Ambition and the desire to widen his horizons and ride abroad more often I'd guess, having ridden for GB in both the European Team meetings too. One could argue that he won't improve at his age and should have been doing this years ago but at the same time we shouldn't really knock any Brits who are taking opportunities to ride on the continent and out of their comfort zone when possible.7 points

For me, For No1. All the riders can take as many of his rides as the Manager wants. With every rider not allowed to take more than 7 in total. That would mean both HL's could (if the manager wanted), take all the missing riders rides and also do Ht 15.. For riders HL's 3 and 5. The other HL who is available takes two, (leaving him available for H15), and SS's/Reserves takes the other two depending on who the Manager chooses.. For missing SS's 2 and 4. The other SS takes three and one of the reserves takes one. (Or the manager may decide to give the reserves all the rides if they are performing well).. For 6. The SS above takes two and the seven takes two. (Most teams will swap SS and No6's through the season as they are pretty close average wise at most tracks, so no major advantage, and if there is, you most likely lose it with an RS at No7).. For 7 missing. The No6 takes two and a No8 takes two.. (Again, you may gain with the No6, but also lose out at No8).. Plenty of extra rides for the riders which is what so many want, (and is really it appears a purpose of UK Speedway), and a credible offering to the public.. But what if another rider got injured? Then some IRR would need adapting like now. Bottom line is 7 man teams could all get injured on the same night given the dangerous nature of what takes place so you cannot plan for every eventuality... At least every meeting would start with that teams contracted riders, not adhoc ringers..6 points

People keep saying Tomalin should buy the club, what if Buster has slapped an absolutely outrageous price tag on it? Which he probably has. if Tomalin wants to buy the club and invest in a new stadium and it wont happen because Chapman is asking for way too much then you can absolutely understand why their fans are against him. at the end of the day, it cant be worth much at all. Its a failing business in a stadium that isnt theres. A few rider assets which are next to worth next to nothing anyway, along with a couple of tractors and an airfence? It is more than likely Chapman wants to sell it for more than he paid for it and Tomalin being a good business man wont pay the money for something that he feels isn't worth it. You could view it as Buster being a good businessman and wanting to make a profit too i guess but seeing as he has no intentions of moving the club to a new stadium, and this being there last at the Showground, I would be pretty p****d off as a Peterborough fan as well.6 points

Doctors have said 6 to 8 weeks will have a better idea after follow up scans in early may. Regardless of what doctors say he won't ride until we decide he's fit enough.5 points

If anyone wants the truth I'd recommend speaking with either Rob Lyon or Michael Tomalin. Both are very deflated characters and whilst I haven't spoken to him I'd imagine Carl Johnson is the same. Those 3 want to not only save Peterborough Speedway but see it thrive. Yes there's business deals to be done and much negotiation I'm sure, however 2024 isn't just a pipe dream it can be the reality but these people need us fans now. On the track only the above is going to give us a positive future and I'd love to thank Buster and Allit for saving the club and the league title but their time is up at Peterborough and it's time they handed it over.4 points

It's a very different situation though? If he's representing GB having been asked then it's not really letting his club down whereas Pedersen did a deal then cleared off after half a lap.4 points

If only he had somebody he could borrow kit from, i don't know, say a brother... then he could have done that4 points

Basso just cant handle pressure as a heat leader with expectation on his shoulders He was going so wide in the bends i thought he was off to Venice sight seeing with Worrall3 points

And last one out, turn the lights off... I used to feel some pity for those who still attend regularly with that misguided belief that what they are paying their hard earned to watch has some relevance, and authenticity... Then I reconsidered and realised that the same people two weeks ago were probably trying to fathom out on that Sunday morning why the Easter Bunny hadnt delivered them any chocolate eggs.. And the same people will have written to Father Christmas every year for the past 40 or so in early January, asking for an explanation as to why he, once again, hadn't delivered them any presents like he used to regularly when they were small... Even those die hards though must question why they bother sometimes, and that is a dangerous place for the sport (in the UK), to be in, as you cannot keep taking people for granted...3 points

Which Is why he probably never signed for Wolves in the end as it wasn’t worth it - once again, making the guest system look a total farce.3 points

Gotta echo all these comments about Richie Worrall, if he has to leave early to race tomorrow, what was the original plan for today? Why would Panthers keep that a secret from their fans? Similar to Wolves not announcing Harris instead of Nicholls, what do they gain by not being honest in their pre-match previews?3 points

