So you'd have been happy with 3 rider heat in 14 instead then? Ffs learn to count. Lee can only take 7 riders!!!6 points

The Premiership may need Glasgow but Glasgow doesn't need the Premiership IMO. The racing at home is good even against the weaker teams, like Edinburgh. Moving up would mean the nearest team would be Manchester when EDI, Berwick and Redcar are all closer. I've no great interest in what the Premiership does but wish the Championship teams would stick together and not be dictated to by a league the country can longer sustain.6 points

Maybe because he's come from nowhere? The others were strong in under age events before they turned 15, Boughen has been startling, considering his lack of experience (similar to Bewley)6 points

If you can’t use tarasenko it’s probably best to postpone the meeting like last week5 points

As others have alluded we don’t know the final fee but it is substantial amount for a 16yr olds signature and Oxford have done well. Previous to this all indications were that Ashton was not swayed by money as family already invested significantly in his Speedway career paying for top equipment, personal 1-1 sessions with Speedway legends and current GP riders maybe they feel now is the time to try and get some return on that investment With regards to Poland I have been told that Wrocław are keen to strengthen their U24 team up and have dangled the same carrot that was given to Dan Bewley sign for us get Unlimited practice and help with equipment with the chance to ride ExtraLiga if he beats their juniors if not he will be loaned out to a lower league team4 points

No one mentioned Poole in any of those comments? Not everything revolves around your team3 points

A lot of conjecture and guesswork on here - especially about fees. It was definitely suggested in an article last winter in the Speedway Star that AB was being mentored by Lewi Kerr and if so, probably getting some expert bike set up help from Steve Norman. That's a far bigger reason I think why he's chosen Oxford as he'll also know Peter Shroeck well too and not a long haul trip for him either. As for Poland - for god sake give the kid a break, at the moment he's promising and clearly talented but not yet the second coming of the Messiah!3 points

I think Tom should be relieved of the captaincy and given to Bomber instead. I think it would do Tom some good to only have to worry about his riding. Bomber’s a natural captain and he’s used to the pressure. Tom never quite looks at ease these days and I think having less on his plate will help him a bit.3 points

Is suspect Vatcher's reasoning for not picking Bailey was an attempt to lay thr blame elsewhere (suggesting Bailey isn't committed as others) but to me it makes them look childish & spiteful instead!2 points

The hype around Boughen seems huge compared to the likes of Kemp and Palin who had better first seasons in the NL in the not too distant past.2 points

Thank you. The PL offer is interesting. Wonder if that was Sheffield after the Gilkes injury? Only Ipswich would probably be looking to change RS otherwise but don't see Louis having heard of him if he hadn't heard of most of the SGP2 field!2 points

Statement below… Now the news is out and the dust has settled slightly I just want to say how excited I am to be joining the Oxford Cheetahs and back with the guy who I spent most of my early days with last year Peter Schroeck training me the ropes. He believed in me this time last year when I turned 15 and put me in my first speedway race with the Charges. A year on and we are back together but this time with me signing as an asset to Oxford! I know the plan to bring me in for this year are future plans for the years to come but I will give everything for the remainder of this season to try and prove my worth. This is a major move for me with so many other offers I had from championship and premiership teams but I am 100 percent confident I have made the right decision for now and the future! My first meeting is this Friday at Oxford v Plymouth Big thanks to Peter & Jamie for giving me this opportunity2 points

King Jamie!!! How the devil are you? Not seen you/heard about you for ages Anyway, I absolutely agree with you on pronunciation, the way they were laughing between themselves about was totally unprofessional. If I was doing a job like that, I would consider finding out how to pronounce names properly, part of that job. When the Panthers were at Sheffield last Thursday, Ryan Guest pronounced it "Voy-de-woo", which I'd guess is pretty much it, given my (very) limited knowledge of Polish linguistics.2 points

A replacement rider must be done by 28th August. It was suggested that 'its hoped a new rider would be in place for the Wednesday meeting'! Somebody didn't check he was booked in Denmark.2 points

Correct but sentiment shouldn’t come into it. If you want to win anything you have to make sacrifices and his form has been inconsistent like most others in the team. If his average fits to make the team stronger then he has to be dropped. After all it’s a numbers game and Steady and the Bates know that.2 points

I can't understand why Basso isn't normally at 5? Brennan at 5 makes them look weak in that position for me. I was under the impression they swapped Brennan & Basso over because Tom & Claus don't ride well together, but that wouldn't explain why Brennan's at 3 tomorrow. Almost makes me think Basso is scared of heat 13 lol!2 points

I'd have said it's common sense to have teams with Danish riders in visiting during the Danish break and those without when Danish fixtures are on. Its only 8 home league meetings FFS, it shouldn't be hard. Many people are fed up to the back teeth of missing riders who aren't injured, it needs sorting.2 points

Seemed a fair enough decision to re-run that race, to me. Wright might well have overtaken Sedgy on the last lap, so I have no complaint about that! I watched the meeting on the stream and was most impressed with the commentary and with the presentation. A good meeting raced on a very well prepared track, and a close scoreline from start to finish - what more could a speedway enthusiast ask?2 points

we have all seen bikes fly across center green areas as well so nobody should be on center area., all in the interests of safety. in fact everybody should be wrapped up in cotton wool. eh we are nearly there.1 point

A riders average can drop below his assessed average, but 4.00 is the minimum for foreigners. That's why last year Jacob Hook couldn't drop his assessed average (4.00) but Lasse Fredriksen (5.00) could.1 point

Reminds me of a story which may or may not be urban myth... BBC commentator asks Chelsea player, "how do you pronounce your name? Is it Mon-koo or Mon-cow?" "It's 'Ken'". You're right though. Pre meeting research costs nothing. It's disrespectful and unprofessional to repeatedly mispronounce a name all evening. Eurosport kinda used it as some sort of comedy sideshow. Very poor. On a personal note, it's extremely rare that people pronounce my surname correctly. There are even a few in my office who still get it wrong, despite me having worked there over 30 years! Quite pathetic really.1 point

Its farcical as usual, riders getting to just do as they please as usual. We need to go back to basics.Ban them for missing meetings, the Poles would do it.Give them the choice us or them and let’s get some credibility back into the sport in GB.They won’t be missed.IMO. lower standard maybe but it will not be any less exciting on most occasions.1 point
