Was in good form till the horror incident at Edinburgh the other week. Brain dead comment saying he should retire when you’ve really not a clue as to why he is riding the way he is. The fact he’s even turned up and giving it a go giving his current circumstances, gets my respect.6 points

All this fitting meetings in extending cut off dates what about all the missed race nights earlier in the season (not just Edinburgh) every club had plenty free weeks the fixtures were a shambles from the get go .The same every season lessons not been learnt.6 points

I’m sure Cook hasn’t traveled 100’s of miles to perform below par on purpose, anybody who rides a speedway bike deserves the upmost respect as we have seen careers ended or worse so the absolute crap written on here sometimes needs putting in perspective. anybody watching Craig tonight can see his confidence is shot, he’s miles and miles away from where he was and the struggles he has it’s not nice to see the demise of his career. I’m no particular fan of his don’t get me wrong but this evening I really did feel for him and he’s been put a little into the firing line in being hired by Leicester. This well maybe have been an unpopular opinion but I doubt he’s feeling too great himself driving back up the motorway. If Morris hadn’t have been a complete idiot the team would have looked a lot stronger still.5 points

It's a sign of the times we live in I'm afraid... tonight, and I'm not making this up, we're being told over the PA, to keep to the left of the footpath on the way out of the stadium... because of the stinging nettles! When I was a kid you'd be pushed into them for making a request like that!5 points

Riding professional motorcycle racing for a team is not a bloody therapy session... if he can't cut it he'll be binned off like anybody else in life4 points

People make comments without knowing the full picture. If they did they wouldn’t be saying these things and this thread wouldn’t even be a thing.4 points

Hilarious making a joke of someone who could’ve potentially died if it wasn’t for the quick actions of the medical team. Real classy thing you.3 points

Turned into a lovely afternoon down at Northside. It was great to welcome the Belle Vue Colts their fans and the neutrals that made the effort to support us today thank you. Hope the Belle Vue fan that took ill just before start time is okay. Connor Bailey showed today what an accomplished determined racer he his rapidly developing into. It was great to see him get his max and regain the track record into the bargain. He was well supported by Luke Harrison another young rider who is coming along very nicely. Unfortunately the absence of Ace proved too big a hurdle to overcome a Belle Vue side that with the exception of jack Shimelt were solid throughout. Not quite sure why Comets didn't go with R/R at No 2 again today. Like has been stated already I found myself feeling for Andrew , Steve and all the team at Worky Speedway with regard to the performances of the Skipper and Harry M not just today but throughout the season. Surely the guys know that the consistently poor form they have shown for whatever reason has an impact on attendances and ultimately the promotion who have worked tirelessly to bring the sport back to Workington at unknown personal cost. I would like to think they have apologised for their showing over the two meetings where they scored 7 points between them from 18 rides.3 points

Nevertheless, isn't it silly to have this and the Championship Pairs in the same week as the original cut off date for team fixtures? That's piss poor planning from the league.3 points

Hate to be right but those 2 have let down andrew and steve big style, stopped looking at updates after ht 10 never done that before, the dream return is turning into a nightmare.3 points

The weather forecasters have difficulty in predicting the weather for the next day, let alone three weeks time. More than plenty of time for the forecast to change.3 points

Meeting will go ahead just might not be before the cut off, but will definitely be run .Nobody will be forfeiting points daft suggestion.3 points

I'm 99% sure Connor won't be doing NL next year. Prem (RS), Champ & U-24 league should provide him with enough racing. However we don't know the league formats, so hard to predict anything really3 points

Bomber bringing off Douglas was racing... and fair play to Bomber, he knew it......however, that move by Vissing on Ablitt was wreckless3 points

Useless eh,you're having a laugh,I've seen Craig cook since he first came through the ranks at Buxton and up until recently was one of the most fearless, talented riders out there,he's obviously had situations that have affected him, culminating in the incident at Edinburgh.so was Shawn Moran "useless" prior to him packing the sport in because in his own words, couldn't race for Sheffield anymore after they resigned him.take a long hard think before you judge Craig cook again,he doesn't have to ride but deep down, still wants to and I also hope that he finds his form back.3 points

