I don’t get the moaning, is Harris a better #1 than what we had last year? is Nowak a more exciting prospect than Broc Nicol ? is Tom going to improve his average if he moves to 3? is Claus going to improve on his 5 point average at 4? Will Ben Kick on at 5? not a Scooby who could go in at 6 but it’s going to be a 4 pointer ??? Any Aussies we’re unaware of?? Do we now have a 2 pointer that every club in the league would’ve been wanting with and extremely experienced mechanic and advisor in his pits? all this would be done on a 2 point drop from last season. I would like to see any other team have as an exciting group of riders as this to look forward to in 2023.5 points

Yeah, I’d prefer Harris for the entertainment, although it’s a big average with the limit where it is. Lawson’s very good, but I want a rider to make me draw breath, like Ben does, or Rasser did, or Ulle before his injury.4 points

Think positive people. There's only 8 home matches to watch this team instead of the 16 there was originally going to be.4 points

Except Thomas Jorgensen has an average 2 points higher than what he is and what he’s worth… So really we’re 2 points under the limit, but with two 2 pointers at reserve and so no one to bail us out of meetings. In all my years of supporting Berwick Speedway, since the 90’s, this is probably top 3 worst teams I’ve seen.4 points

May be you should read his very extensive interview. I'm by no stretch of the imagination a fan of his but it's a pretty detailed explanation on a number of topics and very interesting. He is lets not forget now a Director of BSPL. As are others at the top table. That's a far more responsible position than the old Management Committee and its now a Limited Company listed at Companies House. A lot who criticise him haven't the balls to take on the role nor the responsibility. He deserves resect for that, however much you may agree or disagree with his ability in doing the role.3 points

Unfortunately you can only lead from the front if the followers want to follow and as is blatantly obvious they don't . Example let's do 2 home 2 away meetings to increase the fixtures to be more relevant majority agree so announcement is made 10 days later the followers don't want it so major u turn like is said individual businesses running there own way and the organisation can't sanction them as they need them . Season runs over because of a load of different circumstances yet it's the organisations leader who is vilified and not the individuals who run the clubs who choose not to run for weeks on end during the warmest summer for years again clubs will only do what suits them and not the sport3 points

Whether he is or not, you dont see a queue of promoters fighting with each other to take over from him do you? A thankless task I would imagine... I remember reading Jon Cook's summary of his time on the MC in the Star and the amount of pressure he got put under when being asked (often at the last minute), to make a ruling on a guest replacement for example... Promoters threatening to not run meetings, close tracks down, if they didnt get the result they wanted... Unfortunately so much of the issue all goes back ultimately to having a "subjective rule book" rather than a "specific" one... Meaning interpretation is often allowed... With the ultimate in fudge and cop out being the "in Speedway's interest" catch all caveat.... So many issues... Yet. So many are self inflicted...3 points

The official confirmation that everything is officially completed for us to continue at Armadale announced tonight at the home highlights evening. Roll on 2023.3 points

The tipping point for me has always been a 20 quid note,,, but a 20 quid note and change,,, it's over my vfm point.2 points

If Chris Harris signs and comes with attitude wants to a right a wrong in his career and shows same commitment he has for the most part in 2022 then I'm sure I can forgive him. I just find it a bizarre choice given the disaster that stint ended up being previously2 points

I've seen those responses,, and some of those people live on a different planet. In fact,, I would say most are absolutely clueless about speedway and what makes a good or bad team.2 points

I took my statement from facebook responses, but saying that they are the same who want to see Rory back on a 7+ after having a year out Hope Doyle and Louis have spoken to get Lidsey he was two places below Bewley in the averages in Poland last year and is on an average that is legally cheating2 points

This is why I don't think it's Harris. It's an irresponsible usage of too many points. Lawson makes far more sense.2 points

Glasgow have played it well I think. Let the rumours about Harris go round for a while so Glasgow fans can get used to the idea. Otherwise if announced too quickly they would have hundreds of Victor Meldrew's on their hands!2 points

