The overall sport is in the current situation due to many of those involved over the past two decades in particular.. Many of whom, I am 100% sure, have their "hearts entrenched in Speedway".. Capability, however, isn't an emotion..9 points

This is spot on. As I replied on Twitter last night to Chris Louis, I now live 15 mins from the Leicester track and I don't go. I will not pay 20 plus to watch what is being served up. Guests, poor presentation, poor tracks, badly run meetings, a lack of transparency all amount to my decision. I will however religiously watch the GP's and the Polish League. I think a lot of us feel the same as Carl Johnson about British Speedway in that we've lost our enthusiasm. It now becomes more of "what shambles will happen this week" rather than looking forward to a meeting. Maybe its because I lost my team six years ago, who knows, but at present I feel content that my team isn't part of it. My next meeting will be Cardiff and perhaps another trip to Poland having been earlier in the year. I'd rather spend my money on something that has credibility, integrity, kudos, marketing and is professional. I've heard over recent years plenty of people say "if you don't like it, don't go". And there are a lot of us now doing exactly that. You can read on here how people feel. Ok it maybe only be a small percentage that post but there will be plenty of others that don't visit this forum that will feel exactly the same as I do. I know of others that have given up on it and now spend their money elsewhere. I haven't fallen out of love with Speedway, I still love it, I always will. Its my number one sport. But I have fallen out of love with it in this country and the powers that be need to do something to get people like me back.7 points

That wasn't the situation at all. The issue was, at that time, had Peterborough moved down the Premiership would have been disbanded & the BSPL would have lost the Discovery TV deal. Buster bought Peterborough for that reason only, not to save the club & has shown total disregard for the club ever since. It's just ticking over & got absolutely jammy with it's league title thanks to covid, with every other teams having to run a bargain basement line-ups.5 points

I get you guys wanting to win the league or whatever but you're spoilt for superb racing week in week out,at least you go home having watched great racing not like some fans with gate and go and I include Berwick in that5 points

You only have to look at the apathy at Swindon to see how little it really means to so many of the followers of the sport.. The ludicrous operating model, and the lack of credibility, integrity, kudos, marketing, and professional administration, has created that apathy... Basically. If something doesnt mean much to you, then you will hardly miss it when it is gone.. Too many fans can "take it or leave it", and that is 100% all down to those running it who have eroded that so vital emotional attachment.. And they have also made the sport probably (at least), 25% more expensive for fans than it should be.. And all done to ensure riders can remain fully professional in a sport that has semi pro level crowds... And all done in individual splendid isolation, rather than as a collective, with no independent balance checker to see if all OK and on track.. And all done to achieve.... (?)..... Sadly. It's a plaything for a select few that nowadays means far too little for far too many of its followers..5 points

Which is why one shouldn't go overboard when criticising those that do! I haven't got a high opinion of Keith "Buster" Chapman (slimy second hand car salesman who tells a lot of lies springs to mind! ) as a person with good reason but he's put a lot of his money and time into speedway since he first bailed out King's Lynn 31 years ago in 1992 and he is a genuine speedway enthusiast. Most people on this forum wouldn't be able to do what he has done in speedway so while its looks like his time in the sport has run its course and hes made mistakes like anyone does he should be given credit for the positive things he's done in speedway, a sport which only an absolute diehard would invest money into!4 points

You reap what you so sow and he hasn't sown enough, or what he has sown has been poor decision making, as results and lack of success indicates. Can't speak for Lynn but if he's had a gutfull of Peterborough then the blame lies with him. He's the owner and the poor product comes from the top. Hopefully his final act isn't to drag the club down further with him but the clock is ticking and he needs to make a definitive statement or hand over to someone who can fight for the club and take it forward, hopefully at the EoES which will be available for use, IMO, for at least another 3 years.4 points

I do find comments like this hilarious, (whether it's a joke or not still funny to me) Poole won home & away to Oxford in the BSN, knock Oxford out of the KOC & just because they lose the away league match (could still win the bonus) people have made such a big deal of it. I guess because Poole have been so successful over the years, I means more to the opposition when they beat them?4 points

I've got to be honest, I think that press release is an absolute disgrace. It's a clear effort to not put any blame on to Buster & or Allitt. People have missed the point in that King's Lynn (& Peterborough) have been run disgracefully even pre Brady & the common denominator in that is the 2 names within my 2nd paragraph. It's not a coincidence4 points

