For someone who "knows team building" you will surely understand this, you have 40 points. You want Basso bomber and tom in your team?? If you do we got probably the strongest possible 2nd strings in Claus and Marcin because they both came in on 5 point averages. Which meant we were left with 6 to fill the reserves. It was always a gamble with who went at 6 but please show another 4 pointer that could've gone at reserve........ Personally I would've taken Jason Edwards but he was gone to Redcar, Paul Starke would've been my 2nd choice but didn't fit so I'm guessing they thought Lee could do it. When you're comparing riders such as Marcin, have a look at where Broc was at last year because that's who he's come to replace, Secondly scoring points at 2 is far harder than what Marcin had when he was last here at 6. Oxford put Poole to the sword with a #7 reserve scoring 0 and a 6 that scored 9 off of 7 rides (1.2) per ride. So if Lee gets 4 and Ace gets 2, which is what their averages are at then we only need 1 little extra point from somewhere and that extra point may just come in heat 8 from the "slow Polish fella".7 points

Doesn't really matter who has the second leg for me, it is being streamed and you can celebrate the trophy with the home fans the week after if needed. Not like the playoffs when the playoff final is last fixture of the season.5 points

As Leicester season ticket holders who have travelled the country watching speedway for the last 54 years, my wife & I have decided we will not be paying out over the top entrance fees for a watered down stocking filler of a meeting like this. If the top Premier league riders can't be arsed, then neither can we. More proof if proof is needed, that however much you try, you really can't polish a t*rd.5 points

It'll be fun reading the Peterborough thread to see them take the negative out of this performance4 points

Firstly well done to all involved tonight, but I’ve already seen a post on Facebook saying we won’t have anything to say or moan about now…ahh it’s ok we’ve only won once in 11 fixtures this year. But 2nd in a under strength pairs meeting fixes things for some3 points

Also let's not forget that he was heavily involved in turning the Great Britain Speedway from also-rans to consitent medalists and World Champions!3 points

You say Marcin is weak at 5, but then you also say reserves are more important. Well, if Marcin is weak, you need someone with a higher average. But then if the reserves are weak too, you need reserves with higher averages. So you’re now shoving in three riders with higher averages. Out of Bomber, Claus, Tom and Ben, who are you kicking out to make way for those in your team building? And when you’ve done it, was it worth it? Does it makes the team better to get rid of any of them? Theres more than one way to win. We saw Peterborough win with strength in depth. We saw Poole win with a reserve averaging 1.5. To be honest, the one of the biggest factors is healthy riders in September.3 points

The two league matches are in July . Make them the BSF Cup final and we'll go to Poole on Wednesday in the league . Cause I dont see tomorrow happening3 points

What gives you the arrogance to think you're the only person who understands how to build a team. And while we're at it I'll ask who did the enemy have at reserve when they had cook, masters sedgy etc and won the league at a canter? Absolutely no trump cards. Aaron fox and clegg who struggled to maintain a 3 all season!!!3 points

They may as well just stay in the NL of their only gonna meet fellow reserves, would also cause havoc with the averages, you'd have Newman & Mountain on 10+ averages. I'd certainly change to format so the weaker reserve has to ride at 7 & can't be replaced in heat 8 (Premiership rules) or use the old Elite League fast track format where there were too reserve races & they never met a heat leader, but do race second strings.3 points
-
how will that improve them, its no challenge at all riding against the same riders all night. If you have the best reserves at the beginning of the season that is a 20-4 point swing every meeting and the meeting is already won.3 points

What a daft comment! Far more than drizzle. I was at the meeting - it didn't have a chance of progressing any further. Still raining heavily when we left, with no sign of it stopping. Fair play to the riders for cracking on without complaint with the first four races (not sure if you'd have got that with more experienced riders). Sadly, the heavy rain (there'd only be a bit before tapes up) returned with a vengeance. Most of the riders actually wanted to continue, but it just wasn't safe.3 points

Lads were not given the option prior to heat one it was photo and get on with it . Two minutes came on and away they went. Personally think it was the wrong decision as the rain was constant the meeting was never going to finish especially on a 20 heat format where riders have back to back races at heat 4 8 12 and 16 . After heat 4 some wanted to continue others didn't but personally think it was right to stop. Think the sport dodged a bad press bullet yesterday if one rider got hurt riding an unfit track the neigh sayers would be having a field day3 points

A bit of drizzle? Did you see the meeting? I'm amazed it even started - fair play to them for even giving it a go.3 points

They would have a fit for purpose R/R operating model? They would have less riders per team to create a surplus of unattached "subs on the bench"? They would stop running meetings on nights when they 100% know key riders who should be there are already booked to be elsewhere, or, are likely to be elsewhere as they have made it clear at the start of the season that they are pursuing individual ambitions, eg GP Challenge qualifying, U21, U19 domestic and world qualifiers etc? They wouldnt be agreeing so readily to meetings where they know they would be allowed to improve their team by bringing in a better rider on a higher average, or a better rider at a specific track? They wouldn't have such ridicule based on much of the nonsense and manipulation that is allowed to pervade by having guests in the first place? The sport may be taken seriously by the wider media and fans? Sponsors may come on board to support credible sporting contests? Ex fans who still closely follow the sport may start to return?3 points

