So Sheffield have had 30 weeks from the 7th April until the 27th October, could run Mon/Thurs so potentially 60 days to run 21 meetings inc all cup, league, play offs, cup final and Pairs yet have run out of dates and riding meetings elsewhere ?? this includes a league match after the semi final and final of the play offs have taken place... is there any wonder speedway is on its arse and folks stop going !!7 points

Im 300miles away and theres no rain, if there was rain it wouldn't actually be wet rain…. Poole clearly just angling to get the second leg at home. Cheating as usual6 points

Little boy sits on Santa's knee and gets asked what he wants for Xmas... "A real Dragon that flies and breathes fire" says the kid... Santa doesnt want the boy to feel let down, so remains calm, and instead diplomatically explains that not all things are always available to be given as Xmas presents... "If I cannot give you a Dragon what would you like instead young man?", Santa asks... The young lad thinks hard for a few seconds before answering.. "I love Speedway Santa so if I cannot get a Dragon as my Xmas present then I would like you to sort out British Speedway so it is ran properly, with integrity and credibility and with a fantastic marketing plan... This time it was Santa who thought hard for a few seconds before answering... "What colour Dragon do you want kid?"...5 points

I know Poole are famous for dodgy call offs but this is just ridiculous,4 points

Pretty obvious it was going to be called off with the forecast for tomorrow. Very unlikely to dodge what is coming our way and if anything the forecast has got worse as the week has gone on. Leicester will get a massive crowd on Saturday with local and travelling support. A 14-16 point win for the lions could easily be enough so it will be a classic meeting not to be missed. This two meetings are going to be far better than the dross served up with BV v Sheffield.4 points

Shocking decision! A little bit of rain and postponed! What a bunch of cheats we are!!4 points

Are they going to refund the admission charges fan paid to watch meaningless group qualifiers? Don't see it happening but would be nice if Edinburgh being group runners uo were offered Glasgow's place.4 points

Let's be honest all this weather talk from the Pirates fans is about having the 2nd leg so they can have the advantage of holding any "golden heats" on their home track if they are required. Golden heats should never be used to decide a Championship and would make a mockery of the sport (again) if they were. A simpler solution would be to say that in the event of a draw then the team that won the league are crowned champions, everybody knows where they stand and there's no need for the constant jockeying from Poole to get the 2nd leg.4 points

Think there are some good points being made re “post covid war” behaviour. Many older fans got used to being at home locked down and found different technology to fill their time… everything online from shopping to watching sports . Not sure that these fans will be back to stand around in the cold for 2 hours watching live speedway ……lots of sports will suffer the same problems.4 points

Pretty disgraceful from Glasgow to be honest and they should be heavily fined for failing to participate.3 points

Except the biggest cheats of modern times, anything to gain an advantage.3 points

So why are we only hearing about it now? Why were Glasgow's views not made public earlier as a courtesy to their fans at the very least?3 points

British Champion signing for a full season at Birmingham? Newcastle spending money they obviously didnt have on repairing a track to continue the season with a No1 and his sidekick No7 who was out of his depth? An abandoned British Final resulting in a rider being nominated to do the British GP ? BV signing a rider, who previously declined to ride in his home country's league, for THREE matches in a bid to win silverware? Biggest jokes though are BSPA and SCB.3 points

Not sure how Sheffield are going to cope next year with the extra fixtures of a 7-team league?3 points

For the people who can just rock up on a race night however infrequent they are and just enjoy the racing and not worry about anything else that's great, and in a way I envy them. But there are plenty of others (many of whom I expect have walked away) who ned there to be integrity, rules to be written and followed properly, for there to be a regular, almost habit forming fixture list; for there to be no guests, for the promoters to at least appear that they give a toss. The most important people of all are those who pay to get into a speedway or pay for a stream, without them speedway doesn't happen and riders don't have a career here. It's about time those who need integrity and a well run sport were given what they want, the other lot will turn up and enjoy it regardless. There can be a lot of negativity on here I grant you, but it's because people care and get frustrated by the garbage administration of it all. Its very difficult not to look at Poland and be envious.3 points

