  1. Thought this was a Panthers thread not Ippo...

  2. So we've got at least three Panthers fans who claim to be in the know and they all disagree entertaining stuff!

  3. Always amazes me when clubs say they may not be able to afford to run next year and then a few weeks later are building a potentially title winning side great that they are coming to the tapes though of course. Also not their fault but Congreve's average is farcical!

  4. I’ll have whatever you’re on for Berwick being a very strong looking side.

  5. Richie Worrall's Premiership scores last season riding as a HL @ No.3 for King's Lynn. Worth every bit of his 6.15 average.

  6. Emil and Hume to Ipswich providing they can sort the legalities Panthers to line up as expected for me

  7. One other bonus to pulling the fast one is first two league meetings are H&A against Peterborough so the other riders wont have a need to throttle back as they will be getting pumped anyway

  8. Not sure it matters as Leicester, Oxford & Workington have all built fantastic teams & wouldn't want to change anything, while Kent have happily built a team 2.4 under the points limit, so not planning to build a title challenging team apparently? P.s that's not an insult to Kent, maybe that she team they can afford to keep the club going?

  9. Aye Topaz ya not wrong you could tell that when Steve Lawson came second in that Chariot race wid Charlton Heston in Ben Hur... in fact am sure Steve said that's where he got the idea for the shape of the track from wid those extra wide bends... ;-) Regards THJ Beat you to it Marksman and full apology made above... and Keith told me he was only 49... that's what threw me... although he's been saying that for the last 12 years that I know... so yep big slice of humble pie.... But that's Cumbria all owa Marra when ya sister can be ya mother ya auntie and ya cousin all in one and ya grandma is a sheep... Regards THJ

  10. I wouldn't say Ruml had a bad 2022, depends on expectations I guess. It's a pity about Ablitt but lots of other youngsters have spots and I'm sure he'll get one at some point too.

  11. Welcome back to Poole Kyle. Local lad, hometown club, popular with the fans. Should kick ass at reserve.

  12. Other than tongue in cheek you won't see many (any?) Glasgow fans saying that. There are definite holes you can pick at, as there are with all the sides. I don't envisage vissing to be 8.5 rider in 2019 but somewhere between 6.5 & 7 riding at 2 or 4 rather than no.1. I've said my piece on Harris and probably complin too and not convinced by either signing. It's an exciting side but not favourites for me, 7 teams with not much between them on paper and 2 weak teams beginning with B unfortunately would be my tuppence worth

  13. Good signing and as anticipated. Won't need much dialing in for heat 2 with a lot of the new inexperienced reserves. Will hopefully also do his confidence good to beat a lot (if not most) of those guys. Just fingers crossed he can stay injury free as imo would have been as good as Howarth if not better had injuries not hindered his progress over the years.

  15. From what Danny was quoted as saying in a recent Speedway Star, I'd imagine an announcement some time this week. I'm meeting him on Friday so things may well become clearer by then!

  16. Regardless of being an asset a rider is self employed and does not have to wait if he got fixed up there would be nothing poole could of done . the asset system is entirely for the purpose of the bond to the Bspl

  17. It's certainly not kind but with the points reduction can fully understand that Poole having to empty one recognised H/L would seek to go for 2 much stronger reserves to try and make sure they p/up the points against a lot of weaker reserves in 2023 to compensate. Especially if Ben Cook doesn't fill the 3rd H/L spot that many anticipate (or hope) he might. Also I fully appreciate it was Nathan's first Champ season and against many stronger reserves but the stats don't lie. In 38 Champ matches he had 120 rides and achieved a CMA of 1.47 per meeting. Yes he would probably up that in 2023 against some weaker reserves but even that no guaranteed. His 12 match N/L CMA was 7.20. A number of Champ reserves for 2023 had higher N/L av last season so no guarantee he would push on so much say against a Roynon (anticipated at Poole) who had a nearly 2 point higher av and with his experience will probably score a lot more against the younger inexperienced reserves. Yes it is a shame but as said elsewhere hopefully he will pick up a slot, especially if he improves his av in the now 8 team NDL as well as getting experience in the U24 POL EXL in Poland.

  20. A nice 8 points from 4 rides from Zach Cook in the 3rd round of the Aussie Champ earlier today after a pointless first ride. It's good experience for him to be mixing it with the top Aussie riders and importantly getting used to riding against more experienced and quality. Also importantly giving him racing experience before the UK season towards end of March. Never expected him to score lots of points against the top guys but getting odd points here and there can only be good for his development going forward, and importantly time on the bike.