Can only go by what I read on updates, but comets beaten by a better team. When you have a 15 year old at no 2 scoring like a heat leader, and a reserve who can score a bag full of points. It's game over. Onwards and upwards, but I can't see who, if any riders are available to change the team with, let's enjoy the rest of the season watching the comets at the fantastic Northside areana,3 points

It might work to our long-term advantage to have Bailey ride other home tracks for a couple or three seasons.3 points

Good match today, beaten by a better Leicester team. A decision or 2 against the comets today but is what it is. Don’t agree with however, the barrage of abuse directed at Sam hagon over the heat 13 incident. There isn’t any place for that type of abuse in the sport. Yes, we all disagree with decisions from time to time, but no need to shout horrible things to these young lads. Onwards and upwards.3 points

Winning the league is really not a big deal for me, as long as we're generally at the sharp end and entertained. And we are. I think the majority of the fans here would take the racing over trophies too, as long as we're generally doing well.3 points

If I had my way I would lock Chapman in the toilets at the showground and leave him there until the bulldozers move in and flatten the whole site. A fitting tribute !!3 points

I had a look into harry because at the start of the season he was off 7. I believe he had a crash last season so would explain his confidence issues. You can tell its confidence as he's a decent rider when he gets ahead on the first bend but when he's behind he just doesn't fight for it. I've watched a few highlights off him from last couple year and he's miles better.2 points

Speedway is about team strength 4 points from 9 reserve rides speaks for itself. Not surprisingly in our first season back established strong teams are a big challenge for us. Leicester were strong right through, they generally outgated the Comets and looked faster on track. Agree with what has already been stated it was pretty poor form booing young Sam Hagon who was a great guest for the Lion Cubs. The rainfall radar was bang on with the 16:45 rain forecast. When sitting in the back straight stand the quality and volume of the PA was not great. Struggled to hear most of Roy's announcements and interviews. Could be related to the stand height relative to speaker position ?. Some good racing again but a hard day at the office for the Comets. Ace Pijper finally gave the home fans something to cheer with his battling win from behind in heat 11 against Ashton Boughen and Dan Thomson at the 4th time of asking. Personally i thought Ashton should have been excluded in the first running as he came down on his own.2 points

Changes are pretty impossible at this stage because the team total comes to 45.91 and with 2 changes it would have to fit back under the 42 limit. I.E dropping the McGurk’s (7.83 + 3.00) would only leave 6.92 for two riders! For context, it’s impossible to fit Bickley in with any combination other than Bailey plus Elliot Kelly or higher2 points

Numbers game unfortunately we keep harping on about it but continually lowering the points limit has that scenario happening annually.2 points

needs tough decisions unpopular with riders and some fans. The day 4 valves came in was the beginning of the bike wagging the rider so to speak. 90pc of fans couldn't give a moneys about the bikes, just want decent racing at a price we can afford.2 points

It's possible every single Glasgow fan & the management would all agree that Hume is better than Nowak - but it's irrelevant as that change would've meant Glasgow were over the limit. If you're going to declare Hume should have been in the side (easy to say) then really should point out the other changes needed (much harder to do).2 points

I must say seeing how the BSPL dealt with the kent & nora situation I would not be confident in saying they would act with the best interests of the sport and cancel chapmans license and give on to MT. I hope I’m wrong but they sure do make some funny decisions.2 points

This One of the most sensible messages on here, let's support the Panthers Speedway through these difficult times (for current & Potential new owners, & supporters) for now. Then hopefully look forward to a better year next year & beyond.2 points

The obvious way forward at least ten years ago when Poland took over.. Instead we had egos wanting certain riders in their teams, rather than thinking about the wider picture.. Any team winning any league will hardly add a bum to a seat at the start of next season.. So make every team as close to each other as possible and keep it competitive.. But, most of all, keep it sustainable and credible..2 points

To summarise. He basically said Poole fans don’t troll or gloat and to prove him wrong, and then you posted the ‘basso/brasso’ comment almost immediately afterwards. Carlsberg don’t do forum posts, but if they did…2 points

