Isnt this similar to what Buster did to Ged Rathbone let him agree deals with riders then butcher the team and expect the paying public to keep turning up ,3 points

Hope the balloons sent up over the Ipswich area from Peterborough dont get shot down before the info is retrieved as to who is actually signing for the Witches Update . The ballons are just the standard type blue ones with Happy Birthday printed on them due in the main to the budget that Peterborough Speedway is now being run to, as cheap is cheerful now it seems3 points

Agree. As it’s the start of the season might have attracted a decent turn out if they could have fitted something in though.Redcar organised a fixture as a warm up as they said in SS.2 points

Too many red flags for me. I mean, giving an interview to the local press recently down in Dorset saying that he hopes Poole return to the top flight because he’d like to ride for them again, whilst also stating that it’s just “not the same” riding for anyone else here when he potentially had a deal in the pipeline to ride for said someone else, isn’t the smartest move is it? Last time he rode for “someone else” he shed a big chunk off his Poole average whilst sitting in the pits with a massive cob on and refusing to ride in tricky conditions. Would he have sat there in Poole kevlars rather than Lynn ones and flatly refused to ride? I bet he wouldn’t!!2 points

Owen made good progress last season after linking with Berwick Academy, and has every chance of continuing to improve in 2023.2 points

He could use the Kevlars that were ordered by Peterborough then As they were rumoured to have alot of purple in the colouring so at least they will look blue from a distance2 points

If I were MT I would've pulled my sponsorship at that point personally. I just hope he gets his hands solely on the club with his team asap. In the meantime if panthers lineup as mentioned above that's a team good enough to win every home meeting and will take the heat off of buster. Us fans need to keep asking the questions and not let it rest. Pedersen Andersen Tungate Basso NKI Cook Jenkins1 point

He who pays the piper should call the tune. If MT is financing to the extent rumored then Buster should butt out!!1 point

If Buster is the owner of Panthers he owns F all . Seems to me Tomlin and his crew providing the finance etc and if Buster putting the block on things as he is still nominally the owner the whole thing smacks of petty vindictiveness.1 point

From a personal point of view I hope Holder gets his spot at Peterborough purely because I don’t want him at Ipswich.1 point

I’ve recently read that Speedway Sponsorship is a ‘mugs game’. Please can you stop trying to support a thriving sport to survive. ;-)1 point

It’s true, but there won’t be any evidence because it was a back room decision that the public won’t need to know about, I believe MT, Johnson and allitt signed seven riders, but buster as owner wants to have the final say and said no chance1 point

Because a good journalist nurturing a new relationship with a promotion isn't going to going blurting out information that isn't verified or confirmed They would also respect certain a level of confidentiality even where they know1 point

I've not heard that from anywhere,,, but he seems to be out of a place at the Panthers,,, and we need someone if they are waiting on Emil,,, so I just put 1 and 3 together and come up with 51 point

Nobody can report what isn’t done really. Louis has already said in yesterdays press release they’re HOPING to announce more next week. If nothing has been signed it can’t be reported on. Elvin was very good though on reporting on the Witches, as was Mike Bacon so it’ll be interesting to see who from the local press picks up the baton.1 point

Don't either the Ipswich or Peterborough local press employ investigative reporters anymore? I'm sure if Elvin King was still around we would have known what was going on.1 point

Having dual nationality is very different to changing nationality. Has Emil given up his Russian Passport and renounced his Russian Citizenship? or has he just gained a second nationality. That is the question you should be asking.1 point

Do you realise how stupid you sound? Read your comment back and try to understand how one club is tainting your mind. Dissing invaluable sponsorship as a mug is absolutely disgraceful.1 point

Evening ScampiSpeedway, I don't normally comment on here but thought it was worth clearing this one up. The meeting will definitely go ahead, all the necessary clearances and checks were carried out long before the match was announced. Seven former Diamonds with a combined average just under this years points limit, hopefully this will give the Bears a strong challenge leading into the season and be an exciting team for the Geordie fans to cheer on. There's two reasons for us not giving this much hype yet, first is we don't want to in anyway overshadow Robbo's meeting the week before. Second is it is far too early, any hype created now wouldn't be sustained. As for financing the meeting, we have six outstanding sponsors from Newcastle making this happen and we can't thank them enough. Hope that clears it up and hope to see you there1 point
-
So why query it then? You may not be bothered whether the meeting takes place, but there a fair few from Newcastle (and the surrounding area) who are bothered, as it will be great to see a "Newcastle" side taking to the track once again.1 point

Since its been nearly 4 weeks since the very lethargic Poole Speedway website posted anything meaningful (a generic BSPL message about Glasgow sponsoring the CL + a plea for someone to buy season tickets aside) may be they could crank up the valves and write someting interesting about "the bouncing cheques and the ones that got away)...0 points