He's been around long enough to know that it comes with the territory. I'm sure that he's had plenty from Lynn. Peterborough had the Swales laying in to forums, Frost calling out the keyboard warriors many times, including calling some supporters (although he'd dispute that) worthless, and Hans saying that he has better things to do than read & bother about internet forums. Bratters had his moments with forums as well. Running two clubs on a budget to make up the numbers might have been laudable at the time but even you must see that speedway for the sake of it without ambition or success isn't going to receive high praise and thanks. Yes it's always great to be running but it always goes pear shaped pretty quickly (2021 was a lucky/freak year when everything fell in to place) and that's how it stays.3 points

Absolutely. Little excuse for Buster's two clubs to not strengthen on the back of the Wolves postponement for the sake of the two crowds.3 points

I think Panthers will do a lot better than most expect, I'll go for: Belle Vue 48 - 42 Peterborough3 points

Nothing to do with snowflakery but about having a bit of decorum and class. @Flappy has had plenty of strong opinions tonight but can convey them without abuse or swearing. If you can't perhaps the forum isn’t the place for you and you should toddle off to the cesspit that is social media instead.2 points

Very Ironic in the fact that one Panthers owner let a Holder go and another won't let a Holder in2 points

The solid team would have worked after covid as all teams were missing the foreign stars but now the league is much stronger it’s much less effective. This is the third year running the lynn team has been poor and still the same faces are there.2 points

I'd rather just put Joe n Dan in at reserve and use British talent . I can guarantee pretty much most of the Leicester fans aren't bothered the least about it. It's lost all its integrity and it never really had any to start with.2 points

I actually think its pretty clever from Poole manage keeping their riders active. I was looking at Glasgow's fixtures and the amount of free weeks is ridiculous, for example no home match between 4th may and 2nd June!! Fair play to Poole keeping riders busy and the fans interested. I mean this meeting alone is obviously nonsense but treating it for what it is it's a good idea imo2 points

From Leszno Chris Holder underwent detailed MRI tests today that were carried out in Poznan. C5 cervical fracture was found in the player The Australian's break in starts will probably last between 8 to 10 weeks. We will inform about the further course of the rehabilitation in a while. We wish our player a speedy recovery!2 points

It just shows that even the riders dont take the team aspect in the UK too seriously doesnt it? Especially with zero sanction, which suggest that this kind of thing is condoned... It is a joke, I agree, but then again, it's very much in keeping with the usual operating model policy of "make it up as you go along lads"...2 points

What's the rules and regs for a rider racing abroad the next afternoon? One assumes our governing body have given Worrall permission to be absent tonight.2 points

As for a Sheffield running R/R for Tobi, pre the call off of Wolves v Leicester guests were from Ipswich only, Doyle too high, Emil fly’s in and out for meetings only plus unsure if he can guest whilst on assessed average, that leaves King only, pretty sure that those eligible to tak an R/R ride for Sheffield (Holder, Ellis, Bellego, Howarth & Kerr) would equal or better what King would have got so at that point R/R was best way forward, now that Kings Lynns 2022 number 1 is available it makes sense to get him in to cover Tobi2 points

I'm not going to knock Bomber as he would have been the first name on my teamsheet this season but this Panthers team in general is clearly not competitive so I can't understand why moves haven't been made as it's the owners who will get hit in the pocket when our season is all but over on May 8th..2 points

Don't know what could possibly be "suspect" about this match being off, 2 full strength teams (I count using Nicholls as being at full strength) plus loads of publicity over the stadium, could have led to a massive crowd. I'm sure the last thing Wolves would want is a postponement!2 points
-
Two questions: 1) what was the original plan for Worrall before Harris became available today? Just keep quiet and let fans find out at 7:30 tonight. 2) Which Peterborough rider is doing the interview on BSN tonight saying how Richie Worrall has let their side down ala Nicki Pedersen?2 points

Theres a clause in all Busters contracts for riders he likes they have to dress up as a secretary and entertain him whilst he sits and counts his money2 points

Can you name anyone on his average you'd replace him with? Ellis would be converted pren average probably too high, rasser I think was over 9 in his spell with us. Guests are better than the alternatives imo2 points

I will be staying at home and saving my money, fed up with Dale getting his mates in the team. I have been going over 40 years now and this is the first time I can’t be bothered to go. need a forward thinking promotion who want to promote and not just expect people to turn up and pay there hard earned money for a weak assembled team.2 points

Archie had an early complication and returned to hospital. He was then discharged. Since then he has had assessments and treatment and now been advised that the breaks are now healing well and he is looking forward to making a good recovery.2 points
