Not sure with the points limit being raised there is a shortage of suitable riders think it's more the point that one club wants to give their Australian 4 pointer a few more extra rides .5 points

Hi Guys, Iv'e read the book and it's an excellent read from a Speedway legend. First and most importantly of all let's not lose sight that PC has been a fantastic rider, World Champion, ambassitor for England, and for British Speedway and has helped massively in saving Belle Vue from oblivion. Converserly what Chris Morton and David Gordon did in bringing the NSS to Speedway was incredible and bottom line is they should be honoured for it. The current BV promotion have lead by example with brilliantly prepared and presented race track and The Mighty Aces are back as the were back in the day ( i first went to Hyde Road in 1970 and that speaks for itself ) Above are all known facts and few would argue with. Whether B.V. are being mean spirited here or riders are asking for unreasonable requests from them is not doing either any favours and shouldn't be debated here. The fans of Belle Vue and Speedway owe all parties above a great deal. What i and others have said earlier is they should come together and sort it out before the start of season. i am sure all Speedway fans would like to see that and to see both PC and Mort back at Belle Vue along with others who have graced club - They are it !!4 points

In all fairness I'm not opposed either but the line of no riders of sufficient abilities is wrong especially with a higher points limit.3 points

I don't know where these rumours relating to Emil are coming from. On 5th March 2022 the FIM placed a ban on Russian riders and I cannot see this has been rescinded. https://www.autosport.com/motogp/news/fim-announces-ban-on-russian-belarusian-license-holders/8727244/#:~:text=The FIM has announced a,MotoGP and its supporting classes.2 points

If Tate rode for a month last year in the danish league 1 he would be a 5 point assessed rider2 points

Indeed, I look at the forum to see people's views on Speedway. Sadly have to look through dozens of posts to find the few actually talking about Poole 2023!2 points

Absolutely, I appreciate that Guy Nicholls could fund it but I just can't see it happening personally, whatever somebody's wealth that would be an awful lot of money to part with for a sport like ours. If it does happen it would give Ipswich the air of the 1998 team and all the hidings they handed out.1 point

This statement is incorrect. Your source is unreliable. Brady Kurtz was assessed at 5 because he rode in the DSL (equivalent of the Premiership). Zischke has not ridden in the DSL.1 point

Regulation 010.2.2 (a) states that a rider new to the Championship who has appeared in Danish, Swedish or Polish League racing in a previous season will enter the Championship on a 5.00 average. End of.1 point

Like you I miss not having these excellent magazines dropping through my letterbox each month. As a contributor to both, I'm hoping to fill this void by putting a free online "magazine" up each month. The first "issue" can be found at https://classicspeedwaymemories.webador.co.uk/ Hope you like it. And a Guid New Year to you all. Best regards Doug Nicolson1 point

Here's the link to the full five-minute extended version of Claire Hannah's interview with PC which was broadcast on ITV Granada Reports tonight. That's what I've been saying all along on the Ipswich thread but some ITK's have sources who keep saying this deal is happening and the delay in team building speaks volumes imo. Ipswich would've wrapped up team building before Christmas if the Emil rumours were fake imo.1 point

Reporter Claire Hannah's piece with Peter Collins will be on ITV Granada Reports, in the north-west region, from 6:29pm tonight (Friday, Dec 30). An extended version of this interview will appear on Granada Report's website later. I'll post a link as soon as it's available. Signed copies of PC's book can still be obtained from us at www.retro-speedway.com1 point

Unfortunately you are correct the league is now stronger so how does the young British lad get a team place if club's are not going to run or topped up with international riders this is not development1 point

N.P.....would add a bit of spice to the league...people would pay to watch him......1 point

If Ipswich can afford both Doyle & Emil then Tomalin can afford Nicki Pedersen. Everything coming from Tomalin's social media accounts suggests title challenging team with major signings still to be revealed.1 point

Tate only rode a few meetings in Denmark (not classed by FIM as a regular Professional racing) so would be on 4.00 in the Championship - or so I've been told!!! He's also signed for Brovst in 2023 presumably as a squad member, so possibly rules him out of Wednesday UK fixtures as well as Tuesdays due to the Polish U24 fixtures ?1 point

Thanks for the reply. We are going to try and make it quite early in the season before the Eurosport coverage starts. Ideally would love to go back to Belle Vue but if for some reason - weather/other we can flip over to Wolverhampton. Well that’s the plan.1 point

You surely know enough about Polish Speedway to realise that is a list of the Czestochowa team(1-5) for 2023 and it lists Miskowiak as the U 24 rider. From SGP website Each country can line up with four senior riders and one under-21 substitute.1 point

Looking at the teams signed so far, I think the play-offs will make the season far more dull. Leicester, Oxford & Workington look so strong it's not inconceivable that they could win all their matches (except when they race each other), so it's likely they'll clinch their play-off spots very early on & then have a wait to ride in the matches that actually matter! That's the downside of the play-offs, could end up being, six matches between 3 awesome teams just to pick play-off opponents. Followed by 4 matches between them to decide the title?1 point

It suggests to me that he is now a senior and not U 21 any more Seniors: Leon Madsen (Denmark) Mikkel Michelsen (Denmark) Kacper Woryna Maksym Drabik Jakub Miskowiak (U24)1 point

In no particular order, but top teams so far look like:- Oxford Plymouth Redcar Scunthorpe1 point

Crazy that he is saddled with a four point average when really he is a two point man, Brummies straight away taking a two point hit in the team total. What I will say though is that because James is from Australia, there is more emphasis on him to make it because it’s a long way to go home if you don’t make it. Justin is a good rider, I like him from his short time at Lakeside but he’s not a second heat leader in the traditional sense. Birmingham might get away with it at home but I think they will have some drummings on the road and not pick up any bonus points.1 point

More memories from the Abbey Finn Thomsen scoring 19 points for Wolves on a oversized engine…. Dennis Sigalos scoring a 15 point max for. Hull from reserve ( never met Kilb). .Einar Kylingstad scoring a 15 point max from reserve for Kings Lynn. Ivan Mauger having a police escort him out of the stadium after fencing Kilb.. Briggo coming back with Hull scoring 11 points after being excluded under the 2 minute rule in heat 1.1 point
