It was more likely he was injured by Buster who stood on his foot with the intention of getting his Polish team to stop him racing in the Uk. #savethepennies5 points

Umm, perhaps its because Alex Brady has stepped down completely, Dale Allitt is / was in hospital. When Buster was quoted as being promoter in name only, he was. Facts straight. Get Them5 points

It's not poor refereeing. The decision on whether or not the race is awarded is at the referee's discretion. There is no rule that the race HAS to be awarded.4 points

Really wouldnt be surprised if Buster actually financed getting Laguta to Stars4 points

So only a couple weeks ago Buster releases his usual im not to blame press release and stats he has nothing to do with kings lynn anymore other than owning stadium. Then last night he appears on tv as kings lynn team manager Either the guy is a idiot or he thinks we are all the idiots4 points

Our esteemed team manager may have to consider applying for an injunction as you seem to be obsessed with everything and anything concerning him. You don’t happen to have a full blown up cammi doll you take to bed at night with you. Scary stuff someone should be checking your hard drive.4 points

I keep banging the Conor Mountain drum, but I do feel he deserves another crack at the top level. Being a local lad as well it would be a romantic story3 points

Why was he allowed to leave the pits without one ? Surely that's something that the machine examiner should be looking for3 points

It's a shame that the the controversy has overshadowed the book. I got a copy for Christmas, but don't get much time to read at home, so I've had to wait till my holiday. I read Kelvin Tatum's book first, which I enjoyed, and I'm now about half way through Peter's and thoroughly enjoying the read. The only downside to reading it on my sunbed is that the glue has melted in the binder, and the pages are falling out I wasn't a big PC fan back in the day, as Simmo was my number one man, but both books are a fascinating insight into the lifestyles and careers of these guys. The 70's were more my era, so I can relate to PC's book more, as it brings back fond memories for me. What a life though. Travelling the world and being paid for doing something you love. Makes my life seem so boring!3 points

I agreevStarBoy. Maybe he thought that there was someone from HMRC in the audience3 points

Better promotion in and around Lynn and at holiday venues would certainly help. The times when things were really buzzing at Lynn was when Jonathan was in charge of promotion. He had a number of ideas, mostly good, and it would be great to get him involved again. He was there last week……3 points

I can never understand why there hasn't ever been a big push to get younger, paying crowds through the gate (16-25 year olds). All the clubs say it's about getting the next generation interested in speedway, but there has never been an incentive to get them in. It's all well and good letting U16's in for free but if there was a promotion to get (16-25's) in, say £15 a ticket surely that would attract some interest. Especially when you've already got your core demographic - the older generation - having reduced prices3 points

I still say re runs should start with handicap systems (if 1 lap had been completed) stop all this staying down on purpose bollocks. For example heat 1 last night. Sedgmen starts from tapes. Fricke 5 metres back. Laguta 10 metres back.3 points

Watched it back when home from belle Vue. good meeting I thought and actually a good showing from lynn really. Without the injury to laguta which I think was a fair reason to withdraw as his foot went on the spokes and yanked his leg back. 100% that was a sore one. Lyn would have won this or got at least a draw. riss was a shocking choice of guest. less said about Eurosport the better. The whole production is terrible. Starting with Tatum being on his own. I know there’s no point moaning as things won’t change but for me the BSPA need to step in and sort this and tell Eurosport your doing the sport no favours what so ever.3 points

it really needs 2 in there to bounce off eachother - Nigel (a huge loss) was the main man too and its clear Tatum would probably be better going back to his role of the co-commentator. It seems odd just having him do it and he probably (still) feels a bit lost withouit Nigel. At least at the GPs he has Chris and there is 2 of them.3 points

He fell on lap 2. The rider leading the race was still on lap 2 at the time of the fall. Yes, you could argue that they were on lap 3 when the red lights came on, but it seems perfectly reasonable to have a re-run. The rule itself, of course, is not clear whether the two laps refer to at the time of the incident or the time of the stoppage so it is down to the ref's interpretation I guess.3 points

I would. Pretty much the first thing he said after Alex quit was " the team is over budget"3 points

Hans getting owned by Jake Mulford pretty much sums up Andersen's last two years in a Panthers race suit.3 points

no it’s up to the mechanic to put it on the bike the machine examiner will inspect it in the pits along with the bike whether it’s on the bike or not it usually the last thing the mechanic does after warming the bike up as it’s pretty hard to start the bike off the back wheel with it on2 points

And all of a sudden certain riders are doing much better for the club since those 3 have departed .2 points

