BV got ten from Kurtz's eight R/R rides in the final, he'd have surely scored more than that. You seem obsessed with blaming BV and Lemon for defeat when P'boro were the best team across the season and deserved to win the Play Offs. Belle Vue were simply beaten by the better (best) team.8 points

Well I enjoyed it as a neutral. Close meeting, some decent races and a few talking points. Congratulations to the Aces.6 points

Nah you’re all willing Sheffield on here, right decision6 points

honestly have no idea what you are all watching, rode straight through him, exactly like Kurtz did to Kerr in ht15 points

Let's not forget though that the fixtures weren't even completed, so Ipswich could have still finished top... We will never know. Still can't believe in a 6 team league with a really decent summer fixtures weren't completed.5 points

Wrong there. The forum posting rules say only the Monmore Green track can be criticised, and no other. Keep to the rules and everything will be fine.5 points

Kurtz saying the Aces fans are some of the best he's seen in British Speedway... he's only got Poole fans to compare them with though (Don't mention Somerset)4 points

Exactly right. Clearly folk want a Sheffield comeback, but the ref got it right there4 points

Utterly disgraceful call to exclude Ellis. He did nothing wrong but Brennan was on his way down. Brennan exc was the call but all 4 back at a squeeze. No way Ellis should be exc.4 points

I'm hoping for a meeting that drags on a bit and ends level on aggregate Let's see if the curfew kicks in then and prevents the superheat to decide the title....4 points

Blimey, there's as many salty comments in here as there was in the Stead interview! Really poor from him but not unexpected. For the people commenting on the referee's gender... Nothing to do with anything and out of order imo! Male refs never make controversial decisions? People will have differing opinions of decisions tonight... FWIW, for me, heat 1 Brady had to go. Heat 3, all 4 back. Heat 11, Musielak had to go. Did the Ellis exclusion gift the Aces the title? Not by any stretch. Kurtz was just sauntering round at the back in heat 15. The title was won. If there was anything to race for that wouldn't have been the case. If someone said to me at the start of tonight's meeting that the Aces top 3 would score 22 points between them I'd be worried we were gonna be hammered. Brennan and Blodorn were excellent tonight with by far their best performances of the season around Sheffield. Last time we won it I was 9. It's been a long wait but it's over! Well done to Sheffield for a brilliant season and only lost by the smallest margin. We've been there many times. Their time will come. But tonight, it's our time!3 points

Heat 11 correct decision , heat 3 was definitely a poor decision.3 points

Why are we talking about Tai ‘the fires lit’ Woffinden? Who cares tonight3 points

What a great Grand Final this has been. Racing was tremendous, atmosphere great and showed the best of speedway. Tough on Sheffield, but as a neutral I felt the pivotal heat 11 decision was correct. Unlike heats 1 & 3, that were very poor. And Holder won’t be pleased with Kurtz but that’s speedway. Delighted for Belle Vue. As the team with probably the best and fairest racing track in the country, I’ve always thought it was a slight disadvantage in trying to win titles3 points

Sheffield robbed of the title by the ref… absolute farce3 points

Well done Belle Vue. Good meeting in terms of the close scores throughout and the controversy but racing not great, generally one line round the boards. I actually thought heat three could have gone either way, Ellis momentarily straightened up before contact with Brennan although I appreciate Brennan was heading into no man's land. Glad Holder ended up on the losing side, absolute bellend.3 points

Amazing what a fresh start and change of scenery can do. Kerr looking rejuvenated3 points

Mark Lemon is speedway's equivalent of Liz Truss.3 points

well for some reason im feeling excited about this meeting more than i have for a long time, ill be going and just wish i could stand on the back stright where we used to stand back in the good old days3 points

I wonder how many stay away from regular season matches seeing the as only qualifiers and turn out for the play offs? Could be counter productive.3 points

Who knows? They'll make the rules up as they go along (as they always do). Sheffield may even "do a Belle Vue" and find some way to bring Szmarzlick in as a late reserve.3 points

If a temporary reprieve did materialise for 2023 - can't think many would take issue with the title of a farewell event that was planned some time ago based on the knowledge available at that time. Would have thought that "rejoicing" for most Speedway fans would be the immediate response. Maybe one of Bill McLaren's "They'll be dancing in the streets of Armadale" ( and elsewhere ) quotes would be appropriate if this does turn out to be the case. Fingers crossed.3 points

As Worrall could still be at Leicester next year in the Prem, I see nothing wrong with Plymouth announcing his signing for the Champ3 points

My mother was a Peter Craven fan and a Belle Vue fan. Sadly she died in 1995 but I bet she will be celebrating this evening. Well done to all at Belle Vue.2 points

I think overall the grand final has given speedway a shot in the arm in this country, especially after two pretty crap semis, a blowout in the final would not of been good for anyone2 points
-
disagree all the decisions could have been interpreted either way2 points

So in the end Sheffield miss out because of a disgraceful ref decision on Ellis.2 points

You know what was missing? The Pirate roar and atmosphere. No atmosphere came over tonight on tv. Did you here the Sheffield roar as the number 8? Nope. As a final second leg it was quite flat, though pleased for the BV fans at the end. 29 years? Jesus! If I recall Poole whopped BV at Wimborne Road then BV went to Monmore and Wolves choked. Bobby Ott the hero.2 points

Well done the aces and great to see comets fans supporting the aces UTC2 points

Holder bottled it, going gets tough goes missing.2 points

For goodness sake. This is the Poole v Redcar post. Plymouth not involved. Whatever happened with Lawson is in the past. Kennett situation discussed over months. Put it to bed. Poole 3rd in the league position Plymouth 4th. Well done both.teams. Now come on Poole just win the playoff final and Plymouth must have a lot better luck with injuries next season.2 points

Sorry can't agree when over 90% of the riders also race in the so called lower league. Look at Peterborough last season when their top averaged rider (MPT) was only 4th in the averages at his CL team Redcar. The whole thing is a joke and and I'm afraid there is nothing but snobbery involved if any PL fan claims their league is better.2 points

What cheatings that then a bloke whose waiting for an operation, what about the snide way you went about poaching Lawson or when said person ruined a riders season by stuffing him in the fence or is that forgotten I’ve met a lot of really good and non blinkered Poole fans and they are lovely people good bit of banter between us all but you are a proper goon who knows nothing about Plymouth or Plymouth speedway the same as I do not no much about Poole apart from what I see when there racing you have some fantastic riders who will probably win the league but it’s clowns like you Why people start threads like why does everyone hate Poole it’s not the riders it’s fans like you.2 points

Yes only a former GP star , World team champion , German Champion and track specialist reserve guest that can take his place...2 points

Ive always thought the team that finishes top at the end of the regular season should be crowned champions and im not changing my opinion because my team are involved, we have finished top and lost out too, injury again. Obviously i want the Aces to win but it wont feel the same as winning over the full season and sitting on top of the pile.2 points

But this is the problem with speedway Arnieg, clubs should be at least breaking even at every meeting without sponsorship or the playoffs propping them up2 points
-
I like Riss by the way, he’d be in my team for next year. At the time we lost both Riss and Barker in the summer we’d just gone 5 points clear at the top after walloping Sheffield unless my memory has failed me. The team had a lovely balance to it and we didn’t look the same outfit after the changes.2 points
