As we thought Luke is fit to ride but is lacking race fitness, Proud of the young man yesterday a slide off when over compensating for his injury then to lay it down to avoid Sam who had slid off in front of him in heat 9. And to go out again in heat 11 when asked was a step too far and he pulled up as he was struggling. We as a family took huge positives from this got his lap in and the first meeting since his crash is out the way.9 points

Remember everyone, if you want an opinion, to get there for 5pm to assist in putting the air fences up, cleaning the bogs and getting that white line ready. Many thanks8 points

Well what can I say about my 1st & certainly won't be my last visit to the Northside Arena for meeting against Berwick yesterday... Absolutely brilliant views of all the track & cracking racing... Well worth the £13.00 entry fee & also got a suntan happy days... But TBH the whole set up is very very good & it'll only improve which will be even better so WORKY good luck in the future7 points

Having read what was said, you wouldn't visit another business that talked down to you that way. Shocking way to talk to customers.5 points

I would just like to comment on some of the earlier posts. Like you I was extremely disappointed not to have publicised this meeting a lot more. It's my forte, because I totally believe in what we offer as a product. However, the reason why none of this happened was, because in reality we only knew we were going for it 10 days (maximum) before with a lot of risk, but really, we had just three days. (we almost drew up a plan to run it on the island) I wont go in to the why or how, but you can all draw your own conclusions as to why. We didnt promote it hard due to the not actually knowing if we were on or not, and I didnt want to put even more egg on the face of our sport. However, we probably did just enough in the few days we had... perhaps that was what the intension of others, who knows. Rest assured, moving forward, it will be better promoted, even better presentation, an even better day out. Taking an idea to another stadium is a challenge, we had to get know volunteers quickly, show them how we do things, learn from them too, which we did and we had a great day..... Anyways, the blueprint has left the island now and for sure, it will grow more.5 points

That's always been the way though through the internet era. They put in a lot of time and effort in both good and bad times, as well as money but then get slagged off continuously by some who think that their attendance gives them the right to say what they want. Well it does to a point, but without full facts then can it always be justified? As Bratters once said, it's not what you say it's the way that you say it. As someone has already said, they are only human and not prepared for the vitriol that often comes their way. Someone once told me that Frost/Mahoney were shocked and not prepared, so you can see how less skilled people might react. As for running the club into the ground, it's important that fans don't get dragged down with the regime of the current owner at this crucial time. There have been many many more good years (for club and city profile) than bad and those times have to be forefront in the club's effort to survive and hold AEPG/PCC to account.4 points

Not sure there were enough cameras to give the ref a good enough view to make a more informed decision. It was one of those that will divide opinion, I was on the back straight and thought Worrall was at fault and the bloke next to me said it was Edwards fault. It was a racing incident and nothing malicious in it from either rider. Had no effect on the overall result and fortunately Edwards wasn’t hurt. Time to move on I think.4 points

I’ll do better than that.I’ll pick him up from school, and drive him there myself..4 points

Some of us Panthers fans are baffled by it too, sometimes you just know a rider will come good even when not scoring to great, I thought that with Ben Cook, never concerned3 points

Don't know if any Peterborough fans saw in the Champ section that Piratecast are doing a live show on YT that will include some Q+A 's with Ben Cook this Thursday at 7pm. I am sure they will welcome any questions from Peterborough fans if anyone is interested. As I am sure they will ask about him riding in the Prem as well, although it will be more Poole based stuff.3 points

Glad to see Ben Cook in such good form. The only saving grace from this season so far.3 points