Have we really got to a point here where we’re gonna start threads just to have a dig at riders? I come here to avoid that, there’s a Facebook group that will be happy to have you.3 points
-
Part of that is because of lack of riders, often the only riders available to strengthen a team are ones dropped from other teams.2 points

Under the limit at declaration No meetings ridden On day of next planned meeting team would be over the limit due to Taresenkos average going 'live' Bonkers sport2 points

Update. The stinging nettles are no longer a risk to the departing public. Mr Dickson has advised that all nettles have been removed from the site. The nettles will then be extracted from the rectum of a certain Mr Cook after a visit to LRI Casualty and disposed of responsibly. There is doubt over who will be at BP on Monday. I’m waiting for the team line up. If Cook is riding, the management may be looking for a ‘Guest’ spectator in the seat my arse normally occupies.2 points
-
What? Personal well being is more important than anything, but if his head isn’t right it is not fair on himself, other riders and the paying public. In sport you are either committed or get out. If he won’t make that decision, I dare say Dickson will/is about to make it for him.2 points

If he isnt fit to ride he shouldnt be riding, just letting his team down.2 points

Josh Pickering is riding in Poland tomorrow for Gniezno in their home match with Pila, the same meeting that Sam Masters is riding in. It does seem odd that the BSPL would schedule what should be a meeting that the Championship riders would want to ride in for a weekend where the Polish play offs were taking place.2 points
-
Probably not. They’d just have to make sure they’re good enough to make the sport pay. Can’t be persisting with rules that are killing the sport here because a few riders’ noses may be put out of joint.2 points

Think we have touched on most of this before Personally although i don't think he was decorated, we shouldn't forget Clem Beckett who fought and gave his life in the Spanish Civil War defending his comrades in the International Brigade And Ronnie's AFS riders https://www.gettyimages.de/detail/nachrichtenfoto/from-left-to-right-famous-speedway-riders-stan-nachrichtenfoto/1053503088?adppopup=true2 points

Don't put all Poole fans in with Shovlar that's unfair.2 points

Course you won't. We didn't get the points from Plymouth last season when was completed after cut off, no one ever has. Won't change just because it affects Poole this year2 points

Should be an interesting meeting today, track should ride good, belle Vue back at full strength, Comets put on a good show last night at the NSS a very enjoyable meeting, BUT the riders need their gating shoes on ,as last night all struggled to gate, and a couple of riders were very off the pace!!! Losing 3-4 points off your last year's average says it all really !!! Anyway rant over speedways back at the northside arena UTC2 points

If you saw him at Ashfield, Berwick and Plymouth on his new engine it was night and day, god only knows what lawn mower engine he's been sat on for the last 4 months.2 points

But that would mean the Chargers riding without Jenkins and Atkins so unlikey in the extreme2 points

Worst rider I've seen at it , rides the rider not the track, done so for years2 points

I'm pretty sure it would be 6.00 (4.00 x 1.5) regardless of his "actual" average his MA is 4.00. So no chance he could have replaced Roynon2 points

If you get paid twice as much in Poland (no idea what the difference is) it would make sense to use your best equipment there2 points

That @davieb1 How long will be be around Not long I hope His posts are useless Now I would call that a very hurtful & out of order thing to say, so how do you think a rider may feel reading that? Very poor post, you can give constructive criticism or suggest stronger replacements, plenty of ways to make your point, without calling a rider useless!2 points

Watched him at the youths at Glasgow boy has it very stylish and in control. He will progress at his own pace but a talent like him at just turned 16 only comes along so often , good luck to the kid.2 points

Claus as an experienced rider was upset he was been done by a young upcoming rider in Nathan Ablitt and basically ploughed into Nathan , Claus was been treated to by medics in the pits for burns to his upper body after the meeting .I’ve lost all respect to him as a rider and it was a poor show by him .hopefully Nathan is okay and is fit to ride as he’s been a revelation since joining the Scorpions and is a breath of fresh air since joining.us2 points

Imo it's too early for the Comets to move up, need to have another year at this level, the people in charge of speedway need a good plan to what is going to happen in the future as its is now around 4-6 track may not be running next year, top league needs to attract some clubs to replace the ones who will/may lose their stadiums, could go on with more reasons. But it's speedway day weather looks OK get down to the northside arena and enjoy watching the comets win (hopefully)1 point