Don’t get me wrong Poole are probably the best run speedway team and most successful they always seem to have good crowds and get really good sponsorship every season and since they’ve dropped down have assembled really strong teams I think more teams should aspire to be like them and I get a winning team makes fans etc confident there’s nothing wrong with that but sometimes you and others do go ott.2 points

It’s like the Freemasons with CL sticking up for chapman they all continue to do nothing to change the state of the sport but watch it get weaker and more unprofessional by the year but continue to back each other. They’ve both been involved in speedway for years they are part of why the sports in this mess by continually chugging out the same tripe season after season.2 points

My initial thought was can a club as in Peterborough run a team in an offical match if theres no promotion in place , But as the statement is from Lynn it appears to be an issue from that end , or its been made as the meeting is at Lynn2 points

Curveball: reason for postponement somebody may not have been available for Monday & it's crucial King's Lynn win vs Peterborough? Can we genuinely trust a King’s Lynn press release these days?2 points

I have no idea about the little trick or why you think it is cheating.I would agree we have had a dodgy past in that regard but dont see the cheating bit now, perhaps you could explain. The track is not horrible and does produce alot of passing maybe not every meeting like Ashfield or Redcar but it does produce good racing in general.2 points

And that’s why Stars v Panthers is off on Monday he’s 14 riders to pay and the numbers don’t add up financially it be suicide to run it - on attendees alone so seeking financial help .2 points

Were you born stupid or is it something that has progressed with age? You and two or three other Panthers idiots (apologies in advance to the decent P'boro supporters who thankfully are the vast majority) have taken every opportunity that you've been able to engineer over the past several months to blame KC for everything you can conjure up in your tiny minds! I'll be the first to agree that KC don't get everything right (no one does apart from you and your like)............... but make no mistake there would be NO speedway at P'boro OR KL without him.2 points

Watched this last night while reading the comments on here and as usual it was the usual mix of hysteria, mis-information and negativity. The track was fine, there were no incidents caused by poor track conditions, you could put Gilkes spill down to inexperience, a great lay down by TJ btw. What Howarth was going on about when complaining about the track I don't know, his manager when interviewed said the track was fine, nobody seemed to be having issues with it. The way he was describing it you could almost imagine he was talking about the Sheffield track, he's been around long enough now that he should be adapting to these type of tracks. The racing was perfectly fine, there were a few good tussles. There's no doubt the track is not as conducive to good racing as it used to be but it is what it is. Laguta & Lambert were excellent for the Stars and TJ rode like a Lion in the re-run of 14 and had a pretty decent night before that too. Lynn's problems stem right back to the start of the season for me and the initial team selection... who in their right mind would have Klindt & KK (KKK?) in the same team, they're both notorious for their yo-yo scoring, KK in the head and K for being a demon gater... or not. To have KK as your "big" star when other clubs were bringing in Bewley, Sayfutdinov, Fricke, Holder, Doyle, Pedersen etc. Lynn were always onto a loser. I think if Laguta had been there from the start the season may have turned out very differently. The team as it stands currently, Thomson, for me is not PL quality yet, especially in the main body of the team, Klindt, just not reliable enough for consistent points, if he and Thomson and "Big" Ben Barker had scored 10 between them last night all of a sudden it's a 43-47 thriller. 2 points from 3 riders (2 very experienced riders) is just not good enough.2 points

Thing is 8 year olds in the playground wouldn’t even find Shovel funny , and he then thinks he’s on a fishing trip when in reality we are all laughing at him rather than with him. Guy is a sack or comes across as one plain and simple.2 points

Buster can’t afford 1 team. Let alone 2 so could we see a merger of both teams from now on. sadly close Peterborough and run a mixed team at lynn NKI Klindt tarasenko cook tungate (new signing) Simon lambert jenkins/rowe much more competitive team and only paying for 7 riders not 142 points

In the top flight King's Lynn & glory hunting isn't something that can be thrown at King's Lynn fans ever. Many on here have been fans for more than 30yrs & success isn't what is demanded. What is demanded though in 2023 is VFM. There's not 1 thing currently about King's Lynn (& Peterborough) that give anything back to the fans. Poor track, poor racing, poor team, poor food etc. Why should us not going feel guilty if the club closes?? I've always said it, I'll say it again & it's absolutely, without question, fact: IT'S NEVER THE FANS FAULT IF A CLUB CLOSES. It's on those running the clubs2 points
