True I remember when Pizza Hut had those 18 inch pizzas always asked if you wanted it cut into 6 or 12 slices. I always got 6 as I don’t think I could’ve ate 12.

Hello Pinny long time no hear... hope you are doing well... Andrew Bain is the main man behind the Comets resurrection... he has ran the Workington Speedway Training Track at Northside for the last few years and when the Comets went pop in 2019 he decided to redevelop the Northside site as the track was only about 160 metres round and in a tight bowl... Andy has a background in Civil Engineering and Groundworks and he decided to open the whole space out and stick a 300 metre track on the site... been a big task however things are nearing completion and although it will be an ongoing project for the next 10 years or so it is exciting times in Workington that is for sure... No Neil you have hit it on the head... let down by the sheet roof guy so having to source pits roofing from elsewhere... perimeter fence due to go in and not before time which should add some security to the site... track electrics going in this weekend I've been told... which is nice to know cos am getting that job apparently... and if the pit roof goes on this Saturday the pit lighting will be getting wired in on Sunday... the centre green has been levelled out and Steve is grading the track continuously to try and get it to bind better... seating structures are imminent but it's massive like a big mecano set and is causing a few logistic problems so rethink on those going on... other than that everything is going in the right direction... Graham Drury isn't involved in speedway these days although he is an occasional visitor to Perry Barr. Gary Patchett hasn't beeen seen or heard of for several years now and was banned from Perry Barr by the GRA unless he brought with him a cheque for the money he owed them!!!

It’s a strange one with the number 6 spot this year as a lot of good riders down there, some on artificial averages. Just checked Lewis Kerr and with certain matches not counting towards his average in his time at Sheffield (Play offs, League Cup final) his last 10 rolling would be 6.72 (7.54 inc bonus points) if all matches counted, that’s against his actual end of season rolling of 4.71. Like Kings Lynn with their compact second strings I can see Kerr, Howarth and Bellego all possibly having stints at number 6 during the season, think most teams will see movement between 2/4/6 especially once riders have bedded in and received an actual average for this season

I think that's exactly how it will pan out, I expect the senior reserve to change every month.

I'm not so sure about that. I think it's more likely that a few riders will have a spell at reserve during the season. Their averages are so close.

...except that Danny didn't arrive at the meeting til after the points reduction was agreed by others!!!! The meeting was held on the day of the Pairs at Oxford and Danny got stuck in traffic and arrived mid-meeting!! Unfortunately the 'my dad is bigger than your dad' argument didn't hold up this time!!

One pair of promoters who have been lost in the mist of time were Cy Melville and Rodney Rycroft. Took over at Oxford for the 1964 season from Dicky Worth and they proceeded to win everything. As an Oxford super fan from 1960-61 it was fantastic. Bringing in Ron How and Jimmy Gooch transformed the team. It was a great season but they only lasted for that one year after which they went bust, or at least one of them did! It was a brilliant year though. In 1965 Danny Dunton took over.

Firstly I watched all the E Speedway broadcast as I was genuinely interested I would think common sense would prevail in why the E speedway Bikes and Petrol bikes should not be mixed. Do Formula 1 and Formula E compete against each other, No. They are different categories What would have been more interesting yesterday would have been a race on E Bikes between the likes of Max James, Luke Harrison and Jamie Etherington. Then asking them how they felt about the bikes.

Or just put the two minutes on as soon as the race is stopped. The hold up isn't the two minute warning, it's not putting the two minute warning on quick enough. So not putting the shiny new one minute warning on quick enough will still mean there is some hanging about. If there was actually two minutes between a stoppage and a restart, it wouldn't be a problem in the first place.
