  1. Don't be taken in by the haters, Roy is a master of his art and I would imagine he is the first person recruited every year. There have been meetings when he's been absent and the atmosphere was subdued. Honestly some people have no sense of fun. If you are following this thread Roy keep up the good work, it's such a shame that some people lead such miserable lives that they feel impelled to have a dig at someone who lives life to the full, you are part of the show and the attendances at Redcar speak volumes

  2. Seen it before I'm afraid! It takes a lot to change it around. I stand by my opinion when the signing was announced. What were they thinking??!

  3. In fairness he had a pretty poor 2022 all round, he already looks like a different rider this season. Very shrewd signing for a month.

  6. Given it is British Speedway, could Chris Holder sign for both Peterborough and Kings Lynn? Same bloke in charge of both so technically some synergy to it... Could maybe do a double change and bring in Batch too for both teams... Worth asking Phil Morris?

  8. He wont have earned enough to get as far as Rotherham....

  9. He did in the 2021 play off final. He scored 14+1...

  10. He's the sort of announcer who makes you long for old age and the sweet release of going deaf... absolutely awful

  11. I think it's a triple header with the 2022 Jubilee Trophy Final and the 4's isn't it?

  13. He (Hancock) did... but I suppose once you commit you look a bit silly if you change your mind

  14. Allit the same person who also celebrated Peterborough’s league win… chaps nothing but a fraud, who has his favourites which are untouchable, probably in the shower with Jorgenson now!

  15. I’ll even drive Richie down the A47 for them

  16. If Nicki P is not returning to Pboro and they are making two changes R Worrall being the other as rumoured I say dump KK and re sign Ritchie asap
    2 points
  17. Sack KK and sign R. Worrall. Easy for Buster to take Richie out of the Panthers 1-7 and place him in the KL 1-7.

  18. You have to admire KK's consistency...

  19. Always liked Scotty, always gives his best even when things are not going so well.

  20. It's not like you dont have fair warning with KK is it?. "It depends which KK turns up"... "He could be a steal on that average".... Etc. Etc. Etc.... Until you hear... "Get Chris Holder in"....

  21. Why would you have to explain? As far as a newbie is aware those are the 7 riders, all you need to say is so and so is injured so we need a guest to cover.you can explain exclusions or tacticals but this post is typical of this forum and other sites who jus go to the speedway book of phrases ie...another nail in..a joke.they make it up as they go along I can't imagine a newbie going home saying they can't understand why a guest was allowed in this case as they won't probably know what one is

  22. Very quiet on here from the Poole fans on a home meeting BUT, then again, they are frequenting every body else's threads.

  23. Looks a fairly easy routine home win. 55-35. Early results can often spring a surprise so Lynn fans will be hoping it’s a score reversal!

  25. A guest for a non speedway injury in another country! Try explain that to a new supporter !

  26. It was pretty much business as usual for Pirates who were far from firing on all cylinders. Worrall and Lawson were below par. The Cooks continued on from last season and will only get better. Rowe unsurprisingly had a poor first ride from gate two in heat one but did his job. Kyle was excellent and will get lots of rides while at reserve until the first GS. Roynon was on a 5-1 in heat two but slid off when we’ll clear of the Oxford reserves. For Oxford, Masters looked untouchable until it started to rain and then didn’t want to know. Nicholls was brilliant all night. Heeps did his usual start the season well meeting. Jenkins was woeful but is better than that. Killeen was unlucky when on a 5-1 having an ef then in another ride sliding off when challenging Steve Worrall. Pirates will be at the top end of the league, there’s little doubt. A good crowd last night, and when you consider the forecast and many crying off what it could have been. Think Oxford are in for another successful season crowd wise. Yes there were a lot of Poole fans there swelling it, but good anyway.

  27. That may or may not be the case - I don’t know! BUT who appointed Tomalin and Johnson in the first place? All I do know is if this is to be Panthers last season at the Eoes it’s already looking like a huge disaster after just one meeting which is so terribly sad!!!

  28. Perhaps he is more than justified? Always more than meets the eye in decisions that are made like this.

  29. Roynon would have had paid 5 if he hadn't fallen in heat 2. That would be a pretty decent contribution from the weaker reserve away from home.

  30. I preferred it when the top 2 averaged riders had to be at 1+5 (either was round), guaranteed the top 4 riders (statistically) would be in heat 13 - good for the fans!

  31. Good luck to young Ace on his first Championship meeting on Friday. Just go out and enjoy the occasion with no pressure it will be a big learning curve for him.

  32. With respect to a tin pot club like Grudziadz, we we are the Peterborough Panthers.

  33. Normal procedure at the late lamented Coventry was for both teams to bring out their bikes and be presented in front of the main stand. When the intros were over, they would all get on their bikes and do as many practice laps as they wanted until the CO (or later Colin Pratt) appeared on-track to signal the end of practice. Usually 5-10 minutes. Strictly no practice starts on the bends or the CO would have your wotsits for garters.

  34. What an awful poster this is. It’s 2023 and people are still running with the “no brakes no fear, fun for all the family” line. Why not go the whole hog and advertise the opening match of the season with two guests too?

  35. So first time since 2007 & I made opening night. I think with this team it has the feel of 98 & I’ll be back for more than my one of two visits a season. as for the team the top two speak for themselves. Emil’s style reminds me of Rickardsson. Rew will need a few meetings but looked more at home as the night went on. Hume will get Better. Not sure on Thompson as yet. my main concern is Riss and only because on the tight track he doesn’t seem fit. all in all I enjoyed my trip & I’m feeling confident

  39. How can the promotion / so called management sit by and watch this? The writing is on the wall, too much of a delay and it will he too late. Why oh why do they get it so wrong year on year???????

  40. I think its worth remembering he was averaging 8 for Rye House when he last rode here. Not saying I want him gone after two meetings but he needs to show something in the next two or three matches or it would seem pretty pointless persevering with him. Shutting off into bends is a massive alarm bell already.

  41. To take 6 or 7 rides, he's have to replace Sedgmen & one of the top 4 (or go in heat 15). Even if he rides well 5 rides is the most he will get imo

  42. Buster has been getting slated for weeks,, but now they are gonna want him to stick his hand in his pocket and pull off a good signing. Maybe he will give it the big F U

  43. Is it confirmed Nicki isn’t coming back or just hyperbole on this thread?

  44. I don't get the point you are making here, Worrall has been signed as a second string (he's 4th in the averages) regardless of where he is positioned in the team - the top 3 don't have to ride at 1,3&5. The team manager then puts the riders where he thinks it will benefit the team. If Worrall riding at 3 hurts the team in heat 12, surely Basso counters that in heat 14?

  45. Tomlin's that guy that will advertise a load of supercars for his auction yet it's B reg Ford Escort's & Vauxhall Nova's on show

  46. Back to the best format in my opinion but I did prefer it when the semi-finals were at different venues to the race-off/final. Thought it added some variety to the week, whereas four meetings at the same venue (without a home nation for first three) might get a bit stale by the end. It was always nice to get behind your country at a local meeting and feel a part of the World Cup week. Also saw some really good tracks like Vastervik and Bydgoszcz that don't come around too often.

  47. There can't be anything wrong with that rule, otherwise they would have changed it for 2023. The majority of the promoter's must judge it an acceptable situation for a rider to get injured in his first match & be allowed guests for the rest of the season!
