has done what is expected from him for Sheffield. Popular with all fans of Clubs he has ridden for. Sheffield looking good for play offs. Another GB rider callously tossed aside to accommodate an ageing Holder who has shown scant interest in riding in the UK in recent years and a Dane. Shocking state of affairs .

  39. Richard reports nothing broken, just some ligament damage and a badly swollen ankle. Resting up. He's included in the Poole 1-7 (if fit). Brummies have Josh Pickering guesting for Morris. This will be Kyle Newman's last outing at 2 and Anders at 6 before they swap for September
