Good Afternoon All, Great to see such a positive reaction to Artem and also to Kye. I do check the forums occasionally and I thought I'd just send a message today to say thank you for the support and we hope to see as many of you as possible on Thursday and beyond - Your support keeps this club alive and I/We are thankful for every single one of you. People who think speedway should just be about opening the throttle are clueless Monmore is different and requires a different skill set …. Bewley looks fast but is not riding the right lines but his natural ability gets him there There has been lots of close racing and plenty of overtaking and not just from mistakes Those who constantly slate Wolves track are just clowns who would rather we had no speedway I guess Ive seen dull meetings at all tracks it happens Then we have people slagging off the presentation…. It’s not the best but it’s better than no speedway and I think Scott is superb … Abbie is fine and I just think Kelvin is a bit lost on his own but that shows how good Pearson actually was Call yourself speedway fans and all you do is moan9 points

Sometimes you just have to accept you were beat by a better team on the night . Redcar were excellent and thoroughly deserved the win . Good luck in the rest of the competition7 points

Are fans allowed opinions if they don't take the air fence down Alex? Asking for a friend6 points
-
What a rediculous comment, we need as many tracks as possible & can't afford to lose any.6 points
-
Not sure why people are moaning I thought that was a good meeting. Good racing, track decent and a last heat decider. Been a great day of racing between these two teams. Both of these teams will be in the play offs.5 points

Can you ask the SCB about why they have revoked the sittingbourne track licence for 12 months suspended ?4 points

2 good meetings. A great day of speedway. wolves might have picked up the most points but overall I say speedway was the winner. hope to god wolves return next season as bank holiday double headers are a great day4 points

Redcar we’re class tonight no complaints we were well and truly demolished by a very good team well done to the Bears great all round display. No back up to Bomber,, Claus, and Tom was our downfall.3 points
-
And Tai Woffinden. Have to mention them all if any, I'm sure it was a genuine error on Skidder's part.3 points
-
Damn will just have to go to the Speedway...then GP in the evening.3 points

Kelsey Dugard released and Luke Harrison is fit to ride, thanks to Kelsey for all your efforts for the Comets , get well soon .3 points

Not sure why you are being so defensive. Getting passed easily would be a symptom of not being good enough would it not? Every race we saw on Eurosport showed P'boro riders busting a gut to either stay in front or try and pass the rider in front if them. Its insulting to professional sportsmen to say that they dont care, aren't trying hard enough or don't have the balls for the fight. And that's my opinion thanks3 points

Awful post . Lee is an out and out racer he may not be the best but always gives 100%2 points

No dust but the track was so deep to the extent only Harris and Vissing for the home team could ride it early on. Did the riders really ask for it this way or did we do this by design to put off Redcar and it backfired? Novak was uninterested after ht1, Pijper came down heavily in ht2 and struggled until it slickened off in later heats, as did most of the team whilst getting a gating lesson from Redcar. From the outside looking in it doesnt look like we gave ourselves the greatest opportunity to win the meeting. The tie was already gone.2 points

Broken finger !!!! I remember watching Kenny Carter being carried out of, and back into the pits with a broken leg at Oxford in a qualifier for the British Final, and it was pretty much drizzle all day and throughout the meeting. Mind you his leg was only broken in 4 places.2 points

Complin was not a good signing IM0.plenty of effort but the bike still has to carry his weight!2 points

Outrageous roller from Kerr in heat 9 which the whole stadium saw except the Ref Durno.2 points

You might be interested to know that the marker post from Blackbird Road is in my garage. It's a white disc with a red centre. It's alongside one of the lamp shades that came from the track lights. I scrounged them off the demolition firm when the were tearing the stadium down. At one stage there was talk of a speedway museum in the plans for the new track at Beaumont Leys but that, along with other things in the original plans, never came to fruition. So they remain in my garage!2 points
-
I was under the impression that the 30yd marker was for riders couldn’t be assisted after the marker at the start of a race.( could be wrong though).2 points

Don't give them ideas they'll be signing Bart Simpson, Paul Daniels and Wolf from Gladiators2 points

I was going through some old tapes when I found sone very amateur footage of the 2006 ELRC at Poole which I had forgotten I filmed from my position in the grandstand. I had no way of capturing this so steamed it to my tv and filmed off it with my iPhone. There is a little reflection but it’s watchable for standard definition. A couple of the riders are still active like Pedersen, Nicholls, KK. Many have retired but good to see Adams, Loram, Hancock, Hamill, Wiltshire, Jensen, Crump and Boyce throwing it about and Adam Shields, Simon Stead and others making up the numbers. Don’t think footage of this meeting is available anywhere else. Pretty good final as well.2 points

Peterborough v Boston, Boston v Peterborough and Kings Lynn v Poland, then the drive back to Wolverhampton !2 points

Yeah it's slightly unfortunate but live Speedway wins out every time for me personally. Hopefully too nice a day to sit in watching footy anyho.2 points
-
Hopefully Terry will get the necessary medical clearance today to allow him to be at Wimborne Road with Gareth (his son) for Wednesday's meeting.2 points

The club shouldn't sit on it's a$$ and just admire itself though, they still need a new site asap.2 points

