Brilliant to see a rider not having his head turned by the financial riches of the Premier League in GB. Good for him going to one of the lower league teams in his pursuit of happiness rather than money.6 points

Don’t think you’ll find many riders that will race in the Ekstraliga and a championship club in the U.K. only leaving out the premier league. regardless of what happens with the league and playoffs and all the “Facenas are throwing money desperately trying to win the league.” Statements. I genuinely couldn’t give a hoot, because thanks to them we now get to watch Ben Basso fly around Ashfield for 16 league matches and that’s worth every single penny of the season ticket.4 points

Don't bite. When you're nearly 5 points over the alleged points limit tell me how you go about the next season without making changes2 points

I agree with your comments & clearly don't expect to see half of those riders in the UK. But GP rider Lambert didn't get his average re-assesed. Neither did Jakobsen, who will use his 2018 ave in 2023 (despite riding the required 6 league matches this year)!2 points

Think we should try and get TJ in the team this year would have been a good last signing if he had been doing the Championship last year2 points

Also need the points limit announced. Once I know the team building plans makes picking teams more fun (for me).2 points

1) as Ruml got his average based at reserve for 90% of his fixtures, I'd rate Hume higher as he spent more time in the top 5. 2) before his last match of the season I'd have said it was too early for Ace in the Champ. But after he beat Masters at Redcar I quickly changed my mind!2 points

If i was a betting man which im not as its a mugs game !! Basso WILL join a Premiership team before the season starts in March2 points

Still much work, support and financial backing required I would think before the start of the season , hopefully local businesses and fans can really get behind the project and make a success of this new venture,2 points

Ben Basso gives off LIV golfer vibes. Don't know about other Panthers fans but I'm not too fussed about losing him tbh. Yes he's very good around Peterborough but he's on a 6.81 average and that doesn't represent good value for someone who was pretty poor away from home imo.2 points
-
I say that because I feel like we're letting the only riders who can win a race around Peterborough go. The replacements would have to be track specialists who can score big points around Peterborough and I just don't see where they're going to come from at the moment. The points limit will be higher next season to a point where clubs won't have to release much if anything from their 2022 sides.1 point

As Brennen is an asset and baring injury will only get better and better, surely whoever you have I would have thought build it around Basso and Brennen?....1 point

Maybe eating dodgy burgers or missing a flight perhaps? Did the Dane not also change clubs in Denmark halfway through the season?1 point

A Dane that was signed and lowering his average for next year in July/august time by any chance.1 point

Good signing. If he is captain does that mean Bomber is on the move? I am assuming Bomber was captain in 2022.1 point

Seems to come with a bit of baggage. Think stoneman & mulford all I can see from a quick scan through the NL fixtures. Coles and Kinsley be nearer 3s I'd guess. If looking long term Freddie hodder or Jody Scott if team set up like Poole this year and no pressure on no 7? Not sure the mcgurks are ready but might find a few of these riders thrown in this season with reduced points limit1 point

In fairness, and with respect to NKI, they were all better at their peak. I'd argue they all probably still are.1 point

Sam hagon probably the best potential 2 pointer around, had experience of Poland and international competitions but as mentioned earlier might be more likely closer to home at an Oxford or something. Off top of my head struggling to think of any others I'd take a risk on1 point

If I was the 6th best rider in the world... And put as many bums on seats at the NSS as Dan does.. I too would definitely be asking for "silly money"..1 point

Sarjeant is retired and I think josh will stay now that we have the track for another year but with the uncertainty he was definitely burning the ears off other promotions for next year at the end of the season.1 point

You could be forgiven for thinking this way. However, there have been flashes of the "old Joe" (e.g. at Poole in the first leg of the play off final). 18 months ago, you'd have said he was ahead of Dan. Clearly Dan has pushed on since then, but I don't think Joe has lost the ability to succeed. As we've seen numerous times before, there have bunch of factors that have knocked his confidence. A change of track and maybe the absence of the obvious and constant comparison with his brother might just do him the world of good. I, for one, wish Joe every success next year. Anders clearly has a lot of potential. But he has to realise that you have to serve your apprenticeship. In order to move on, there is a lot to learn and not just on track.1 point

