Tony Mole was never shy at speaking about his attendances and I know he used to have his crowd figures printed in his programmes whilst he promoted at Long Eaton and that for some reason, other promoters didn't like this. Most people will never realise how much Speedway owes Tony Mole. He still attends both Wolverhampton and Birmingham every week and never ever tries to interfere or try to tell anyone to do things he might have done. He sits quietly in the bar with his family and just enjoys the racing. This quiet, modest man has been a pleasure to work with, and he has always had my total admiration and respect.10 points

Face planting someone like that, can have disastrous consequences. A man in the US was recently paralysed for life after a cop (who is now facing jail time) used a similar move on him. A very stupid and dangerous thing to do...7 points

I don't know why,, but most fans seem to think Danny as a 6 to 6.5 rider is consistently going to score like a 9 point rider.5 points
-
As long as the starts are the same for both teams, it's all fair. The only thing the ref should keep an eye on, is to make sure grading of the starts doesn't change heat to heat based on gate the teams are starting from.5 points

Fantastic meeting last night. Obviously helps if you're a Monarchs fan but I thought it had everything - drama, excitement, emotion, great racing, close scores & controversy. Someone forgot to tell Bastian Borke that you can't pass at Berwick - he was sensational for a first time visitor.5 points

Borke was superb considering he had never see the place, some great cut backs coming of the bends.Talented rider.4 points

Couldn’t agree more, fantastic meeting and just a shame the result didn’t go our way. Some Bandits “fans” may not agree but then again what will they complain about if we were unfortunate enough to be in the position of Newcastle, Eastbourne or so many other fan bases.4 points

Good effort by comets fans and further afield heat and rider sponsorship sold out in a couple of days4 points

I am not surprised the meeting is off following the rain all day yesterday. Even if the track was managed to be salvaged there would be nowhere to park as the hard standing area of parking at the Showground is being currently used for vehicle parking and maintenance for an as yet unapproved retrospective planning application venture and furthermore the Showground custodians haven’t bothered to cut the grass in the surrounding fields (where people would normally park) for weeks and in places the grass and weeds are about three foot high and obviously now hold a lot of water. It has the look and feel of an area that is being deliberately run into the ground. I have made my observations to our local councillor.3 points

A wee tip. If you go on Tigers Facebook page on the day of the meeting you'll find links to a stream.3 points

Glasgow do what they like regarding streaming and from that perspective they are doing what they consider the sensible thing for them. And that’s being polite.3 points

The major fundamental issue that the sport has.. (In all its glory)... There is absolutely no point, as a fan, taking it seriously, and, without that emotional tie in, a team sport can never hope to be successful... And you can only infer that the promoters themselves don't take it seriously, simply by definition of such meetings being planned in... Deliberately devaluing your very own competitions is truly an incredible idea... Book online early if you want to get in would be my advice...3 points

Wow... what a garbage line-up for Wolves, but at least it can be called 'Premier Garbage". A seven team league and you can't sort the fixtures out. Hope our riders enjoy their World Team Cup holiday. At least it's not running when the school kids start their summer holidays and impacts the crowd level. ..... whoops! Shame the camera''s aren't there as Abi could say contact us on #SHEFSH*T3 points

I love the way that people keep assuming there will be a league in the same format with a points limit to accommodate anything like even the types of teams this season …3 points

The rule is crystal clear a rider receiving a second warning can go off 15m or be replaced by a reserve3 points
-
I’m only telling you the rule, not defending it. Personally I would let anyone who doesn’t touch the tapes go unless they’ve rolled. If riders want to gamble and duck as the tapes go up then good luck to them I say.3 points

Why is police involvement ridiculous? It is a potential assault, which if it had happened in the street would involve the Police3 points

To dick and his start line crew. Get it up ye. Chucking their arms in the air every time Craig was out to try persuade the ref. Seeing dick on his hands in knees when Leon packed up cherry on top of a good win.3 points

