Laughable? Doyle and Emil had both been beaten by Basso who is a 6 point rookie. Id say its more laughable to suggest Pedersen couldnt of popped out of the gate to beat one or both of those, considering how well hes done in Poland so far this season.3 points

Really? Heat 1 - Pedersen on the wrong end of a 5-1 when he crashed Heat 6 - Basso gets beat by Sayfutdinov Heat 10 - Iversen gets a 5-1 Heats 13 and 15 no chance Sorry I dont think Pedersen would have done any better Rew - next big superstar from oz3 points

My guess Putin following the meeting on Speedway updates to see how his buddy Emil is doing lol3 points

Shame to see Ed Overland hanging up his mic.He is focusing on his health.Such a distinctive voice he had and he will be missed by many with his announcements. The other guy in the middle Andy Mitchell also finishing as he has work commitments. Kevin Moore takes on the announcing role from Edwin. Also it's great to have Gavin Caney back in the middle on the mic as presenter.3 points

So ok a 5-1 to us becomes a 3-3 still a loss on the night And even if he split them the other time a 4-2 to Ipswich would have been a draw So no I don’t think the loss of Pedersen cost them any points at all2 points

Ipswich only being 2 up going into Ht 14 when we've ran 13 Heats of Speedway without having any rider at No.1 is hardly anything to shout about. Wouldn't have even been ahead by 2 if it wasn't for a couple of mistakes made by Panthers riders. Panthers are a good side as proven by the way they battled tonight but the huge concern is how injury prone the top two are, One crash and they're done for the night. It's costs us league points tonight and I'm certain it's going to cost us even more points throughout the season as I can see the same situation unfolding on several occasions unfortunately.2 points

Two points down going into heat 15 after losing their number 1 on the opening two bends has cost Peterborough without a doubt.2 points

Can't see the Witches getting battered anywhere this season with two solid big hitters in the team...2 points

Buster taking a massive L on night one with his team selections (Nicki P & Worrall) This doesn't happen with Tomalin's picks (Holder & Tungate)2 points

As a (temporary) Leicester fan, I can't imagine how anyone would approach this meeting as an 18 year old riding in the same team as Jason Doyle, Emil Sayfutdinov, Danny King and a few other guys that rate a mention. Watch what they do and keep your head down when the tapes rise Joe. And good luck. This is the chance of a lifetime (so far anyway).2 points

I was being very literal with my timings, obviously there's track grading and such that's needed, especially with the demise of the track raker... but it does make you wonder where the time goes? I do think/hope the timing of meetings is something Whizzer Morris will have a look at in his new role.2 points

The Tranny guy Gavan has way too much time on his hands speculating about whether they would have won if Pederson hadn't have stacked it 2nd bend....you did mate so why are u bothered!?..as for Panthers..I'm disappointed..the only positives were Basso and Hans..and I have this niggling worry that based on the 2 trips he's made here this season and done half a lap Nicki might think sod this and sack it off...disastrous start.. decent racing but came home annoyed.1 point

Sayfutdinov shouldn't even be riding. Ridiculous how Ipswich are happy to support propaganda for Putin.1 point

I'm sorry but this is gunna be the tightest and most controversial season in a long long time. Nasty Nicki will return and take out everyone with him. The emergence of new rising stars. Emil is back and the lions enter the pit. Bring it on..1 point

They better sort that pronto, first match of the season, big crowd, you serve them up a mess from the start, you won’t get them back.1 point

FWIW, Cook impressed me. Neat, tidy, confident and on the pace. I know it was a testimonial meeting, and so lacking the intensity of a league match, but that was a strong field with competitive action. We've all seen riders completely at sea early in their Monmore acquaintance, and this year's pre-season practice was rained off too. I thought he did well.1 point

You have a short memory. Your ‘protege’ was offered rides at a northern track when you were complaining then of a lack of opportunities, you turned it down as it was too far to travel. That was when there was several teams in the MDL as he rode for most of them at least once, so plenty of rides being offered then. There was opportunities then and there still is now, Birmingham are crying out for riders to join the MDL ! The riders have simply disappeared, retired as they were never going to ‘ make it ‘, given up, got too old or too skint or simply had enough and have not been replaced by new novices for reasons stated before.1 point

In fairness we had 27 heats, a parade and a sun delay in two and three quarter hours, is that really that bad? Were the gaps between races really that long? I'm not so sure. I think around ninety minutes for a standard 15 heat meeting is about right personally so that wasn't too bad last night IMO.1 point

For me Peo Soderman was the first Swede I ever saw ride for my team in the '50s I think, and overnight when he came to ride for Brandon he became my favourite rider, basically because he was different, and a superb rider and nice guy as well. For some reason the various foreign riders who came to ride for the Bees seemed to hold a magical charisma, no disrespect meant to others. But by seeing and meeting these guys I realised that there really is another big bright world out there. Perhaps that was the spark that eventually set me on the way to travelling the world and my fascination with other countries and cultures. Henryk Zyto although not Swedish really sparked my interest in other countries. I thought he was a magician from behind the iron curtain. I suppose in a way in the '60s Gote Nordin replaced Peo for his absolute classy style and consistency. And then of course the great man himself, no it's not Norbold, but Ove was just pure strength and speed, and I clearly remember standing in the pits at Long Eaton one night watching his great calmness throughout a meeting and knowing that I was, I suppose in the presence of greatness in our sport.1 point

The vastly underated Tommy Johansson. Who could forget his pass of Ivan Mauger during the 1974 World Final. Unfortunately suffered with a blood disorder if I am correct but did pick up the 1973 Swedish Championship and who knows what he might have achieved if he had signed for King's Lynn before being "nobbled" by the Hull promotion prior to the 1975 season and picking up an injury which curtailed his career in the UK.1 point

BSPA APPROVAL GIVEN!! We received some great news late last night that due to the crazy that we have found ourselves in, the BSPA have given their approval to the Redcar promotion to run a 5th attempt during the season, rather than wait for the allocated October window. We are extremely grateful for this decision, and discussions are now taking place with Redcar to come up with an alternative date for ROBBO TAKE 5!!!! Once we have a confirmed date, we will of course communicate it out. We will do all we can to try and ensure the line-up is just as competitive as it was for the attempt last week but during the season rider availability will be a lot different copied from Stuart Robson Facebook1 point

June 14, 1969, KO Cup 2nd Round. Riding at No. 1, he won Heat 5 in a new Track Record of 65.6 from Gote Nordin, Les Owen, and Eddie Reeves. Booey equalled it in Heat 7.1 point

I was part of a Glasgow 4 when we not only rode at CarrsWood in the Manchester 21st Anniversary weekend in May 1969 but we also slept in our transit van there that night. A really wet weekend, we ended up in a laundromat on Saturday afternoon drying out our gear - not quite like the denim adverts in the 70s! The sliding door fell off on the way home on Sunday night which delayed us somewhat. Great times a life time ago!1 point
