  1. Everyone will be pleased to hear Peter (the photographer) has posted an update to let everyone know his condition thank god it’s not as bad as first feared. Hello all. Thought I'd provide a quick update. First of all a massive THANK YOU to everyone who took the Time to message and call. I truly felt the love of the Speedway Family and am blessed to be part of it. I have just come out surgery to close two wounds on my head. All went well. I do have small breaks to my C2 and C3 vertebra and will be in a neck bracelet for about 12 weeks but again everything will be fine.

  2. As already been said the guesswork and I heard this and that happened isn’t the time or place. Freak incident that I hope to never see again. All the best to Peter and hope he makes a full recovery he was responding to the paramedics which is fantastic news. Also hope Craig is okay I know he struggles mentally as it is and I know he thought the worst at first, hopefully we will see him back in action sooner rather than later. Also hope Adam is okay says he’s broken something in his shoulder area just not sure what, but was in good spirits still. And for people asking for refunds on BSN you’re an embarrassment.

  3. I cant believe that anyone wants to watch the incident where someone was seriously hurt back again - at least BSN have the sense and respect not to upload it. As for people wanting updates, we are way down the list of priorities. The important thing is that the photographer is getting the treatment he needs and his family and friends the support. Updates will come as and when they are ready but we are not the priority here (cant believe I am having to actually point that out to people). Best wishes to ALL those involved

  4. I think you'll find he just posted what the majority of us are thinking. Why don't you take a step back for a bit, and you might then see that you're not painting yourself in the best light? I came on here to try and find out if the cameraman is okay, and instead am met with you posting constantly, taking offence at posts when they are trying to be helpful and arguing with people. You say you came on here to try and find out some information yourself, but as you now know, there is no update yet, so why are you still spamming the thread? Is it because it has 'Poole' in the title and you think it's your birthright? Right....now let's focus on the cameraman. Hopefully he's making a recovery. If anybody has any reliable news about him it would be much appreciated, as I think we're all (even Shovlar) concerned.

  5. Now is not the time to talk about:: Health and safety (whether or not signs are posted). Refunds The lack of empathy or sympathy for those who have been injured. That can all come later. Let's (all) just spare a thought for all the injured parties especially the photographer.

  6. I’d like to make a mention of the medical team at Armadale last night, including the county ambulance and ambulance car that arrived too. Thank heaven the Fans Trust sponsor 2 ambulances which jumped into immediate action to pull their resources and not to forget the Air Ambulance…… special people Very best wishes to Peter (cameraman)

  7. Hans has left free caps on the admission gate for the first 50 children who arrive for this evening’s meeting.

  8. You want to watch an incident where someone was potentially seriously injured? That's all kinds of wrong!

  9. If you could ever give a little more thought & consideration into your postings in situations like this, ( which I personally doubt you are capable of) then you would get much more respect from other forum members

  12. The whole "we've had no speedway for 15 years" argument doesn't wash with me. Just because speedway hasn't been at Oxford for a long time doesn't mean the fans should be treated badly - something I was disappointed to hear Peter Schroeck hinting at when interviewed as well. Keep taking the fanbase for granted and the sport might not survive in the city. Much better to look after them and treat them with respect. That said, it's only happened a couple of times, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. It's still a learning process for everybody involved, and I'm sure they will learn from this (fingers crossed).

  13. It’s the nature of the rain offs that’s the problem. It’s well documented that Oxford have a large catchment area made up of Reading and Swindon fans, I myself travel from London for instance - so it’s not just Scunthorpe fans that suffered. The above message is no solution to appease fans that were unhappy about the call offs, listen to them and learn instead. That’s the key to keeping the Oxford success story going - and I hope it happens. The work that was done was commendable, but perhaps a little too foolhardy in the circumstances.

  14. I could not see the meeting last night, reading what has been said, i sincerely hope everyone involved especially the cameraman will make a full recovery. It is a dangerous sport but a cameraman would not think he was in any danger doing his job .I hope someone who knows him sets up a donation page so we can donate, cameramen are usually self employed and doubt they earn a fortune so i expect him and his family would welcome anything we can give. There are many in this sport we all love who give up their time for not much money or even volunteer so when this kind of accident happens need our support.