  21. How old do ya think Kieth is... you'll be another one off his Christmas card list... Correction.... and sincere apologies you are right... Best of it is and don't tell Anthony... I would have took Anthony for the older one of the two FFS... poor old Antony eh... must have had a hard paper round... Regards THJ

  22. If I was to guess I'd say Oxford might see how their 2 pointers start the season and if not scoring points he'd get in there.

  23. Even if there was I think two stronger reserves is better. We all know reserves can win meetings. Looks a well balanced team to me.

  24. It's a shame especially having had a season under his belt you'd imagine he would be one of the better 2 pointers next season. Although I'm sure with injuries etc he'll get a spot somewhere.

  26. There doesn’t seem to be the transfer “window” that we had last year, just a cut off point so changes can be made whenever clubs feel like it up to that point. Because of that it’s impossible to say who will ultimately lift the pot in August/September. There probably won’t be a single club that finishes the season with the same 7 riders that started it..

  28. No,,, Hume will start season on his above 4 average,,, his 25% is only for team building. So many people don't seem to be getting this

  32. Get what you are saying but you could say the same about 3 or 4 riders in every side. Vissing is a stonewall improver, Nowak might struggle on the two tightest circuits but should be fine elsewhere with the correct machinery. Can understand the doubts about Complin but think he'll be a very different rider to 2022.

  33. Absolute joke if true. No objection to Commonwealth riders coming in to strengthen up teams, but a 4.00 Championship rider is 8.00 in the NDL. A 4.00 CL British rider would drop into NDL on 8.00. Should be the same for a foreigner. Why on earth should we be giving advantages to foreigners over our own?

  34. That's bollix quite frankly. Since Danny boy publicly said he had plans a, b, c and a "dream team" No doubt Nathan asked or his dad asked, probably told he was in some permutations but not others and as an Asset did the respectful thing and waited. Would Danny Boy have authorised a move anyway until his own team was sorted? Nathan has been shafted by Poole and the Asset system and points reduction. The only inexperience he's shown is signing for a Club that spits out riders when it suits them

  35. I have a feeling they are saving the Emil announcement for a big media announcement with a press conference. Emil is on holiday and won't be back until late January.

  36. With no Bournemouth football match until Saturday, I wonder if we might get a reserve/s naming during this week. Bearing in mind we had the first 5 riders named in a 17 day period in December and Jan 1st I assume there is no reason why they can't announce at least one this week. Especially as most of us on the forum have an idea who they are so no work permit issues as both are Brits . I wonder if it is a work permit thing that may be holding up Plym & Brum if they are going for Aussie 4 pointers. Can't see any other reason for their delayed announcing.

  37. Keith and Anthony aren't brothers John, Keith is Anthony's Uncle. Keith must be about 80 now James probably calls Keith Uncle but he's a Great Uncle. I know James' granda Raymond very well, from his involvement at our cricket club (Cockermouth), He's a real Salt of the earth character, still as active as ever as Head groundsman at 87 years old! Those new photos look cracking btw! Reminds me of the view you get down the backstraight at Ashfield, but Northside looks even higher than that. Can see the Swedish influence!

  43. Not sure it was a ringer, Lambert was on an earned average replacing an injured rider. The doubt is whether the change should have been allowed at that stage but for the sake of the final as a spectacle I'm glad it was.

  45. This seems to sound far more complicated than it needs to be! Are they really saying, after starting using a 10 match rolling ave from 2022, they will build the matches up one by one till they get to 20, only to drop them back to 10 again by the end of the season? Or does that mean as soon as a rider races one 2023 match he'll have 9 more 2022 matches added on for a 20 match rolling ave? Part of me wondered if this is an awful cut & paste job from the 2022 regulations?

  47. He won't be in the team on 4.40. He'll be on his rolling average of 5.86. 4.40 is team building only.

  50. Wow, he's got you rattled for a start I dont know the bloke or too much about him but he's obviously trying to get the fanbase engaged and heighten the anticipation and excitement for the new campaign after a poor seadon last year. Hes essentially promoting his new club, can't see too much wrong with that. He's essentially got folk talking about Peterborough Panthers and that can't be a bad thing.
