The stadium car park is all pay by mobile during the day. No staffing. On speedway nights the entry kiosk is staffed by GI. Maybe they've bought season tickets and arrived early for Wednesdays p&p??2 points

Yes, excellent piece on Look East tonight with Mike Liggins interviewing Chris Louis, and lots of action from past and present. Probably available on iplayer if anybody missed it?2 points

If the socials are anything to go by Emil will certainly generate interest over 8000 views of that clip on Facebook compared to 1100 for the play off final clip2 points

Embarrassed to be an Ipswich rider he had to cover up the logo. Clear evidence of just 'taking a wage' Tin pot club2 points

Bet365 Belle Vue 11/8 Ipswich 3/1 Sheffield 4/1 Peterborough 13/2 Leicester 12/1 Wolves 12/1 Kings Lynn 20/1 They’re way off with Lynn there IMO. absolute bankers for a play off spot and happy to be vaulted on that come the end of the season.2 points

You still make it sound as if this was done deliberately. It only happened because of injury. Definitely agree with your point about Morris - he has a battle on his hands not just to remove ambiguity, but also to deal with the strongest personalities among the promoters.2 points

Do you know what it is.... I can't disagree with you because I think all of the teams in the NDL are pretty evenly matched... I keep looking at the sides as they are and I can't pick an out and out favourite... yes a couple look slightly stronger than others but ultimately it will be down to away bonus points and any unfortunate injuries... IMHO I think any team is in with an outside chance if they click as a team... to me there does not seem to be any one team super strong but likewise there isn't a whipping boy in the league either.... Think it will be a very interesting season... can't wait to see what happens... Regards THJ1 point

I have to say that Anders was the Swede I most admired (although he rode for the "Berks" down the road!)...1973 he was just awesome. Nobody really has come close within Sweden in my estimation for sheer magnetism during my time following the sport although Tommy Jansson had class but to be honest I saw very little of him (clash of race nights with Oxford) but my abiding memory of him was two classic races with Gordon Kennett at White City's opening meeting in 1976 when Gordon had to pass him on both occasions.1 point

Edinburgh certainly won’t be bottom.Hook Bickley and Roynon look a decent top 3 .1 point

in actuality he WAS a guest , only on a false average ! if his average had been re-assessed (to align with his world standing/form) ,he wouldn't have ridden and all the controversy would not have arisen.a loophole that should never arise again using this suggestion.1 point

Having a good spring too, signing for the Witches where he will alongside Doyle and Emil. As a replacement for Thomas whos suit he is wearing in the pictures.... but don't let that stop you having a moan....1 point

I hope you're right and whatever it's not sold for housing, maybe it just seems like it near me, but obvious brownfield sites never seem to be first choice. Anyway another speedway venue gone by the look of it, along with yours and so many others.1 point

A mere 36 seasons for Vetlanda! [1964-1999] Quite an achievement1 point

No. The best RS available was Drew Kemp, plain and simple. But, at the end of the day it’s Louis’ choice. He’s decided Kemp or Rowe for that matter, isn’t who he wants in his team this year. He’ll have his reasons for that and we have to accept that we don’t know exactly what they are. I’d rule out a monetary issue, the club are backed heavily and if Louis wanted Kemp they’d pay the dollar.1 point

Spot on, that's the key point that seems to get missed. Whether he should have been reassessed is another argument, but he wasn't and fitted to replace an injured rider. Which is much more preferable to a guest (eurgh) or R/R.1 point

Poole are going to be giving a donation to Jack Thomas and also doing a collection at a home meeting1 point

Is this not how the old Nl operated a mixture of journeymen( with outside jobs ) ,old -hands and young riders who either sink or swim normally within about two seasons .1 point

Looking at the Championship team line ups it seems there is almost a de facto Rising Star scheme because of the reduction of the team limit. There are a lot of young/inexperienced reserve riders in the league. Will be interested to see how they get on. Of course, if they do well they will effectively ride themselves out of a team place for next year....1 point

Because being a ex Coventry fan he's always had a huge chip on his shoulder about Wolves, probably because we are able to go each week and he's stuck in the house watching Coronation St.1 point

Lamberts 7 + average to replace Fricke is not the point really. Even if he had been reassessed to an 8 which seems to be the average that returning g p riders are assessed at he was replacing a rider on a 8.55 average so what's your point.1 point

In fairness, I’m not really sure that Rowe exploded onto the scene. Rowe was decent at reserve for Somerset and after a mid season reshuffle got forced into the main body of the side and was decent. I never really saw enough to think Rowe was going to become a top rider like it was expected of Kemp. I think there is something in Rowe to still get to a higher standard but he’s never really going to become World class and probably more of a Worrall standard type rider. Sounds abit harsh but that’s the way I see it. For what it’s worth, I completely agree that it’s a nonsense that if Kemp, Rowe, Thompson etc are ready and available and want a team spot but haven’t because of averages. That should never be allowed to happen. This goes back again to the “rising star” scheme should be a thing in the Championship without question, along with a certain quota of British riders along the same lines as what Poland do.1 point
