Good point. But the gospel according to Lisa Colette then decrees that Poole v Glasgow is wiped from the records last season, since it happened on November 4th and Glasgow v Poole had already occurred on November 2nd. Glasgow therefore won the league 50-40 from the only staged leg. Do you want to change your mind about this one?10 points

Why don't we just call the League Champions the team who get the most league points. Playoffs can just be a little tournament to keep interest in the top teams until season ends. Is that just too easy for all to comprehend?4 points

It looks like Buster has worked his magic and got the track back into shape! Think he will be required on Friday too to stop any last-minute issues depending on amount of rain over next 4 days! So, will Howarth be available now and will Morris be in the side?4 points

It ain't great from the Leicester promotion is it... If you say "Details of a re-staging date for this week will follow later today.", yesterday and then just put nothing else out, not even change it to Details of a re-staging date for this week will follow in due course, it just makes an already bad situation worse imo4 points

I love that. Especially with Robert: “thanks we’re given for their assistance”. It was a bit more than that, wasn’t it? “Thanks for coming in as a ringer on an out-dated average and winning us the league. And more thanks for b***ering off after only three meetings to save us some cash”!4 points

Day after day, week after week, year after year, irrespective of league they are in these arrogant idiots are at it. The sooner the Barrett helicopter is spotted over Wimborne Road and the New Estate footings go in the better for the Sport in the UK Free of these insufferable serial cheats and their arrogance. Good riddence when it comes. I miss great rivals like Cradley and Coventry who were bitter rivals but they earned respect as did their supporters. Not Poole.. Hated for what they are. Arrogant cheats.3 points

And they are here to stay as most if the time they can actually ensure clubs stay in the black and even make a good profit.3 points

When the Payoff's were introduced for the 2006 season. that was the time for me to walk away from the sport I watched since 1964, the League Champions should the team who has the most points at the end of all League Matches, not just the ones tagged onto the end. I have kept an eye on things as the years have passed and nothing has happened to make me regret that decision, my general health is so bad now stops me even thinking of returning and I not surprised that attendances are dropping every year.3 points

I’m not sure it matters though does it? The situation has been clarified by both sides. Glasgow felt the track conditions were deteriorating and that although it might be rideable it wasn’t raceable. Poole were happy to continue. The referee agreed with Glasgow. Poole were disappointed but not deflated given the scores when the two legs were staged. My opinion, note the word opinion, was that Glasgow were always going to be beaten on aggregate. Running r/r for Ostergaard, losing Hume to injury, having Tom Brennan in the middle of a flat out run of meetings and with Craig Cook being less than at his best, certainly hindered them especially up against a team with an unchanged all season 1-7 and arguably the best team spirit in the league. It therefore follows - opinion again - that Glasgow should have continued the meeting at Ashfield rather than incurring the cost of restaging.3 points

If you were a sponsor or whatever you are at my club I would take a very dim view of the stuff you come out with on here.3 points

I’m dumbfounded even after fishing trip and whoppers are mentioned they still take a giant sized bite. Hilarious.3 points

So, Friday it is then. 7.00pm start for a double header. Hmm…. hope they have allowed for a sun break and ………watering the track!2 points

Sad confused and bitter. As for wishing a club to close that's just plain stupid and out of order. We're quite used to the jealous, envy and hate - it comes with a fair degree of success. Ask any speedway promoter if their attendance increases when Poole visit. It's a Yes from me ... and them.2 points

Surprise Surprise a Poole fan trying to be funny, you must of went to the same school of comedy as skids.2 points

As long as no rain on Friday then it should be good to go as there will be no dirt on the track to get waterlogged until the day of the meeting, That is the plan I am led to believe once they have taken it all off to the stone/concrete base any water should just run off and be brushed away during the week.2 points

I would say only if we can swap them for.... But you don't have anyone I want in the Poole team haha.2 points

I would have thought it was fairly obvious, the less matches that count the more GSA can be manipulated.2 points

PC spent all day Saturday back at Retro Towers signing lots more copies, and we have hired extra staff to catch up the backlog. We've already made two trips to the Glossop post office sorting depot this morning with numerous sack-loads of books. Thanks for your continued patience.2 points

But is that a rule, a policy, a guideline or an aspiration?2 points

It should be simple but the people who run British speedway make it seem incredibly complicated. I think they have proved beyond doubt that they are not fit for purpose, unless of course their purpose is to run our sport into the ground as far as they can.2 points

Need to have the League and Play-Off Matches done & end Sep or 1st week Oct latest ( plus Play-Offs only involving the top four teams - not top six - ridiculous that a team finishing in 6th place can still win the Play-Offs and therefore be crowned Champions ) As for the Jubilee Trophy or any other Mickey Mouse competition ( no disrespect intended to Her Majesty I hasten to add! ) - nobody - fans, riders, managers - cares as they are just glorified Challenge Matches and should be restricted to just one or two meets at the beginning of the season or as fixture fillers if needed during the year. Just my opinion anyways2 points

Here you go then "Poole are adamant that the lengthy wait for the 2nd leg of their Grand Final has had "no impact" on their riders" @SocialSpeedway2 points

Poole held the first leg and won 49-41. If Leicester can't hold the second leg, they should forfeit the tie and Poole be crowned Champions. I don't agree with the Play-offs and I think whoever tops the League at the end of the season should be Champions, but I believe they are here to stay. They quite simply should start the Play-offs earlier. Hoping fans turn out in what is usualy cold damp conditions is ridiculous (especially when you consider a lot of fans are of an older generation).2 points

If anyone wants to apportion blame, then those in charge of the sport should held accountable. They failed to build any contingency in so far as you have a plan for league meetings and ultimately the play offs. If the rules were strict enough and no room was given to play off system then this situation would never arise. The BSPL have failed to impose any discipline and too many promoters are willing to play fast and loose to protect their own business model rather than consider what is required for the good of the sport and the professionalism that should be paramount but alas seems totally lacking. Stick to deadlines and the rules are the rules, those who fail to comply suffer, alas no one on the top table has any balls to impose strict regulations and enforce the rules. The weather is not to blame the rules of the game are. Playoffs in September or the team finishes top of the league is crowned champions if all clubs fail to meet the final date. If you cannot complete your meetings tough, you are out.1 point

The season is officially closed - just leave it unrun and call the result After all any meeting has a result declared at heat 10 of 15 (67%) and this competition has had 5 rounds of 6 (83%)1 point

I'm in same boat mate, still waiting for my copy to arrive, fair enough though, I did read that they had over 1,000 orders for signed copies, which is great, here's hoping we get ours soon. It will be great to read what PC has to say about his racing career and I'll no doubt reminisce about the big occasions I got to witness over the years, he was the best of the best bar none for me.1 point