Charles Wright and the 3 who pick themselves... We have 3 of the worlds top 10, with two of them being absolutely top notch around their home track of Wroclaw at times this season.. Worrall would be my choice if at Vojens.. And Ellis seems to be having an injury impacted campaign... So why Wright? Wroclaw and the NSS are pretty similar in shape as both built around American Football pitches with wide, sweeping bends... And Charles does have that bit of "devil" in him when it all becomes "too close for comfort", he wont take any prisoners in those "clutch" moments of races... And you won't be passing him without having to take a risk or two. He will make sure of that. And if behind won't be scared of doing the odd "Bartek" across any of the apexes, and riding his opponent up the track... For me, it is a great opportunity to win in Poland's "backyard"... As long as we get "No 4" correct...2 points

With tapes up in under 3 hours, could somebdy within the powers that be at least bother to inform the great unwashed who will be paying to watch this watered down s**t show at least what the scoring system will be, or is it going to be thought up and changed half way through the meeting in the interests of the sport, just to maintain the interest? https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2023-premiership-pairs/2 points

I seriously don't,,,, just thought I would ask,,, as I think it's the most asked question on any forum or page on a race day. I wouldn't pay a pound to watch it,,, let alone eleven pounds and ninety-nine of my finest pence. Maybe I'm unlucky as I get it free on my firestick2 points

But didn’t he appear on bbc news and I’m sure he’s been on question of sport although someone may correct me if I’m wrong. He was in numerous tabloids doing interviews after winning his world titles but people just aren’t bothered about speedway that is the problem, you might’ve got a few hundred people up and down the country going when they discovered what it was and the novelty factor because they hadn’t seen it before and it looked exciting on the tv the clips they’d seen or whatever then they go to a uk meeting the track is unfit for racing and meeting gets delayed an hour while work gets done to it and said people won’t return. Or the ludicrous guest rules your trying to explain to a newbie that Chris Harris is employed by Coventry but tonight he’s guesting for Swindon because there rider is riding in Poland instead of the uk. People won’t understand and just think it’s a joke (which it is)…. imo the sports problems are far bigger than woffy advertising it. When do you ever see any of the current promoters promoting the sport anywhere? Why can’t they all chip in and get a proper advert out on bbc or itv or channel 4 or whatever it may be? They can’t or don’t know how to promote it in some cases yet why should that fall back on to the riders to promote the sport for them? The top riders will promote it to gain sponsorship but the vast majority of sponsor’s already know about speedway or are already involved in it.2 points

I think your question has been answered in the Press Release of May 24th http://www.kingslynn-speedway.com/news.php?extend.31349 i.e. “All of the financial and team matters at King’s Lynn are taken on by Alex Brady and Dale Allitt, although obviously I still have responsibility for the stadium." That clearly indicated where responsibility lies for any agreements re the Team, therefore as the stadium owner he has inherited any issues and problems leaving him to deal with them however he is able to. I note that "financial" matters specifically were not his responsibility. It leaves me thinking he has been left to pick up the financial sh*tty stick after those that have dropped it!2 points

Aye nae bother. We'll weaken our side and ride on an off night in a FINAL. Cause Poole would obviously do that too. Don't be daft ffs2 points

The only way NDL riders are going to improve is by bringing a heat change formula for the reserves. I'd suggest that the four reserves only race against each other in 4 heats with one start from each gate.2 points

Ace is one for the future no doubt but the team is not going to win any trophy with him in his first year. Too often we've seen so called wonder kids given a chance (eg Bickley was another while Bewley was the exception but just didn't stay at Glasgow long enough for us to benefit) to no avail. Too much pressure is put on these young kids. Yes let's develop them with an eye on the future but let's be realistic and accept that with a 2pt reserved the other 6 have to be on fire. As for our other reserve I'm afraid he is out of his depth and he should stick to the NDL which seems to be his level. Also at his age you have to question why he is taking on so many guest bookings and extra travel. Is he seeing this as a last gasp at making some money so grasping every opportunity available but not giving Glasgow 100% in the process. Yes we want to build a team for the future but with the present teaming building regulations its obvious two or more rider will move on at the end of each season killing any consistency and until that rule is addressed building for the future is a waste of effort (and probably money)2 points

Can't believe how negative you're being about your team, do you remember the state your team were in before the Facennas? Many other teams would kill for a line up like yours. P.S. Every single rider has increased their average2 points

Peterborough should sign Laguta for there home matches only as well , Then when Panthers and Lynn meet he can ride for the home team and the away team uses a guest.2 points

What the final that still hasn't happened and is the laughing stock of British speedway. What a shocking decision that was eh? Tell you what you ring up my ford and ask if he'd run the meeting without Lawson and the cooks. You know the answer so don't come on here spouting nonsense that we should run it without the equivalent1 point