I cant get into the mind set of signing a team in full knowledge that you are making a team change or two just a few meetings into the season. Either the team is good enough or it isn't.2 points

For my money I'd rather not see Heeps return. He came in as a heat leader with potential to improve & finished up at reserve, I'm sorry but i've seen enough of Mr Heeps. Another from this line-up I would rather stayed away is Lee Complin, his gating is not good enough for a track that has such a short run to turn 1 & he over-rides when behind & on more than once cost his own team points after obstructing his team mate. I'd say the #7 would most likely be Henry Atkins. Well until he stamps his feet as he has done at Somerset & Plymouth when he gets replaced in a race. I believe he is a fair NDL rider but the Championship is to strong for him. The return of Jack Thomas to Cowley is a must he was the star of the side for me.2 points

I think the UK is considered as 1 of the 2 other leagues( so Premiership/Championship is counted as 1)a Polish league rider can sign for.2 points

Considering the likes of Josh Bates and Max Clegg have been considered rising stars in the not so distant past I can’t see any problems with Hume being one now.2 points

Three of those highly unlikely to ride over here I'd say and the other will only be at BV if he does. Maybe Ippo is the Prem club Rew has signed for? Difference is plenty of people will buy Malteasers at one or two pounds regardless, speedway doesn't have that luxury. Perhaps they think only the die hards are left and they would pay whatever was charged!1 point

I'm not against Harris per se. I'm against us signing a rider on Harris' average, at Harris' age and with Harris' past weekend commitments. For the avoidance of doubt if Lawson and Harris were on the same average I'd want Harris! I'm genuinely not that bothered about my team winning trophies. I pay my money to be entertained and Harris is more entertaining than Lawson. I just think it makes more sense, as the objective of the management is of course to actually win trophies, to sign Lawson over Harris.1 point

You will be lucky if they have just put £1 on the Admission prices. At Sheffield they have put the Adult price up from £19 to £22.1 point

Harsh but true! I can remember Louis speaking on radio Suffolk after the play off defeat and he accepted we’d done well (which we did to be fair) but also accepted there was a growing frustration amongst the fans that the wait for the title goes on. In his own words “ we HAVE to be winning it next year”. So let’s see whether he’s as clueless as some of those fans when he announces the team to pull it off1 point

I don't really understand this argument that bonus points will benefit "technical tracks" as 1) Teams have to win on aggregate in the play-offs already 2) clubs like Edinburgh & Wolves keep qualifying for the play-offs but don't win on aggregate, I assume most people would say these are "technical" tracks?1 point

If Captain Hook had two hooks instead of one and two wooden legs I reckon he could count on his fingers and toes how many promoters use profits from their Speedway to subsidise their other businesses1 point

Close Lisa. It's Tate Zischke. Been trying to find out how both he and Keynan Rew did in the Aussie U21 Champ Final in Gillman today. Can't find anything on UK or POL sites, or via Google and it finished a good few hours ago. Was live streamed but not keen on paying for overseas streaming services. If anyone knows would be good to find out. For sure I would think Speedway News POL will report all the details in next day or so as they are pretty good in giving full heat results and each riders scores. Would love to see both sign but I doubt we will be that lucky .1 point

but isn't that down to individual tracks and possibly their own business model? some clubs will be let down by their landlords too, what can the BSPL do about that? if some clubs want to pay well over the odds then it's their choice, and hopefully this year things can be reigned in by controlling guarantees to riders .. in my mind that's what has been one of the biggest issues over the years as riders know what they'll get whether they score 0 or 15.1 point

If it's Connor Bailey I'm never coming on this forum ever again... The Glasgow and Poole fans will not stop talking about it for at least 3 months if that happens1 point

Is this the same Rob Godfrey that has been at the helm since 2019 and for whatever reason has seen the demise of Rye House, Somerset, Swindon, Lakeside, Newcastle, Workington, Buxton, Cradley Heath, Eastbourne, Isle of Wight & Stoke since the end of the 2018 season... surely the most disastrous chairmanship of anybody in the history of sport. I'm not sure he's the man for the job personally1 point