The first 30 minutes intro was good, Nicholls replacing Ermolenko good move, but then went down hill no co-commentator, Kelvin on his own and the camera angles are awful!3 points

heard an interview with Steve Cooper Forest boss (Football) today Signed loads of players, spent loads of money, survived in the premier league he thanked supporters for sticking by the club during the season, said at times it was tough as supports would question his recruitment, his tactics, his team selection etc. but he also added "and quite rightly so they should be able to question it as they are supporters of the club, its their club and their right to have their opinion" but he added ultimately they have been supportive and that their support will always be with him etc. etc. etc. Put this into Speedway perspective, fans purchase season tickets or go to individual meetings paying their £22, they are supporters of the club first and foremost not supporters of who is in charge, or maybe the riders etc. they are supporters of the club and if things are not going well they can question it to the hills like in any sport without having access to the full facts - at least in some sports (football) things such as attendances, accounting, players transfer fees, wages to some degree are always made public or you have access to information via certain mediums Speedway is a closed shop which really brings it on themselves. Any PBoro fan paying just £22 once this season to attend one meeting should be able to criticise, any fan that has been in the past likewise, fans are the bloodline for any speedway club, at least football would/could survive without fans due to having a huge commercial industry with their TV deals Johnson should have kept quiet and just concentrated on getting the riders firing and hopefully replacing Nicki Tomalin should keep his mouth shut, his veneers are obviously too short, if someone on his staff spoke online to one of his car customers the way he spoke to a few fans, they'd be sacked Time for them to deliver something for the fans in the present in terms of results on track, fans I dont expect them to deliver on anything for 2024 as people understand it takes time3 points

The other meeting is basically 1 camera with an uplink. They don’t have the multiple cameras and infrastructure to just switch to show that meeting in full, and nor will they ever because of the sheer cost of doing that. And the director and all the production staff / trucks are at the main meeting. Plus who decides a meeting is boring, probably not Leicester fans tonight.2 points

Only idiots and morons would expect more from Ben Cook in his first season in the top flight. He has big potential. Anyone with knowledge of the sport can spot the talent a mile away.2 points
-
For the life of me, why some were saying he needs to go is totally beyond me. Such a talent and tonight showed. If there is someone that needs too go then it’s Hans for me, absolutely awful, he’s the major weak link and the fact he’s captain is just crazy2 points
-
Terrible way for Hans Andersen to depart the club after giving us years of service but it has to be done. Hans hasn't done himself any favours by re-signing after 2022 imo.2 points

if we’re getting turned over like that by Peterborough whatever is going to happen against Sheffield Thursday night! It’s embarrassing!!! strength in depth working wonders, maybe strength in depth is a another saying for cheap and cheerful!2 points

I did but not because of form reasons, Wasn't expecting Ben to ride like that tonight or all season to be fair due to a lack of experience but fair play to the young lad. Phenomenal stuff from him.2 points

Problem is you get tired of making the same observations over and over again, knowing full well nothing will change. The other problem is, your enthusiasm for the sport becomes subject to the laws of diminishing returns until you lose interest in the sport altogether!!!2 points

There's been a noisy contingent of Sheffield fans chanting for most of the night... mainly slagging off Belle Vue2 points

Said that after the panthers visit to foxhall but was shot down by many who said he wasn't doing well enough. Will definitely progress if he hopefully avoids injury.2 points

Was really looking forward to seeing some league racing on tv for the first time in a long while. This meeting as been very poor on a number of levels. One wonders why they didn't do the wolves meeting instead of this one? After the first few heats was inclined to switch it off, but stayed with it to see if it improved. Overall very disappointing advert for speedway. The commentating seems very tired, as if they have lost interest in the proceedings too.2 points

Wonder why they took him out of H11 esp when Lynn doing a tac? Unless they want him to do H15. Otherwise he would have already done 7 rides!2 points

Not quite as good as the meeting from Torun yesterday is it? In fact the only similarity appears to be that the camera man is filming from somewhere in Poland...2 points

The 2nd Tier should have two British U21 riders per team ring fenced for 3 rides a night each... And then move up organically as they progress, (or not as the case may be).. The Poles reap what they saw in this regard.....2 points