Little talk going round the pits last night that we have secured the eoes for another year ! Good news if true2 points

You pays your money and you takes your choice. He's either the saviour of British Speedway because he'll take any booking that's going, for any team, even late notice when his "own" teams meeting has been cancelled a few hours beforehand... Or, along with others, he's made a complete mockery of Speedway as a team sport in the UK. Driving hundreds and thousands away from the sport. That's bigger picture stuff. On this occasion as Captain of the Leicester Lions speedway team he should have been at the EoEA to Captain his team imo. The team that gives him the bread and butter of his earnings. There's never been a queue of foreign clubs wanting to sign him even when he was at the top of his game. He's (been allowed to) become a running joke within our sport and when he's riding for a club you don't follow its all very funny, when he's riding for a club you do follow and is the so called Captain of that team, patience starts to wear thin. Lions got lucky last night that Basso broke a finger nail and pulled out, otherwise it would have been a Panthers victory.2 points
-
Thats a broken finger I feel, not going comment on if he could have continued to ride or not - but I have had broken fingers and also a thumb at various times playing rugby / football and I can assure you it is very painful and can restrict hand usage / co-ordination etc2 points
-
Looks like the rule has possibly been changed. You definitely couldn't resign a rider you'd dropped previously, unless it was a like for like injury replacement, which this isn't.2 points
-
I seen him heading into the female toilets as well ,before meeting started2 points
-
Tonight was my first visit to the Showground and I thought that the racing was top notch. That was because I saw all riders having a real go and Bagpuss is right, the outcome was down to that little bit of quality on top of effort. Criticism of the Panthers’ riders is a little harsh. It was a little sad driving back to Leicester knowing that was likely to be my only visit to this track. Now that I’ve seen the place, I’m more frustrated than ever to see yet another(…..yawn….) great track disappear into the history books.2 points
-
Monmore Green has been around for many many years, do "fans" expect the club to just abandon the stadium because the track is on the small side & riders who have only learnt to go flat out can't ride it?2 points

Three meetings in a day for my family was Rayleigh for speedway in the morning, then stay for the Stock Cars and Bangers in the afternoon followed by a dash back to Wimbledon for the evening Speedway meeting. I have done an Arena Essex Speedway meeting followed by a Mildenhall Stock Cars and Bangers meeting in the evening which resulted in me commentating at Mildenhall that evening due to their regular commentator being ill and the promotor being very unhappy behind the microphone. EDIT - I also had a wonderful day with my parents going to Cradley for a USA v England Speedway Test Match on a Saturday afternoon followed by the BriSCA F1 Stock Cars at Coventry in the evening. Sadly it was our only ever visit to Cradley but it was certainly one of our maddest trips as I drove a Reliant Robin in those days.2 points
-
Well I enjoyed that - slightly mystified that the adverts break just shows replays - also some odd gaps in the presentation but otherwise for a neutral it was an enjoyable close meeting - well done both sides I like them showing the odd races from Peterborough as well - and Scott was a decent expert in residence with his analysis.2 points
-
Well, as a neutral, I thought it was a decent enough meeting. Racing wasn’t always thrilling but a close contest and a last heat decider. Seen a lot worse.2 points
-
Picked a stone up from where I was stood on the back straight tonight and you certainly wouldn’t want that coming towards your finger at any kind of velocity2 points
-
I don’t know why Rob Godfrey gets a bad press Scunny made two changes to the side , the rider they brought in scored 5 pts iN 5 meetings so he made another change and I’ll guarantee the other 8 promoters in the league would have done exactly the same2 points
-
Was a bit worried when 8 down and still had H13 to come but did well to pull it back. Would have taken a two point loss before the start.1 point
-
Yeah, I'm with you on that one this week. He's a weak link. Marcin not good tonight but has been in other home matches. Ace was always going to find it harder tonight as he learns to ride the track in different conditions but he made a pass before his crash in his first heat and made two cracking passes in his last. Lee's just been off the pace. He looks entertaining but half the time it's because he's struggling to stay on the bike.1 point

According to another user KK has already put his UK equipment up for sale...1 point

I am not sure whether he/she actually supports a club.I think he/she just likes to post rubbish on here for reactions which he/she invariably gets.1 point

Great to see some 'inter-club co-operation' with Poole's Centregreen Presenter Nigel Leahy sorting out Laguta's visa paperwork!1 point

No doubt you would have slagged him off if he hadn't signed the picture and ignored the lad. I don't suppose you offered to carry his kit bag or offer your medical opinion?1 point

Kings Lynn are signing who I believe is still the best rider in the world (just personal opinion) but we’re still scratching about claiming there’s no no.1’s available, if you stuck a half decent heat leader in that position it probably wouldn't even be a bad side even if the rest stayed the same. Think even the most deluded Panther supporter might wake up soon.1 point
-
All four Pirates come through tonight unscathed and in decent form. Lawson had a solid meeting and we should be at full strength for tomorrow night. Looking forward to it.1 point

I remember doing 3 meetings in 1 day back in the good old days, Kings Lynn in the morning, Ipswich in the afternoon, and Hackney in the evening. Miss those times.1 point
