  5. You fear those last three heats could cost Leicester. A lot depends on the state of the track Saturday, if its a wet mess all home advantage will be lost. As for Howarth, if he is getting married then absolutely a guest should be allowed, this final should have been ridden weeks ago.

  6. Shovlar bingo:- Massive crowd Great racing Poole underdogs Leicester's to lose now Better than the premiership final Coming to a post near you soon

  7. Just got back from meeting the true "LEGEND" of British Speedway that is PC... A phrase far too often overused but one million per cent applicable on this occasion... A good crowd it appeared so hopefully he will make a good few quid from the book.. And he looked really well, which was also great to see... PC....

  9. And who are we waiting for to conclude the season? Oh yeah Leicester

  10. Maybe they are using the Garry May pad of medical certificates - surprised he's got any left to be honest?!

  11. Why on earth would that be? There is no problem at all with stadium availability, we run into November, simple as that, you guys set that precedent last year

  12. Tractor was moved off centre towards the end of season after feedback

  13. There are only two types of fans aren't there? 'Poole fans' and 'fans of whoever Poole are riding against'. Don't think any 'neutral' fans exist.

  14. Maybe they rang Armando Castagna

  15. Another British final farce this, fans stood around while BSPL/SCB decide what to do with tie
    2 points
  16. Yup, we've been waiting since September the 24th for you to sort yourselves out. For some unknown reason you decided to prioritise a benefit meeting and the KO Cup over the pay offs!

  17. Playoffs have been going for 20 years and have been the best thing to happen to the sport. Bloody love them, even when we finished top in 2010 and lost to a team 24 points behind us. Massive crowds, thrills and winners crowned Champs. Nothing better.

  18. Really it’s a sideshow how for instance can a team that finishes 6th potentially be crowned champions. We need to get back to simplifying the sport and that means league winners are champions. This season has been a farce stumbling from one balls up to another , fixture planning has been shambolic and it needs sorted. Just how I see it following Speedway can frustrate the life out you as it continually shoots itself in the foot.

  19. That’s simply not true. We want champions who ever it is. No point participating in a sport if there’s no winner. Winning is everything.

  20. Just abandon the season,no one really cares anymore.Trophies mean nothing, the fans that’s left just want to watch racing.

  21. Has nobody thought of setting fire to the track?

  22. If the tie cannot be held by 31 October, because both Clubs have been unable to fulfil all fixtures it should revert to league tale Champions are Leicester Runners Up are Glasgow.

  23. You're forgetting the tides, when there's a high tide the Leicester track doesn't drain that well I though it was a couple of fans... can't really remember tbh

  24. They will have a guest as he is signed off medically.

  25. Due to clear in next we mins to leave a dry and breezy day. Dry all day tomorrow. Looks like Leicester riders will be greeted by a differently prepared track on Saturday, similar to what the Poole riders had to face last night, which gives an advantage to the away side.

  26. Simon Lambert missed a meeting for Peterborough at Workington i believe as he was getting married, a guest facility was granted for his absence due to the fact his wedding was obviously arranged well in advance and the meeting he was unavailable for was a rearranged meeting due to the original dste being called off, as Howarth is getting married in Mexico the facility should be available also to Leicester.

  27. No, you don’t need to do that. Don’t lower yourself to that

  28. Have just been looking at the fixture list and there's something like 13 meetings being ran in 10 days at this time of year, and a few of those are double headers. It's wet, cold, damp etc and the fans are expected to see the pinnacle of the season in conditions which is a lottery. Madness and laughable.

  31. A speedway rider getting married in October on their teams race night is a bit ridiculous!
    2 points
  32. I disagree, to get closer racing you want the gap from the top riders & bottom riders to be closer together.

  33. a runoff would have worked, anyone remember those? one rider from each team, easy really

  34. Looks like there aren't any rules... and they're making it up as they go along. Can somebody cue the Benny Hill music up again, looks like we've got a repeat of the British Final

  35. Whatever side you support it would have been a real shame for a proper club like the monarchs to bite the dust .

  36. You're right, I really should make more effort, I know I'd enjoy it, I love the speed that they generate round there, it's exhilarating from the back straight. I'm only in Northwich, easy to get there really, I think I've become institutionalised, got too comfy, used to love getting wrapped up for Autumn meetings, BLRC at Hyde Road was always mid/late October.

  37. The pay offs need reducing, drastically. Top of the league goes through to the final, 2nd & 3rd into a semi, winners to the final. It's been ridiculous this season how long Leicester have had to wait for Poole to get their arses into gear

  38. Leicester are pushing for Patryk Dudek.

  41. Just a start but a decent fixture planner may help, I'm sure more would go to finals than will on cold damp November night

  45. My copy arrived today. The weight of 500-plus pages hitting the floor from the letterbox made me think I'd dropped my wallet. Very impressive, long-awaited book by one of speedway's finest. Well done to all.

  46. Is there a reason this is starting at 7.45 instead of say 7 at the latest. Just seems madness to me

  47. Mate you can’t have a debate with anybody that doesn’t accept fact and doesn’t attend meetings. The problems that we’ve had at Sheffield have been out of control of the promotion as we all know.
