Complete Sh*t show from Oxford Speedway 194 miles in van from Hull , hotel room for the night.Went and bought ticket from the Oxford promoter at 4 pm and asked is it on , his reply it will definately go ahead , so for £22 pounds I watched two tractors drive round the track for 40 minutes , not one rider from any side got changed or warmed a bike up . There’s no wonder fans are getting disgruntled 2 weeks running for Oxfords fans ps treat paying supporters with a bit of respect and stop taking the piss out of them why chance it call it off like the two other Wednesday tracks Rant Over9 points

The Facenna‘s in my opinion are one of the best things to happen to Scottish and British speedway.6 points

I have a copy of Speedway News dated April 1939. It emphasises the need for teams to be equally balanced. More than 80 years later the penny still hasn’t dropped and self interest prevails among the BSPA who seem to still go from bad to worse. If it hasn’t happened in 80 years I don’t think you are going to see it now.4 points

Thank goodness they've extended the cut-off date, how on earth can teams be expected to complete EIGHT home league fixtures by the end of August!4 points

Why didn’t Sheffield announce Woffy on Friday and use a guest or rr tomorrow bad management3 points

From what I've read Hans had no mechanic over here, full time anyway, which was leading to a lot of his issues. I believe Berwick have a good group of mechanics and people help out in the pits so might see upturn in form3 points

Boxall good signing looking at form since comeback, Andersens EL forms worse than TJs. Certainly hope he's better than his champ form. Definitely better than guests though, wee bit ambition from bandits promotion hope get rewarded3 points

There's merits to all arguments. I'd have had Lawson & / or Wright in the side over Brennan. They're just both better & I don't think Brennan is the future at all. He certainly doesn't have the ability & aura of a young Woffinden, Bewley & Lambert. He's not going to be that level. Anyway, it's also correct to exclude them if they're skipping team events associated with Great Britain. The last thing needed is rider's being able to pick & choose their international meeting. It's unfair on those that are putting themselves out there for the National flag.3 points

Or to rewrite what you are saying, an unknown person entered a competitor’s only area and was quickly suppressed by one of the competitors before being removed by security. A spokesman said “Although it appears that the intruder was merely a rival fan intent on gloating at the visiting team, that may not have been the case and the competitor is to be commended for his swift action which could well have avoided a much more serious incident”3 points

Is it as popular as you are led to believe though? It's very easy to fill stands when you are giving away tickets or selling them for the same price as a McDonalds meal. I've nothing against women's football but the standard is poor. It is being rammed down our throats that it is the most popular sport in the world right now. If that was so you would see houses and pubs decked out in England flags for the women's world cup and so far I have only seen one.3 points

This surely makes a home win much more likely - and therefore would mean Leicester (who are wobbling right now) and Sheffield will both make the playoffs.2 points

Slightly off topic but of all the so called big hitters (GP riders or not) coming back to the UK this year, Emil is the one that stands out. His attitude and commitment makes me proud to be associated with this sport and is a joy to watch. Just wish he’d stop winning so many bloody races at Leicester though!2 points

Bates v Bates, what a nightmare for the paying public. Let them eat cake they say, yes please you say. uk speedway gets entirely what it deserves if this forum is anything to go by. What a great shame.2 points

Because @lewy said we should try and sign him in place of Adam lol. I did question he already had a team place!2 points

They ran 3 meetings from the 23rd of March to the 25th of May.. One of them a KO Cup match, so only two Premiership matches in 9 weeks... Not a great plan...2 points

Sub let to them by AEPG, a car maintenance company, they have just got planning approval for change of use to a paint shop and car maintenance, but crucially their car storage retrospective planning application has not been approved, there are currently over 100 registered objections including one from National Highways. AEPG have treated local residents with contempt over this and their decision to not cut the grass on site, indeed parts of the Showground are now like a jungle, the residents have been stirred (with a gentle nudge from me) into action.2 points

The sport doesn’t need gimmicks in my mind, it needs rebuilding. The product needs to sell, not specific riders or gimmicks. Premier League football, WWE wrestling, PDC darts. These are a few examples of products that can sell tickets solely on reputation, not off the back of one or two competitors. Keep it simple. Focus on the racing. No silly points systems, strip everything right back. Super heats in the bin, the overly complicated gate choosing process after the coin toss in the bin. Tactical rides of any sort in the bin. Play-offs in the bin. Doubling up in the bin. Guests in the bin. Some of the above will need working around, but that is doable. Close, competitive racing sells. Stop holding out hope of the “big names” deciding to come back and build a product that will draw fans first, worry about the rest once we get the basics right. Otherwise we continue to build on sand. Poland has the reputation of being unassailable as the best league in the world. The reality is they could still do Speedway better too. That means anyone could do Speedway better, but it has to come from a place with solid foundations.2 points

We've done that! We've removed the ability to tac-sub in 2 legged matches... I can't understand why the great unwashed have not bought into this. Your point is spot on though, where other sports (Football the exception) have diversified and run in different formats for different audiences we've abandoned Fours, Pairs, Individuals, Test Matches in favour of running EVERY match exactly the same. Variety is the spice of life2 points

Weight may not be a factor in top speed, but it will be in terms of acceleration. Coming out of the start or exiting the bends are theoretically improved by a lower weight. I say theoretically, because the assumption is that the rear wheel can get the power down on the track the same, regardless of the weight applied. This is clearly not necessarily the case. So there may be an optimal weight. Maybe a rider needs to of a certain weight but good, aerodynamically. Hell this is more complex than I'd thought when I started this response2 points