Since I returned to watching Speedway in 1988, there has been Screen, Havelock, Louis, Loram, Woffy, Lambert and Bewley that I have seen their whole career unfold, with all of them clearly being of a much higher standard than their contemporaries at a similar age.. You do have a certain "glide path" it seems which suggests you really need to be a top league HL within three or four years to continue your progress to the top, with a No1 berth five or six years in being the target.. If your not in GP's seven or eight years or so into your career then your level is pretty much set.. Not many do a "Jason Doyle" and almost overnight, it appeared, go from reserve to World Class... Looking at how many Poles, (and other Eastern Europeans), Swedes and Danes are coming through at U24 level, the UK lads have some serious challenges on to break through to the higher levels..2 points

The fact is though that the club is currently being run really really badly, there is no communication with the fans, we are facing closure, we haven't got a full team, we haven't won in nearly a year, we have become the laughing stock of what is already a sub standard premier league and then the fans who care vent they're frustration only for it to turn into a slanging match with our so called management team on Facebook...Its just so unprofessional and is not a good look especially when so many promises and false hopes were fed to us at the start of the season. I think in this case our fans are entitled to demand answers.2 points

The only buzzing going on in Peterborough is the noise in Johnson's and Tomalin's head... I always had a soft spot for Peterborough for some reason but the way they've been 'interacting' with their loyal supporters as of late has put me right off, it's a shame because I was so excited to visit Peterborough for the first time this season (I went the night Nicki fell) and it wasn't a very enjoyable meeting and now this, nah... Think I'll follow someone else instead. Couldn't run a bath.2 points

So it appears that Edwards taken off by Worrall due to Worrall turning for the bend. Edwards could not turn right or leave turning for the bend as that would put him in the fence. Worrall had to turn when he did as if he kept going straight he would have hit the fence and taken Edwards with him. Given where they were on the track it is my understanding of the rules that Worrall is allowed to ride the line he wishes and from the various comments above it seems he stuck to an inside line which is the reasonable way to race. Maybe with more experience Edwards would not have put himself in the position he was and would therefore have avoided the crash. A simple case where two riders racing lines cross paths and in that situation the rider who is behind is the one who will be deemed to be the cause of any crash.2 points

And they are the ones sny business should "listen" to... If you are there then 30 races for 30 quid is VFM to you as you must be interested in all those 30 races.. The majority of fans at most tracks I would say would not see it as VFM as they simply will have no interest in standing around for circa 3 hours watching something that they are only interested in half of what's on offer.. The predictions on here of a poor crowd was hardly "mystical" was it? Common sense dictated that this would be the outcome... Presume Berwick effectively "closed down" due to all the street parties that day?2 points

I've Decided to leave the Speedway forum site, the Peterborough page is not a good place to visit, for anyone who simply wants to enjoy their speedway.2 points

In the U K some moan about day time racing, some moan about Sunday meetings but look what you can do with the right riders, an enthusiastic group of supporters and even with the earlier abandoned meeting, the Poles know how to put on a show. U K speedway is so far behind and anyone who has not dropped in on a live stream from Poland should give it a go. You wonder why anyone bothers with speedway U.K.2 points

There can't be another sport where those running/connected with teams are so obsessed with moaning about keyboard warriors and making unprofessional comments/statements. What do they think it's actually going to achieve? There's not one club who can afford to alienate their supporters, if just 1 person decides 'I've had enough' after reading them, how are you replacing that £300+? If you can't handle a few critical comments then maybe either don't put yourself in that position or stay off social media. Whatever you do, it should be pretty simple to understand you don't start having a pop at your supporters because you need them.2 points

With the amount of guests and use of RR they may as well scrap the race nights and just go with what is best Teams will then build sides with riders who would be available for their home meetings more often than not, away sides will likely see the use of guests and RR Depends on how many fixtures as surely they could work around Sweden/Denmark fixtures, perhaps less meetings with more completed sides is better than cramming in loads of meetings with loads of unavailability1 point