Surely when they do the track walk they can all see the start line and set their bikes up accordingly. You can't hide the dirt and must be able to clearly see what it looks like so why do people moan about it when it's common knowledge that apparently Poole is a gaters track of which I have no idea I don't ride bikes but are people saying only Poole can gate at Wimborne Road if you look out the window and it's pouring with rain you don't go out without a coat so it no surprise when you get wet3 points

the transponder line at glasgow is about half a wheel length behind the start line so when the tyre crosses the line it picks up the winner3 points

Why is Worrall on holiday if he's in the SWC squad Talk about amateur hour.2 points
-
Okay, let's take Steve for example. He rode for his Polish team today and apparently he is riding for Poole on Weds as that was always down in the fixture list. So a 2 day holiday, which unless it is at home both days would be travelling. Dougy more understandable as he not riding again til Friday. Or maybe not, he could still have a 3 day holiday after riding for Wolves on Mon! I'm prob bring mean but they do have Nov, Dec,Jan, Feb to have any holidays!!2 points

If they can't be bothered to race, why should fans be bothered to attend? Will affect Sheffield the most, can only see the die hard Sheffield fans attending now. So they will lose money for sure imo.2 points

‘Holiday’ riders should get a 14 day ban and Wolves a hefty points deduction.2 points

Perhaps he's having a week away in Bournemouth? It's a good job Worrall wasn't selected for the world cup if he'd booked his hols2 points

If Sheffield are adamant that tomorrow is the only free date they have available it will be a bugger for them if it's rained off.2 points

Bet no one can guess what happens when Nicki is last when his side is being 5-1'd....???2 points

You do have to ask what is the point of bothering to locate a new track if all you are going to do is to keep running the sport in such a ludicrous way... It can only sadly end up going one way...2 points

It all depends on who is training them, they all seem to interpret rules their own way and the trainer passes on their bad habits. It totally pi55es me off when some refs let jumping go but others pull it back then don't consistently follow it through for the rest of the meeting.2 points

Best meeting I have seen this season at Berwick, admittedly I have not been to every meeting but last night I was happy to pay my £20 with an entertaining meeting with some very good racing. Leon Flint and Berwick can feel hard done to when his back tyre gave up while in second place in the last and deciding race, but ultimately the race is over four laps and not three and one quarter, anyway the reason for the loss cant be put at that particular door as that would be foolish. Once again the opposition out numbered the home side in race winners and once we head into the last few races, and the away team have a strong one and five, Berwick usually come un-stuck, as they did last night. Add in one or two strange managerial decisions and you have your reasons for another home defeat. The long term future for Edinburgh Speedway is uncertain, if they do come to the tapes in 2024 then I would be getting a contract under the nose of Bastian Borke, on first viewing last night Edinburgh have something special on their hands.2 points

A very stupid situation. If the world was a right and decent place. The fan would apologise for his stupidity, Tai would apologise to the fan for his over reaction and make a donation to a Charity of some sort. It's all being blown out of proportion due to 2 acts of idiocy??2 points
-
I think it fair to say that there is fault on both sides. The fan should not have been there and Tai should have left it to the security. What I think could count against him is that his body language betrays that he did it to make a point. You can see him and the other riders grinning and laughing about before and after. At best it was a prank that went wrong but it cant hide the fact that as a sportsman in the public eye he was wrong and those on this and other forums defending him by saying he was defending himself and the fan may have had a bomb etc have lost the plot. (Reminds me awfully of those Michael Jackson fans that will say anything to defend the fallen pop star)2 points

Every team prepares the track and starts to how the home team wants it. So they’re dialled in from the start and they know what setup to use. Nothing tricky about it standard stuff around the world.2 points

British Speedway website 23rd July showing a picture of two defunct teams and an attendance a children's party could beat. Great advert for the sport.2 points

You could build 3 pit areas so each club had a permanent home pit area with club colours and riders signage. So say if wolves are riding a home fixture the cradley pits becomes the away pits and the Birmingham pits is for second halfers then if two of the clubs rode each other they always retain their normal pit area. If the stadium gets used three times a week rather than one is got to me much more viable.2 points

If you're the home team, why wouldn’t you do it? I’m surprised every team isn’t using make full use of home advantage.2 points