Think it's probably because Alex and Jakobsen aren't here anymore. Don't think, from what I've heard he saw eye-to-eye with the rest of team, but he was good friends with those 2 they both went over to Australia and stayed within his family over the winter2 points
-
Trust me, we're annoyed. However, if that's the attitude he wants to have then it's better he's not in the team. Although we're not picking up wins, the team morale and bond between the riders seems good at present. Josh would have come in, probably demanded the captaincy backed and disrupted the good vibes around the team at present, so probably for the best2 points

Again, agreed. The prestige and honour of winning the Premiership is far watered-down now. I accepted that long ago, however, getting to see Laguta every week is enough entertainment for me2 points

Wow... Still crap at 900 isn't it? You do though reap what you sow... And the promoters of the sport in this country have, in the main, been clueless for decades... And unless they one day wake up and realise that it doesnt really matter who wins something so contrived and abject, and agree to make every team part of UK Speedway PLC, with a collective marketing and team strengthening strategy, it will simply wither and die... Covid gave them a unique opportunity to reset, and relaunch... That they did neither speaks volumes for their capabilty level...2 points

I genuinely don’t think he would even pay what Buster could get for the air fence and any machinery. In fact I doubt if he wants it at all. Every thing he said so far looks to have been hot air.2 points

Could Cook’s back injury be the end of it for him? Been out a month with it already and that was without a spill. Could be more around how serious an injury it is currently, or he’s weighing up what it could manifest into with a crash2 points

If it was the case, surely should have been announced at the track ( by various posts assume it wasn't) and put out on social media. Either not true or bad pr for the lad, one way or another.2 points

What? Laguta was nowhere near winning heat 1 & 10 in both original runnings.2 points

It was a worrying post meeting conference for sure, and as Keith said, the crowd for the previous meeting was 600, and it was obvious for last nights meeting, it was even less. Clubs in the NDL can survive on that, but certainly not the Premiership or Championship. I've not been to many tracks this season, but Birmingham doesn't look good, Leicester doesn't look any better than it did in the Championship. Who is going to buy into an expensive sport with crowd levels like that? I really felt for Keith, who at times looked quite emotional during his speech, and just hope the sport reorganises itself into a more financially beneficial way of running in 2024, so that we don't lose clubs like King's Lynn. I've read the reports about the Eurosport coverage, and a friend who is out in France was watching it, and was messaging me, saying it was terrible. The meetings that I've watched (not last night), some of the camerawork has been dire. Last nights meeting I thought was very good watching it at the stadium, and the last two meetings have shown a much better bond and performance from the riders. Only they know why.2 points

It was on TV though, the crowd is not usually that small. But that is down the promoter to get people in when its on TV, Chapman has never done anything2 points

Buster said on the radio this morning that he had a choice of Lambert, Barker and Riss. Should have gone with Lambert on current form.2 points

According to the Speedway Star, Boughen's father was taken ill, and Ashton went home with him, neither realising that this was against the rules.2 points

He was saying about how he doesn't want to be there , the plan was for him to step back this year etc but his heart is still very much in it. Was talking about financial struggles and how the crowd levels are really poor and how the Lynn team is very expensive (assume that's mostly in reference to AL), and how he can't put any more money in as that's his pension money effectively. All sounded a bit bleak.2 points

The only bright spot on Eurosport is Nicholls, who is excellent. Anyone who hasn't tried it, watch BSN - much better coverage than Eurosport has ever provided.2 points

I think he was a victim of the empty promises from the second hand care dealer like a few on here and is understandably annoyed. A couple of riders like Ben Cook and Jordan Jenkins have got on with it to be fair, but this is the second year now Basso is riding in a crap team and environment.2 points

Another good meeting at Lynn with plenty of bad luck thrown in.. So unfortunate about Artem - I hope he makes a swift recovery. Klindt was fantastic - a true captain. I don't know much about how Pickering/Jakobsen were as captain but it's clear that Klindt is superb at it. Jorgensen battled really hard tonight too and Edwards is probably the nicest guy King's Lynn have ever had riding for them! Listening to Buster talk at the 'post-meeting conference' was quite sad. The future of the club really does seem uncertain.2 points

Yes, very sad news. He was a regular at the annual Norwich WSRA Dinner, so I met him many times over the last 20 years or so. A really nice bloke always happy to chat about his Yarmouth and Norwich days.2 points

We're all bored of your anti Buster crusade, stop polluting threads with it, go and make your own thread somewhere and leave us all alone. Agree. I started watching about an hour behind so have only just read the thread and it's full of absolute garbage. Thought that was a pretty good meeting, we are obviously struggling this season so all you can ask is for the team to give it their all and show some fight, and they did that. Unfortunately Laguta was never going to carry on after getting a knock but he was fully committed on track. Riss was either uninterested or unfit, you feel with a half decent guest we would have won that.2 points
