  1. I believe the polyfoam is a much heavier than a airfence so should be less likely to lift

  2. That can't possibly be allowed though, guests are something we want far less of and there is/has been plenty of time to sign a replacement before the season starts.

  3. Listening to Jack talking about what injuries he has sustained I can't help but wonder how he was allowed to walk to the ambulance. I saw Ben Barkers bad crash a few years ago and he wanted to get up but they made him stay still and put him on a stretcher to the ambulance. Surely this should have been done the case of Jack's crash also.

  4. The cover at practices is often qualified first aiders. At meetings it is fully qualified paramedic. No paramedic would have allowed Jack to walk. Scunny haven't done wrong but the rules need tightening.

  5. Sad to hear Tony Mole isnt in the best of health, the man's a legend for the tracks he ressurected/kept running over the years

  6. Even if it was allowed I would want and expect them not to go down that route

  7. There's not a lot between the middle order tbh. I certainly see Jorgensen at 2.

  8. Primarily this is an event is to raise funds for the SRBF, all riders U.K. based that are fit & able should make their selves available to ride in this event therefore if it doesn't " capture the imagination" you know where to point the finger. Personally I don't think the line up is to bad & well done to Buster Chapman for providing the venue. I thank all the riders that have offered their services plus Paul Akroyd & his team for all the hard work in making the event happen good luck to you all on the 25th.

  10. There's both pros & cons for the play-offs. Not a fan of them myself. But I'd be interested to see what the crowd was for Sheffield vs Ipswich on Oct 24th, what would have been a league title decider, basically turned into a challenge match!

  11. Personally I think it would be really out of order to drop a rider in March with no other team spots available, especially as there are options available for a straight swap for Thomas!

  12. I'm sure I read the opposite. Can't stop teams being allowed a guest in case there's no one out there, so in theory a team could use guests from their 2nd match till the end of the season!

  13. I’m not sure who else is in the rising star list. Maybe Conor Bailey or the thompson twin

  14. I think this one will be a surprise.

  15. The argument that supporters suffer by watching 3 man races might seem logical, but I believe that some riders are encouraged by team managers to try it on at the starts, knowing that there is always a reserve to replace them if they are caught out. This would stop abruptly if there were no exclusions for tapes offences, so supporters would benefit in the long term by not having to put up with repeated restarts.

  16. Gary Patchett was one of the promoting consortium in the last year or so of Cradley Heath's tenure at Wolverhampton. He leased Birmingham from Tony Mole for a season but didn't take up the option to buy the promotion outright and departed under a bit of a cloud. Tony Mole is now retired and is not too well, but still comes to Perry Barr for all of the BRUMMIES home matches and is also a frequent attender at Monmore.

  17. Entry level? That depends which door you are using. MDSL / Northern junior league is Entry level, where the riders pay their own way. The NDL is the third level of professional speedway, there to develop riders further in theory.

  19. Im sure it used to be that a team couldn't have a guest for a rider that hadn't made an appearance - but I can't see anything in the Regs ...

  22. Time moves on and these sad events are inescapable, but it doesn’t make it any easier to see the sports rich history and the riders that made it, fading into the past.

  24. To be fair to the Colts teams of the past that has been the mantra but this years crop really does look a bit of a crock. Hodder was the surprise package for me last season and deserves another year but where is the remainder of the improvement coming from? I really don't see it from Hagon. Marson, Muff and Bowen are at their level, yes they might add a bit to their averages with the big home advantage but not enough to offset the poor away score. Smith is what he is, a NSS expert, top end NL but can't hack the step up and Pearson is just present for laps but how much benefit is their really to British speedway by giving a space to an Aussie over a Brit? The team will probably do what it did last year with plenty of home wins (but be pushed much harder) and get naff all away.

  25. I am not disappointed with the line up this year although some will be. The matches will be tighter and we may not win them all but at this level I think entertainment and watching riders develop is what it is about. Last year was a disappointment. The team was really strong but didn't deliver; it may be that this year's riders will be a bit more committed. We should have three decent heat leaders, if the final rider is who everyone assumes it will be. I can see Sam Hagon scoring big at the NSS, he looks a good prospect and wanting to get more experience on the bigger tracks. Personally looking forward to Paul Bowen's efforts, always a trier. Hodder should kick on this year and another one who will be worth watching. Really looking forward to the Colts this year.

  28. When practice at Scunthorpe, riders are required to have a SCB licence and are required to sign a day long insurance form, I imagine Jack Thomas is the same in that regard.

  29. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We’ve checked and it appears to be an issue with the way the video has uploaded to our new platform, so it’s not an issue your end. We will fix this ASAP.

  30. and as you don’t know the answer perhaps you get your own house in order before trying to stir things up. Even I don’t think the chairman of the sport would run a practice session on his own track without insurance in order.

  31. True I remember when Pizza Hut had those 18 inch pizzas always asked if you wanted it cut into 6 or 12 slices. I always got 6 as I don’t think I could’ve ate 12.

  32. So the answer is no. The then Poole promotion would have known full well how financially close to the edge they were. It’s bad enough not paying “tradespeople and riders” but to bank someone else’s money in your account when there’s a doubt that you’ll be able to pay it over is unforgivable. In my view

  37. Max was well capable of going through the card at home, who would have predicted Jack Holder underperforming as he did, we were still missing two riders, broke no rules so get over it

  38. Just how many maximums did he score in 2022? I can understand fans moaning about signing the world number 5 only for the play offs, way worse than RR and guests!

  39. Why are they woke? The actual meaning of woke has nothing to do with it. Woke people are more likely to be anti greyhounds. No planning application has ever been submitted and it’s not far from the site of one of the old Nottingham tracks.

  43. Doesn’t really make lot of sense given the lack of fixtures this season, also considering it was the reason that the fixture list was cut back to suit Teams in NDL and Championship.(if that was the real reason alleged)
