  1. What I don’t understand is why people are slagging off Buster for having to work to a budget. All successful businesses have to do this. I would rather that he pays what can be afforded and keep speedway going rather than overspend and bankrupt the club (as has been the case in some other clubs).

  2. Stewart Dickson has apparently offered to take over team management duties.

  3. Then you imagine wrong. Our company is in a very good place right now, still selling property, letting property, commercial, agriculture and auctions. People are still spending money, particularly high end property. We have a lot more income streams than you probably imagine with Redbook / Survey's and Probate work from Solicitors, as well as managing estates around the country. And any of the smaller agents, if they've put money aside during the Boom that we have just had, will ride it out if they manage it correctly. And for the work they do now, they'll put their fees up. Alex's company is very well known in our circles and his success with his partner Jamie is well documented. He must be the market leader I would have thought in Norfolk, or close to it. They also wont be the type of agent that "gives their service away for nothing". They'll command good fees for the work they do. So no, unlike British Speedway, we are not in a "deep mess right now". Cheers Richard.

  4. Perhaps others will reflect on this before continuing their tirade towards MT at Peterborough.

  5. My grandson Ethan attended speedway for the first time early last season after his family were gifted some free tickets for Sheffield from the charity "Bluebell Woods", and he was instantly hooked. My last speedway meeting I attended prior to 2022 was at Rye house but his enthusiasm for all things speedway re-ignited my enthusiasm and now we attend every week at Sheffield and we are also fairly regular at Leicester as well. Every day I get a phone call to discuss the latest postings about riders and teams on the various forums so I would say that Ethan is one of the new generation of speedway supporters ready to move forward into the future with this great sport of ours BUT are the powers that be ready to move the sport forward and give these new supporters something to support and follow?

  7. Just listen to the people who are telling you it’s personal reasons and not anything related to speedway, his business or the suchlike. Somethings in life are bigger than sport. Plus for what it’s worth, I believe Buster is honouring the Laguta deal. However I do believe Jakobsen has gone. Will probably be Pickering back in when fit, which I’d say will make us stronger, not weaker. Personally I’m sorry to see Alex leave. Sure he will admit he made mistakes but he’s ambitious and successful in business and wants the Stars to be up there challenging. Hopefully he’ll be back involved when the time is right.

  8. Joe Thompson has only finished 3rd 4 times at home this season when the opposition rider has actually completed the race One of those was Gilks Worryingly the other 3 times he has finished in front of an opponent who finished 4 laps were all against his brother who we have now signed!! So basically the only rider who Joe had beat consistently at Foxhall was Dan……

  9. i for one am gutted Alex needed to make this decision, i'm sure it's nothing club related, he just needs to sort things that are more important in life. hope to see him around still supporting the sport without the extra pressures

  10. I must admit I was surprised by last nights crowd at the NSS... I get Citeh were parading their trophies through Manchester, (and the crowd literally ran into several dozens) , but I thought more would come to watch Artem.. One thing is for certain, crowd levels alone certainly dont bring over the top riders... To get the best over here you need a sponsor willing to bankroll any deal I would suggest.. And that way of running a business is only as sound as the sponsors ongoing commitment... Sponsors money should really be the icing on the cake... Rather than being a large part of the cake itself... I have attended both Emil and Artem's meetings at the NSS and both showed fantastic talent.. Would I go and watch though when next in town? To be honest, given I get to see them ride regularly on my TV each week, then, quite probably, the answer will be no... Unless in a play off... Remember. Crowds dwindled quite significantly, and swiftly, whilst all the top names rode over here in the 90's and 00's.. Many more of them at the time, and, probably, more famous than those who ride over here today.. For several years I have always felt that a "reality check" would naturally end up being had, and that the clubs would simply reset, and organically put themselves in their "natural right league" for their fanbase level and financial backing.. With Covid in particular coming along and being that clear gift horse opportunity for radical long term focused reset and thinking... Instead, like so often, that desperately needed radical change and reset was avoided... If they were not going to do it then, then you can only presume the current malaise is their only plan... Brady seems to be a forward, modern, bright thinker... The type the sport need so much.. Let's hope he is soon back at the helm..

  11. What an absolute mess! Brady has clearly bitten off more than he can chew and bailed out. Anyone who thinks otherwise must be mental. Both Lynn and Peterborough in an absolute mess. Has British Speedway ever been in such a mess? Certainly not in my life time.

  12. "We should get Bartek in"... "Or Magic"... 'Or Woffy, in fact let's make two changes"... "Robert Lambert!!!".. Let's all risk the future of a club trying to win something that has, by the very nature of the way the competition is ran, little, credibility, relevance, kudos, or financial reward... A baffling view from so many fans... "Monkey Tennis"!!!!!!