  15. My goodness, some people don’t half hold a grudge. Mrs Thatcher was only Prime Minister for 11 years and stepped down over 30 years ago. Was she that powerful that she’s still having an impact? Next you’ll be saying that one of her successors, Tony Blair (PM for nearly as long) did no harm.

  16. Boxall woeful? Haway Steve... You've been around long enough to know that years out the game can have an impact... He was straight away on the pace which is encouraging.... You had Complin guesting who is the go to pick for reserve guests due to his knowledge and experience on our track.... Roynon would not have scored what Complin did! We certainly did make Poole work for it right up till heat 12! Good meeting for Rory and a pleasing debut for Hans... Nice to see that he still ain't afraid to ruffle some feathers... Endeared himself nicely!! 2 important fixtures coming up this week against Plymouth and Birmingham...need to pick up the points if we can!!

  17. Judging by the Bandits reserves, Adam would have probably scored similar but well done to Lee for getting stuck in. Right guest for the track.

  19. Gutted to read the events of last night. I can only add that my very best wishes go to the cameraman and Craig and hopefully they'll both make a full recovery. As for the moaners and refund seekers it would be good to see people display some common sense and respect for once. I hope they set up a fund to help those injured last night to at least help them with the short term difficulties that are going to be faced by the victim and his family. Sadly all the old values in this country were virtually eradicated during the Thatcher years along with the current despicable cronies who have wrecked this country.. Whatever happened to empathy, integrity and respect eh.

  20. So OK people are asking for a refund on BSN !! Well give them it & also politely ask them for a donation towards the camera man to help cover his cost of living bills etc as most camera men are self employed & it costs them to upload any images the take for us fans to enjoy

  21. It would be very likely only be around 5% (40-50) people who would go to both to be honest, Reds may well get 1000 with it being the first game back in a higher league. But take away the Macclesfield and 2 Play Off attendances and the average gate would be around 600 people. I wouldn't say they'll be much impact at all, with Kent not being the most attractive oppostion and likely no away fans, it would never be the largest gate of the season anyways. A decent crowd against BV Colts on bank holiday weekend and a bumper gate for the NL riders championship will see off a very sucessful comeback season off the track.

  22. “The Drivel on here can be insensitive” if you are a family member or friend do you not think posting a video of the incident is extremely insensitive especially when injuries and there severity are not know publicly. As for rubber necking something I do not do as more often or not when people do this it creates more incidents sometimes worse than the ones being looked at, also police are cracking down on this now.

  23. i see it different im a big road racing fan dont like seeing people hurt but i like to see for myself what actually happened too many bits get added or left out when you hear it 2nd hand its not always wanting to see gory details just a clear understanding

  28. I still maintain (as someone who has watched a lot of other sports live) that a decent speedway race is still, for me, the best and most exciting thing! This thrill of seeing another rider chase down and pass another at 60mph is still exhilarating! I feel lucky that at both Foxhall and Owlerton this season I have seen a fair few decent passes like that.

  29. But as Laguta has found out it may not have the host of big stars but British speedway isn’t easy……it’s a far different proposition to the full throttle of Poland. If this season has shown anything it’s probably that Emil is the most naturally gifted technical rider at the moment.

  30. Jonus has been a major disappointment for me.Don’t think he likes his home track, certainty shows better form on technical tracks.

  34. Cracking meeting indeed. It's been a long time since we've seen so much overtaking. I'm assuming the lack of comments here means not many watching. They don't know what they are missing!!

  37. Well, I came on here for one reason only and that was to see if there was good news about the cameraman. Seems to be no news which hopefully is a case of "no news is good news". Anyways on the Roynon/Wood incident, I thought exactly as yourself Steve and it seems a few others, definitely... until I saw the replay and Jacob Hook pointed out that in fact that as Roynon completed (or not quite completed) his pass of Wood his deflector caught Wood's front wheel and which caused Wood's bike to behave differently and pick up drive and then catch Roynon's bike. I didn't believe Hook was right until I saw the replay. But yeah without the replay it looked a million percent Wood's fault. Seems it was just a racing accident and can only hope Adam Roynon's injury is nothing serious and he will recover quickly. He's had more than his fair share of injuries over his career so hope he's alright.

  46. You do realise the irony of moaning about moaning. This place is the same as it’s always been. People complain, people squabble, people troll. But nobody would be here if they weren’t speedway fans.