As proven hourly by politicians at the moment, it’s obviously not possible to give anything but a truthful answer to a question… So without doubt that must be the truth. PS.. I have some magic beans for sale.. Honest! DM for details and pricing.2 points

Disagree if the forecast is correct, the meeting has no chance of being on,so imo its the right call.2 points
-
The thing is we'll never ever know now will we... because Poole can't be bothered to even try to get the meeting on, they're just happy they've got the 2nd leg (at the moment)2 points

Early call off hopefully proves to be the right call, judging by the forecast it should be,however the total hypocrisy shown be Shovlar who absolutely slaughtered the Plymouth promotion for its Early call-offs even when they proved to be 100%correct beggars belief. The majority of Poole fans even Skidder1 it's pricks like Shovlar that drag your club and its name into the gutter, why do you put up with the pr**k surely you don't condone his antics speedway related or not,he's not exactly an upstanding pillar of society is he!2 points

Why is it a poor excuse it doesn’t sit right with them clearly , It’s only a poor excuse because you want it too be I personally think they are correct on this stance.2 points

Oh i think he will as will all the Poole riders, not sure the Poole riders regarded the track as wet though and they certainly seemed to be of the opinion it was raceable.2 points

The BSPL have basically been hemmed in by a wet spell of weather forecast for most parts for the next 10 days. Leicester and Poole have enjoyed extra Fixtures to get to the final so a play off benefit. If it's clear both Legs can't be completed in reasonable conditions for riders and supporters then the solution is simple. Award the League Title to the League winners and the Runners Up medals to the League Runners up. It's frankly incredible if that caveat isn't already clearly identified in the BSPL and SCB regulations.2 points

Or throw Sheffield out and award the cup to Lynn......2 points

No jockeying just simple planning and sensible discussion with which Leicester have agreed. The Lions clearly don't give a toss as they are going Prem in any case!! :-)2 points

I am only a mere fan looking at a weather forecast. I have no knowledge of this dry rain you speak of. We do a lot of angling in Poole but you appear to be fishing for something else.2 points

I think John has regressed to his MI6 days in the cold war, and was placing one of those odd little ads you used to get in the Times or Evening Standard. Well so John le Carre told me2 points

If I'm not going to see a decent race when the heats involve the likes of Doyle, Musielak & Harris I'll never. @ least I can support Belle Vue and any team facing the Witches. It is a good idea. When else can a fan see Doyle v Harris at Monmore or Fricke v Ellis at EoESg or King v Becker at Owlerton. Great idea, poorly executed.2 points

Lack of TV coverage? It was on the biggest sports platforms in Britain for over 20 years,, sky sports,,, then on to BT sports... It hasn't not been on TV for almost 30 years. Instead of investing that TV money wisely,,, they wasted it. Speedway was given the perfect opportunity for all those years,,2 points

That would mean 14 home meetings in 6 months!! Next to impossible for some promotions to wrap their heads around that. They can barely fit in what they have to do now Although I do agree with you, I'd rather get rid of the stupid cup competitions and just have an extended league. One focus... No playoffs either, top of the league wins. But what should I care... My team doesn't exist anymore and never will2 points

First name on the team sheet for me next season. Been fantastic for us and will improve on that average whichever position he rides, which is the name of the game after all. I personally feel that maybe Adam and Jack have risked over-committing themselves at times this season, but again Adam’s average is attractive for next season. Honestly wish we could get them all back again next season as they’ve been the best group of riders to represent the club in many, many years.2 points

Doesn't really matter what you say, if you can get the opinion of an SCB referee that'll do me We know the Poole riders like a wet track because they were SO keen to keep riding at Glasgow. Poole never had ANY intention of riding the 1st leg1 point