Is it still the case that E Winner league riders in Poland are still restricted to two other leagues then? A bit of a blow to Peterborough but can't blame him for wanting to stick with such a well run club as Glasgow1 point

Had a very brief chat with him and it seems he just loves the track. I'm sure he feels really well supported too. Interestingly, he said he really struggled with the track for the first four or five meetings. He definitely improved a lot over the season but I don't remember being disappointed at his early performances.1 point

80% (£4m) of a £5m contract, that wouldn't be on the table without an introduction, is an even better 'earner'. Don't forget, 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing....1 point

PC and we and very much looking forward to this event. Peter will be bringing along his 1976 World Final leathers and body colour, which should make for a neat photo opportunity. We will also be selling our Retro Speedway DVDs on the night, including our brand new release DEFUNCT BRITISH LEAGUE TRACKS 2, Sadly, Brandon obviously features among the 14 new additions since we produced volume 1 some years ago. To check out the full range, please visit www.retro-speedway.com1 point

Certainly good news but return of a functioning stadium still long way off. The developers may call it a day and try to sell but renovating the stadium to its former glory not exactly a attractive business proposition .1 point

Sorry been busy As @Neila said New Worky Travel Lodge 10 mins walk to Northside and that's even using the same Zimmer @geoff100 uses and 10 mins walk into town to the main drag for a drink in Worky... Not been since Covid 19 started but there is a Wetherspoons and the run along the main strip in front of the other hotel called The Washington Central Hotel is a good night if you get your timings right as the place is like Whitley Bay in Newcastle every one moves at certain times to the next bar and there are several drinking establishments usually starting at The Curwen; Dukes Bar; 32 Bar; Soul Suite; 2 Bar: Ship Inn: The Well: The Junction; Padua's Bar all within 300 metres then the hotel is about 50 metres away from them all (so no Zimmer required) and the British Legion if you carry a club card or you could stay in the Golden Lion in Maryport and there are 8 bars within 100 meters of that spot with an excellent curry house in the Maryport Tandoori (Ali the owner is a sound guy) but about a 5/6 mile run to the Northside track; however you are more than welcome there if you want to tie in for a beer or two no problem... well that's my bit for the Cumbria Tourist Board... I wont be the team manager we have a young and thrusting young chap lined up for that role... keen as mustard he is... Saturday or Sunday afternoon racing to start with which will be decided at the first Management Committee Meeting in the Golden Lion at Maryport on the 25th of November 2022 and if anyone wants to get any information first hand we will be in the Bar once the meeting is over hopefully by 9pm at the latest... any and all are welcome for a beer... After a fight the Electric Company are putting a transformer back in but we will have to wire up to a feed pillar next to it... Finally cables for floodlights being priced up now however this will be one of the biggest investments we will have to make so maybe not the first season to race under lights but it will come eventually and anyone looking to be a sponsor lets have a chat and anyone wanting to invest lets have a chat and anyone wanting to fund a foray into the Championship lets have a chat as any and every option will be explored... Not saying you're right or wrong... Just saying the argument is pointless... Both riders are better than the other on different days, Jack has been better in the GP compared to Max, but Max has been better in Britain. I'm just happy to see them in this country and hope they're both back next year, plus Doyle and I can't stand all 3 of them, just respect how good they are, more loyal to British speedway than our own GP riders. Would love to see a few more of the bigger names back, Freddie, Bewley, Thorssell, Chris Holder etc... Maybe a few new faces... Please...?1 point

At the start of 2016, Dan Bewley was very much outclassed in the Championship, but stuck at it (and Edinburgh stuck with him) as he developed through the year. Ace should be given the same chance.1 point
