Pretty poor excuse to postpone the match imo, only 2 riders injured so r/r for Klindt & and Championship second string for TJ isn't much worse than they've been running all season tbh. Calling off a match because you can't find a "strong" guest just opens up a can of worms now doesn't it?11 points

Anyone with the IQ of a lettuce could have forseen that with fixed race nights where six of seven teams were riding and almost universal doubling up, it would result sooner or later in a situation where no (decent) guests were available. So why didn't the BSPL realise this was the inevitable consequence of their decisions? Oh I see.6 points

Sheffield was forcing wolves to come under strength. Wasn’t fair on Ipswich5 points

There are plenty of guests available to guest for TJ, use rr for nic. yes it would have been an under strength team but it as been all season. wolves were forced to go to Sheffield with a much worse team. Lynn are away to us Monday and they will be forced to ride because they are away team. So why should it be any different because they are at home.5 points

No - although they have arranged a Wednesday afternoon banger destruction derby, with orders to hit the pit gate as hard as possible.5 points

There seems to be a few on here that think Lynn/Peterborough should have been sanctioned for fielding sides several points under the limit this season. Now several of those think Lynn should field an even more under strength side tomorrow night, beggars belief really.4 points

Were Redcar given the option of postponing their match at Sheffield in 2017? [Due to injury Redcar's announced line up contained six guests and r/r]4 points

He was asked by the club not to say anything. They knew from day 1 that he was a short term signing. It’s not his place to put out statements. Your anger is misplaced.4 points

Main problem is trying to run a sport totally reliant on a guest system then schedule ,6 of the 7 teams to ride on the same night. Guess what there's no guests available. Who'd have thought eh3 points

Exactly right - Chapman has major faults but this team wasn’t his choice the signing of Laguta wasn’t his signing it was Brady’s and sign him then walk away almost straight away. Whatever the personal reasons was/are he should have seen the season out the stood down .3 points

Rightly or wrongly I suspect there is some leeway being given here because Buster is playing a hand he wasn't dealt at a table he wasn't supposed to be playing at.3 points
-
More to it... Because the postponement wouldn't of been allowed with 2 riders missing imo. Wouldn't you agree? This crap was put on Buster, for no fault of his own (this time). Brady was running the show, picking the riders and doing the deals and paying them.. He had to jack, and that left Buster in the crap, with an overpriced team, he can't afford. TJ out ,Klindt out and Barker breaks his collarbone. On top of any problems the might or might not be with Laguta. He could of said fook it and shut both clubs down.. Although a bit of transparency wouldn't go amiss here.3 points

I don't think this is comparable though.....they've gone to the BSPL/Phil Morris and sought permission to postpone. I'd agree with Ipswich being awarded the points if that's what had been decided, but at the same time season ticket holders and the riders themselves (particularly those on fat guarantees) lose out. Sanctions had to happen in order to deter clubs doing it in the future. I think the chances are miniscule but if Lynn were to win the restating then Ippo would have every right to be mightily peed off. Definitely feel that there is something we're not being told as one guest and R/R isn't enough to cancel. But it's pretty clear we've never been told the truth about Laguta's absences.3 points

You don't need to be ITK to realise that the problem is much deeper at KL and this is just another excuse, Should just pull out of the league altogether. Remember when Wolves were forced to go to Sheffield a couple of weeks ago with a ridiculous line-up? Literally no different to the situation KL claim to be in yet they're allowed to call it off, Something iffy is going on. King's Lynn can easily book Championship riders to guest whilst running R/R for Klindt. Laguta R/R Championship Guest (Etheridge, Bowtell, Nielsen, Starke, Thomson, Castagna, Vissing, Heeps, Newman, Mountain etc.) Breum MPT S. Lambert Rowe3 points

Erm…… what has he said bad there. He told a story of what actually happened. This forum is not the best place for relatives of riders. As you guys see imaginary stuff. leave it just for us fans3 points

Why would they ? They want a play off place - bet Witches fans are pleased Chapman didn’t get his hands on there club or they’d be in the same mess as Lynn and Pboro3 points

And the worst thing about it all is that it's such a waste of a warm, summer August Thursday with the kids off school and holiday makers galore in the vicinity.2 points

Agreed but they could still say who was unavailable, people may understand better - all the Lynn management will know, Phil Morris will know, others at the BSP will know, why can't we?2 points

Run the Championship at a really low limit 35/36? To encourage them to step up. Champ clubs run with 2 heat leaders, 2 second strings & 3 NL riders?2 points
-
Tbf to Barker who has had various issues in the past and comes with plenty of baggage no one can fault him for effort, you won't catch him wimping out off a tight first bend or moaning about track conditions, he just gets on with it and puts in 100%.2 points
-
I wonder how much authority he truly has , and whether he is just there to ensure the tv meetings run smoothly.2 points
-
Exactly that. Part of Phil Morris' role was to ensure there was transparency. Here is a perfect opportunity for transparency and it's been fudged as usual.2 points
-
So you just submit a team that is under that and say anyone else is unavailable? It's not like the BSPL can ring every available rider and check It's simple the fixture goes ahead or Ipswich are awarded the points2 points
-
I have been to several matches where a low average NL guest has, been used to replace a far superior rider, so what is the difference between that situation?2 points

But buster and kings lynn have brought it upon themselves. we don’t just moan for the sake of moaning. It’s because buster and lynn give us a reason to.2 points

That would be unfair on Sheffield, the club the Witches are chasing for the final play-off spot.2 points

Perhaps some people would have more sympathy if dubious calls hadn’t happened in the past - yes I no this call off is for real but in the past there been some very dodgy call offs notably the pit gate incident. Ipswich should be awarded the points but then that’s unfair on season ticket holders .2 points

Yes it was and became the latest farce in the sport. This involved Adam Ellis and Nick Morris in the Play-Off final between Poole and King's Lynn. Both clubs had riders missing through injury, Brady Kurtz for Poole and NKI, Stars. Poole booked Nick Morris to guest and King's Lynn, Adam Ellis. However, Morris was only eligible for the first leg at Poole as his CMA was only below that of Kurtz once the '5% rule' had been applied. So Poole then asked Ellis to guest for them in the second leg at King's Lynn. At the same time, the Stars asked Morris to ride as a guest for them. It is possible that neither club knew of this until team sheets were submitted. In the end the BSPL intervened allowing Morris to continue riding for Poole and Ellis, King's Lynn.2 points

He obviously doesn’t look or watch Polish speedway or he would see Jonus riding well after his Glasgow injuries.it’s pretty obvious from day 1 Shielfield doesn’t rank as one of Jonus favourite tracks.Which is shame because he is a decent talent, wish him well in the future.2 points

Hopefully Doyle will stay for several years to come. And Emil too as both are terrific servants to the team on and off the track. the premiership is a place where they can score big points and enjoy their racing without the huge pressure that’s on their shoulders in Poland.2 points
