  3. 1. WORKINGTON - A powerful 4 heat leaders and will always have very strong reserves. Easily the strongest on paper. Looks a similar build to the Belle Vue team which was expected to win last year's ttle, but they were let down by the form of the McGurk brothers. 2. EDINBURGH - Bickley, Hook and Roynon are the strongest heat leader trio in the division. Spooner & Simpson have the potential to show support. Nothing really known of Wood. The only problem could be if the travelling between Poole (CL) and Edinburgh (NL) gets to Roynon. 3. LEICESTER - The Thompson twins won't drop many points. Spencer needs to show up regularly as third heat-leader, though Perry, Boughen and James will give strong support especially at home. 4. BELLE VUE - Don't know much abour Pearson, but he needs to challenge Smith for No.1. Hagon and Marson battling for the 3rd heat leader spot. Bottom end is solid, at least at home. 5. OXFORD - Good top four, and Kileen won't be at reserve long. But Stoneman and Kileen can be accident prone, they need to stay fit. Clouting & Fellows aren't the strongest reserves. 6. MILDENHALL - Powerful top two. Don't know much about Congreve, but he and/or Trigger need to offer support. Bottom end looks weak away. 7. BERWICK - Connor Coles is on a big average which I don't see him maintaining at No.1. Blair & Phillips are good heat leaders on their day. They'll need to find some improvement from the bottom 4 if they are to challenge the big teams. 8. KENT - Morley is a big No.1, and Ablitt, Woolley, Alcock and King will score well at home, but I see this team travelling very poorly.

  4. Despite the opinions of the usual knowalls in this forum, this isn't too bad a team. Bad luck with injuries etc. aside, we may have a good season ... here's hoping!

  6. So here we are, March 17, two days after the season's notional start and still no sign of the 2023 rule book. Good to see the Speedway authorities getting their house in order.

  9. Was at meet the riders and Hawkins said riding order for next week would be 1) Doyle 2) Rew 3) King 4) Riss 5) Emil 6) Hume 7) Thompson. Also that it would change throughout season. And also that for away they might move Rew away from number 2 so he could watch a couple races first. Unless he changed his mind after saying it when interviewed on stage

  12. He’s not the first and won’t be the last to have a spill doing his first ever laps around Foxhall, even in practice. Not the easiest track to learn quickly.

  13. It is the final week of fixtures for the Rugby Union 6 Nations & any one of the top 2 can win the title. This includes the use of BONUS POINTS for scoring at least 4 Tries or by losing by 7 points or less! It works in Rugby & has worked well in Speedway for a while now so "if it not broke, don't fix it" but the voices of the more technical tracks had their say & brought back the aggregate bonus point going back around 10 years yet people post that we have to move forward to improve our sport(social media-not every one has it), streaming(not everyone can afford it in these present times) & yet we have a new boss to oversee the Premiership which most people are pleased about & not before time. Rant Over!!!!!!

  18. Any risk would be with the promotion not the Dugards, and with the people involved with trying to bring it back, the Jordon scenario wouldn't have happened again, so probably another reason, anyway thanks for your usual input.

  21. Hi there Lisa. You might or might now know that each season I produce My Top 2O Riders lists which are based on their most recent results. I have simply applied their previous season's efforts to see how they might continue into 2023. I know that some will improve but based on how they finished up my 2023 prediction is based on this. Regards BB

  30. Basically the (poorly written) rules were different last year than they were when Wolves were missing their top 2! They've changed again for next year, so even if Ipswich were missing Doyle & Sayfutdinov for the play-offs they couldn't draft in Lambert!

  36. Spot on, that's the key point that seems to get missed. Whether he should have been reassessed is another argument, but he wasn't and fitted to replace an injured rider. Which is much more preferable to a guest (eurgh) or R/R.

  40. Why are they woke? The actual meaning of woke has nothing to do with it. Woke people are more likely to be anti greyhounds. No planning application has ever been submitted and it’s not far from the site of one of the old Nottingham tracks.

  41. Perfect. Free speech - lets shut it down immediately. I see nothing but facts here personally - and if you don't like what is being said then you should jog on. It would be a pretty pointless forum if every thread was shut down on the basis of somebody not liking what they read. As a close personal friend of Steve's over many years - I am happy that a certain ex-rider is being exposed. And I know Steve's family feel the same way. There is way more to come out about this but might have to be on alternatives platforms if people like you insist on shutting down the truth.

  42. Steve Casey was a very close friend of mine for many years and the most genuine guy you could ever wish to meet. We spoke every single day and I know every step of what happened here. In addition, I was named in PC's book along with Steve as we both tried to work at a solution to get PC back to the NSS and spent hours trying to find a bridge but it was very apparent that the man was not interested in a solution, perhaps because he would no longer have a cause to keep him in the limelight. Which I think is what this is all about. I couldn't care less about the opinions of those who don't know the story or those that think this is dirty laundry or those that still think Peter Collins is 'Mr Nice Guy'. He certainly is not and I was a PC fan for many, many years. What he did to a dying man is unforgiveable and doubly so given that the self same person was the only person still batting for him and trying to work with two different promotions to get him to come to the NSS. Both promotions by the way offered multiple olive branches and letters asking him to go to the stadium for a coffee to find a way and a resolution. Such letters went unanswered and ignored. You need to ask yourself why that is. The intransient and pig headed stance of the man was that he was insistent that EVERY rider who ever rode for Belle Vue should be allowed free admission along with a plus one. When I look up Belle Vue Club legends, I dont see riders with an average of 0.92 in there. But such a rider was indeed on the ''List''. In addition, there was a whole host of other unconnected people that were on ''the list''. Mainly Peter's friends. I know because I have that list and it adds up to hundreds. By this way, this wasn't an ''ask'' but a ''demand'' otherwise he was not going to appear at Belle Vue. Imagine owning a restaurant and being told by a long retired ex-waiter who should and should not be eating there for free?. Its preposterous. He was never ''banned'' or unwelcome as his propaganda would have you believe. Propaganda that is still being perpetuated by his circle of sycophants as he doesn't himself do social media. I know though that he is aware what is said as he is fed on a constant basis. I was disappointed to read Tony Mac's comments that appeared like the situation was resolved after communication with Steve. Not true. Retro Speedway apologised for the incident but they didn't need to as neither Susi nor Tony did anything wrong. The man who should be apologising so far has not. I would be shocked if he ever does. Steve's daughter told me that she had never seen her dad so upset and humiliated to the degree he was over this incident and as I say, to a man that was still batting for him when all others have given up. PC also has a daughter - I wonder how she would feel in the same circumstances? Steve battled hard over the last two years and went through a lot - 3 rounds of chemo and whole bunch of other treatments. He was suffering and in pain but chose to battle on, paint a smile on and go on supporting his beloved Belle Vue Aces in every way possible. Unlike some ex-riders - Steve 'put in' and did not 'take out'. Many people were surprised to learn of his illness and they thought he looked so well. He hid it well and carried on until he couldn't do any more. In my eyes, Peter Collins is an utter disgrace. Not just for the book signing incident but for other reasons which I am sure will come out in the fullness of time. Many people are already aware. Dont meet your heroes. As mentioned, for anyone who is going to pile in with the dirty laundry comments or two sides to the story or Steve wouldn't have wanted this please do yourself a favour. You have absolutely no idea. I am tired of hearing the BS and its about time people were put right and understand that things (and people) in Speedway are not what they appear to be. RIP Steve - you are 1000x the man.