  13. He is actually doing really well home and away in the Champ so far this season, so I wouldn't write that idea off. And you can never accuse him of not giving 110%!

  14. So I'm confused...I'm sure I read an article that Buster had no financial involvement in Kings Lynn to shut us lot up saying there is a conflict of interest but with Alex Brady now quitting I wonder who's funding them?

  15. Alex Brady is good for British speedway and is needed back but for now let him have his time away to sort out his personal issues. If he comes back for next season which I suspect I can assure you he will make lynn good again. all this laguta on 10k a meeting malarkey is way of the mark. It’s no way near that. And Infact if true what I heard laguta is quite cheap GKM stopping jakobsen riding could be a blessing for you guys if you can find the right person to replace him

  20. To be fair they’ve been on the rising star list all season and nobody else picked them either. Why didn’t Belle Vue pick either and instead go for Mulford? More to it then we realise I think. Ok Leicester have now recruited Kemp but it’s now June, but he’s an Ipswich asset and Leicester would have needed permission from Louis to do that deal and Louis has seemingly given his blessing despite needing to strengthen the RS spot himself so there’s definitely something going on there.

  21. Wouldn't be surprised to see Rowe at BV very soon leaving the Witches with the weakest RS again....

  22. Came up for this match welcomed on the door by promoter who thanked us for coming. He then proceeded to honestly explain to the fans that the management team were not happy with things and changes would be made shortly. I think you have a good set up at brum (last time I visited was 2012 Swindon ) when I think of all the work put in over the years to secure a venue I think it’s time if you do care about your team then return and watch each week then the club Iam sure will invest and improve otherwise it will be the end of the line just my opinion

  24. Saw up to and after the semi finals had been completed then switched over to the Champions League Final. Think it was then a foregone conclusion that Zmarzlik would win the final. In semi final 1 is it possible that Rob Lambert made a mistake in trying to pass Zmarzlik on bend 3 and in hindsight left too much room inside. I know it's a split second decision but I thought both Rob and Dan were without doubt 2 of the best riders on show and both can count themselves unfortunate not being in the Final.

  25. Barker is a 28 day injury replacement So just filling the void until Riss is back Witches aren't redeclaring as Riss isn't a new signing They can replace the RS without redeclaring, but any other changes to the 1-6 will mean they'd have to

  26. And Buster. People know they can go an various social media sites, spout crap and not be known, that's why they do it.You don't very often see people confronting the likes of Buster etc because they would rather hide behind a keyboard.

  27. Bit of a shock waking up this morning to see this. I think it may have been common knowledge that Alex has had personal issues over the last year, but I thought he was getting through OK,unfortunately not it seems.Social media doesn't help in these matters I suppose when people will no doubt give you constant abuse on all fronts.Best for many would not to go on social media or to have skin as thick as an elephant to let it go over their head. We have seen a little abuse on here towards him,I don't know what goes on,on Facebook etc as I don't do it as I think it is all a load of cobblers. Hopefully the months will pass and things will get a little easier for him and we can welcome him back.

  28. You can kiss goodbye to Laguta now, No way is Buster paying him 10k a night when KL's season is already over. Now we know why Tungate isn't showing up at Peterborough now.

  29. I think it's the sacking by text that has particularly irked him. I mean, I don't see how anyone sensible could disagree with the team change. Sacking by text is a bit Hortonesque though.

  30. Everyone at Leicester has a soft spot for the twins (having seen them start out as mascots), but getting axed, however unfair it may seem, is unfortunately part and parcel of the sport. The sooner they learn to accept it the better. In view of the lack of opportunities out there, they may have to learn to be tight lipped.

  33. No problem with working to a budget but teams in whatever league the management choose need to be competitive, if you cannot afford to be competitive in the Premier league then run in the Championship. I seem to recall Chapman’s King Lynn team did rather well in the Championship past decades.

  36. The question regarding speedway's future has to be where are the new fans. I began attending in 1975, for example: but who is the most recent first time attendee on here, for example? I guess most would say the 70s and 80s.

  37. Not really he must know Dan is better and Joe has been awful lately, probably should have snapped up Kemp, well done to Leicester for that.

  39. I was listing generic reasons for others. Didn't imply any financial issues at KL Clearly Housing Sales market is in for a very difficult spell with mortgage rates rising and products being pulled. The bloke is 100% right to focus on family, own business and wellbeing as priority.

  43. Pearson should be scoring 2 more points than most number 7s each match, otherwise they've used a 4.00 average for a 2.5 rider. Replace Pearson with Hagon & you can sign a 7+ rider (Batchelor, Andersen, Wethers) to replace the injured Wright.

  44. The attendance thing gets done to death on here. I’ll bet there’s more here tonight then any other club get on a TV night. We’re not all crammed in to a certain section though, the crowd are spread across a stadium with a 12000 capacity (biggest in the country).
