13th July 2017. The evening that part of me fell out of love with speedway, the track was a little heavy and rough but nothing that twelve of the riders on show couldn't handle. Unfortunately Messrs Batchelor and Holder senior sat in the pits when their races came round, treating the paying customers that night with contempt. The whole situation was handled badly by all parties including the Lynn hierarchy (Chapman, Lyon & Allitt) and Lynn of course lost the meeting. Batchelor and Holder were sacked on the eve of the transfer window closing (a petty move but at the same time my sympathy for the riders was zero) and as far as I know those damaged relationships have never been repaired. Having been there that night and leaving the stadium completely dissillusioned I can understand Buster Chapman not wanting Chris Holder anywhere near a club he is involved in but equally you'd have thought six years later they could have sorted their differences enough to work together. That said I think if P'boro end up with Nicki Pedersen they'll be better off.3 points

Wow! That’s brilliant. You are saying £4.22? My Amazon over the last year has been very expensive or as now not available. Not sure where this very cheap copy has come from but hey ho, if you get it that’s an amazing bargain. Enjoy - it’s a good read.2 points

Okay no problems. My copy is available if needed. It will still be in the same drawer for a long time so won’t miss it. I’m still on Kelly Moran’s book. M Lee’s was a good read but I think we all knew most of the content. Little tip on eBay. I wouldn’t place a bid with 3 days to go, it often ends up just pushing the price up. Leave it to the last 30 mins of the closing day. Good luck.2 points

It doesn’t say that - it says Russian and Belarus riders aren’t allowed. Technically neither Sayfutdinov and Laguta fall into that bracket anymore so there is no reason for them to be blocked. They have Polish passports and citizenship.2 points

How come Poole fans try to take over every topic? This is susposed to be about BSN, not who Poole have signed in the past !!!2 points

I thought that visa was only applicable to that rider for that particular team, if he changes Teams does he not have to obtain another visa ?, I have to admit I am unsure what the home office rules are with regard riders and sponsors, what I will say is that I think it is wrong that British riders are without Team places when visa riders can obtain Team places, but hey its what it is..1 point

Swedes: Joakim Söderström Jimmy Olsén Jimmy Hörnell Finns: Tomi Norola Max Koivula Germans I think: Marc Geyer and Benedikt Monn. Andrej Divis (from Czech) as reserve.1 point

Well I can't see it being Holder and Hume,,, as that's over 2 points under the limit,,, no one would do that 2 seasons in a row surely.1 point

You may well be right, but it 8s my understanding that Birmingham do not have the required paperwork for signing overseas riders.1 point

I thought all that was stopped years back when Swindon/Poole were just signing up riders without having ridden for them? After that then it became clear certain riders and teams had abused the system and had signed completely illegally breaking all sorts of immigration rules and laws.1 point

Another shout for BSN to show the Ben fund meeting, you could charge more with the extra profits over production costs going to the fund itself. I am sure a lot of fan would be prepared to put their hands in their pockets to support this excellent cause.1 point

I think it's safe to say Nikita Bogdanov would have been World Champion this year had the FIM not kicked the Russians out.1 point

That is taken out of context - that part of the article is a recap of what happened for the 2022 season where Chugonov was allowed to race but both Laguta’s, Sayfutdinov and Tarasenko to name just some were not. It does not say that is what is happening for 2023.1 point

Since its been nearly 4 weeks since the very lethargic Poole Speedway website posted anything meaningful (a generic BSPL message about Glasgow sponsoring the CL + a plea for someone to buy season tickets aside) may be they could crank up the valves and write someting interesting about "the bouncing cheques and the ones that got away)...1 point

The best book I’ve read is, ‘Alan Carter: Light in the Darkness: The Truth About Mal, Kenny and Me’. One of those books you just can’t put down. Opens your eyes as to why Kenny had Alan had their demons.1 point

You imagined it. Or rather you're misremembering two different things. Collins did compete on Superstars a few times, and Kevin Keegan's crash on a pushbike was one of the most famous moments from the programme, but they weren't connected. Collins never competed against Kevin Keegan on the programme.1 point

The track is looking fabulous and I'll bet nobody thought it was going to be this good(but it is). Probably going to be one of the best tracks for racing in any league. I hope that everyone has a visit planned in their diaries to see the massive change that it is from the small, bumpy and lumpy surface it was. I certainly will and even on the training days.1 point

I think you mean the NJL team as he’s not quite ready for NDL yet, but he may get there this season.1 point
-
No offence to Booth as i don't recall seeing him ride anywhere but with the raised limit only 3.00 riders that are being signed are those with proven NL pedigree. Even riders who have had a year or two will be at the weaker end this season1 point

You're not in the know quite as much as you think, or like to give the impression that you are it seems, just matt fords lap dog keep writing the the cheques for your bit of sponsorship and they will keep you on board you mug.0 points

Birmingham can't sign a rider from overseas as they do not have the correct visa requirements in place, sponsors license etc,so any idea who could be the final signing.0 points
