  1. Tbh I don't understand all the hate for Lambert, yeah he's never going to be a world beater and he's not the greatest rider ever to grace the sport, but I'd happily have him in my team as a number 2, always a trier and a solid, experienced rider, particularly at scunthorpe and other similarly sized tracks. I quite liked him at Newcastle even though it didn't really work out for him. He's nowhere near one of my top choices don't get me wrong, but he's not so bad that you'd have to be daft to sign him surely?? And although I don't really know him personally he seems like a really chilled nice guy

  2. I started supporting Glasgow in 1964 and I can honestly say that I have been enjoying the best racing in the last couple of years. What the Facennas have done for the club is immense and the way the track has been prepared lately has provided some absolutely fantastic tussles. There are so many racing lines so not just providing the occasional pass but passing and re-passing on several occasions. The downside of this is no, or very little, home advantage which makes it easier for visiting team as most riders seem to love riding the track. I’m happy to forfeit home advantage (and therefore part of the chance of winning medals) to see exciting racing week in, week out. That’s my positive view despite all the shenanigans (more than usual) that have made our sport a bit of a laughing stock this year.

  3. If there were possible delays and the “i’s and t’s” weren’t crossed then don’t tell people news would be released on a certain date. I’d imagine Panthers fans were looking forward to today and are now disappointed and frustrated. If nothing is finalised, don’t say anything until it is!

  4. I went up to Redcar and Berwick to follow Scunthorpe and spoke to Lambo in the pits ,hehad been on the phone to all sorts of riders asking if they would guest for us . That stands well with me knowing it meant something to him to try and get us in the playoffs , it’s a yes from me for Lambo . Also an ex Scunny ride will be back and cut down on his travel time from last season

  5. Well personally, I DO have a desire for weekly speedway along with everyone I stand with at Glasgow.

  7. Read an Interview on FB with Lambert he said he's signed up with a Championship team for 2023. Can only be at Scunny as no one else is daft enough to take him.

  8. Championship 36.00 that’s NDL standard, what would you charges for admission. No way that will work.

  9. That's bad customer relations but I guess par for the course with speedway promotions. Chris Shears during his one year at Cowley was another who mixed with the fans but had his wrist slapped by the BSPA for the audacity of running an old fashion second half for the benefit of the fans!

  11. Everyone knows that when any agreements between parties are put in place , theres always the chance of possible delay's , Everyone wants to hear that something positive is in the pipeline if it takes another couple of weeks to sort it out further then patience is the name of the game in this case

  12. What a contrast to last season’s, Dads Army walk on’. Wouldn’t put either in my team next season. Probably the reason they couldn’t be arsed to respect the supporters of many years.

  13. Neither turned up to the end of season party.

  14. Paid 17, 11 & 7 in last 3 appearances at ashfield. Not saying I'd sign him but evidence he doesn't only go scunny

  15. Yeah I agree with everything you say he gets hard time for no real reason he averaged 4 points away this season and 6.24 at home which is a fairly normal difference between home and away averages I would say

  16. Absolutely well worth it. Both the Museum and the Wildlife Park are worth a visit on their own, let alone getting to see both.

  18. Is that average of 7.10 the laps between him sitting down again
    2 points
  19. Yes definitely if he is available. Worrall can only ride at number 2 and he is too much of a luxury on his average for that. Schelin is more flexible for team positions.

  20. To be fair he wasn't having a bad season especially at Plymouth unbeatable there on his day

  21. The issue with Cardiff is hotel costs. People can justify the tickets as it's a one-off each season. Factor in the hotels, you can get a weeks holiday for the same. Last years ticket price + hotel for 3 (2ad - 1ch) of us currently looking at around £325-400. Unbelievably expensive for effectively 30mins of actual racing.

  22. Most promotions don't really care about the fans unless you're investing as fan or sponsor. Sad when you think of all the thousands of fans that have disappeared in the last 10 years or so.

  23. All looks a bit uninspiring doesn't it, what happened to the big stadium events in Speedway country's like Parken, Horsens, Ullevi, Stockholm etc.

  27. Holding over the completion of a competition to the following season is not without precedent. But completing a competition with only two out of the three finalists, with the two remaining teams operating in separate leagues looks like a bit of a nonsense. If Leicester and Poole, jointly, want to run an interleague challenge, with Poole running a guest or Leicester having somebody stepping down for the night, well fine. But please, let's give up on a competition that "died" some time ago.

  28. I am utterly dismayed that they honestly believe they can bring some credibilty to this competition by staging it with guests next year. Bury the problem now and don't drag the self humiliation into 2023. The fact that the decision makers are never accountable for their hapless decisions makes it easy for them to blame the weather, stadium owners, rider availability, (delete as appropriate). As a board of directors they don't even measure up to the village fete committee, I assume they all sit on the board the monkey effed the cat on not a limited company!

  30. Rambo is 100% committed to whoever he rides for, & is brilliant for team spirit. Would much rather have him in my team, rather than an overrated foreigner who will cost more with flights etc, & score less points.

  32. Simples: Chris Harris guests for Lawson ... unless he's already guesting

  33. That's why I don't want him tbh. All depends on what side of the bed he wakes up on every week. He's got the talent but it's irrelevant if the mindset isn't right. Could turn up and score anywhere between 8 or 2.

  34. He does tbh. Think Hans only has a year or two left in him riding as a reserve tbh. Just a case of what frame of mind Cookie's in.

  35. Personally feel Cook has more left in the tank than Hans

  36. All for Troy Batchelor as our No.2. He's got his average riding as a HL so I can easily see some value on his starting GSA. Troy can put a point on that imo. Rob Lyon also gets the best out of riders. Look at the 2021 and look at Harris this year for examples of that. I'd much rather have Hans Andersen at No.6 than Craig Cook though. I think Hans is better around Peterborough as well as the small tracks like Ipswich & Wolves and I think he'll score good points around Leicester too as a reserve.

  38. The main problem apart from getting enough people to fund the revival is getting an attractive competitive team that will win matches at home, all this will cost more money to pay the better riders. This last year most people were not impressed with the overall strength of the team and when you have your number one rider not being available after the first few matches, the weakness of the team clearly showed up as time went on and the crowds slowly drifted away.until it was obvious it couldn't continue.

  39. Or even the Worrall,s get back together at Leicester.

  42. I would have thought they would have made a big loss on Cardiff, surely they couldn't have expected 19k when crowds had pretty much increased year on year culminating in the biggest crowd ever in 2019! They're probably tied into a multi year contract i would have thought... I wonder if there's a get out?

  45. Glasgow. have never indicated that they wish to be reinstated so hardly tough.

  46. If you had a view of the crowd from the back straight, you might've thought differently. Lots more grey on show and, am not talking about hair, just concrete.

  49. Francis Gust is someone I’d be really intrigued to see in witches colours next season. Looks a fun hard working young rider. I certainly wouldn’t mind taking Pickering from our friends north of the great divide
