  1. If when you’re on the new website, go to the web page options on your phone and you can choose “Add To Home Screen”. If you do that, it turns the page into an app basically and you can then use the site as you would an app.

  3. Tbh, your never going to get a worldbeater this late in the day and on this sort of average but it could be a lot worse than Proctor. Get behind the lad at least!

  7. Was looking forward to going to practice tomorrow but not surprised it’s off. Looks like the Bears might have team race suits this year looking at Erik Riss on the BSN press day.

  8. Did 6 or 7 regular league meetings also, not just the playoffs though. That’s a big difference. I do agree though that averages should be fairly reassessed after a rider chooses not to ride here for a couple of seasons.

  10. The real problem is tracks, they are generally very slick which makes passing in most circumstances very difficult, which of course makes starting well a necessity, which is why we have the usual pre race shenanigans and gardening. If tracks were prepared more for racing as opposed to super slick, trapping wouldn’t be the be all and end all of the racing. Follow the leader crap is not what most supporters want to see.

  11. If that's the case I'd say they are strong favourites assuming Rew is fully committed.

  12. Most NORA meetings will take place at tracks that have SRBF collections. How is Jack Thomas hiring Scunny any different from Barry Bishop hiring Plymouth?

  13. They will both be very good at home but struggle away IMO, probably the same for most of them to be fair.

  14. Kemp or Rowe will be fine,,, there must be weaker RS riders being used,, if not weaker then new to tracks with less experience

  16. Wasn’t Zmarzlik a 7 or 7.5 when he rode for Birmingham? still think it’s fair to bring him back in that? jesus wept indeed.

  17. Nice to hear Poole Pirates (and Ipswich Witches) getting a mention on BBC Question of Sport tonight. Shame they got the sport wrong but hey ho!

  18. Even if that were true, speedway fans contribute to the SRBF on the basis that it will assist a rider injured while taking part in speedway, wherever that maybe. I very much doubt that one single one would draw a distinction between Ben Morley, for example, being injured at Kent or being injured at Isle of Wight. This is about riders, not who contributes to the fund.

  19. Absolute crap. The polyfoam fence panels are huge, and very heavy. A speedway bike, or bikes, won't lift them an inch.

  20. We’ve had a Polyfoam barrier at Berwick for a long time now and witnessed a lot of high speed incidents where the bike has went in first and yet to see the barrier lift, They are a different proposition to the inflatable version.

  24. Jim Lightfoot rose from being a useful second string in the early 60's to become a world finalist later in his career. Sad to see that we've lost another rider of that calibre.

  25. I think the non stand alone tracks need to be more about development... No point in creating "professional juniors" who spend their careers riding NDL and can just about compete at reserve in the Championship... The non stand alone clubs in particular should be about unearthing talent that could maybe become "first teamers" further down the line, or be able to generate loan fees or transfer values later in their careers.. Let's he honest, even winning the Premiership delivers hardly any wider publicity outside of the Speedway bubble, so winning one of the other two titles resonates even less, with the NDL very much the least of the three, therefore development of future British talent to take team places higher up the ladder has to be a key fundamental principle part of their model...

  28. Why are they woke? The actual meaning of woke has nothing to do with it. Woke people are more likely to be anti greyhounds. No planning application has ever been submitted and it’s not far from the site of one of the old Nottingham tracks.

  29. Sad to report the passing of another list member - Coventry's Jim Lightfoot. He was 89.
