Let's hope Belle Vue actually turn up to the final this season unlike when they lost to 6 mobility scooters and a kid on a skateboard last year5 points

Track has consistently produced the best Speedway I have seen anywhere this year... and riders from better teams than Birmingham will be visiting, so it's not a problem5 points

It was a joke about him previously taking pictures of the Glasgow track ya numpty……AND…..I’ve had a go, thanks. Get yourself a life……4 points

The 2023.GP series will not be weaker. It takes more than one season to get into GP racing…. So Dan, Robert, Jack, Anders, Micelson should only get better. Leon says he will be better in 23, as does Woffy. On form Vaculik can beat anyone, Janowski will be sometimes on it and sometimes not (as now), Dudek wil be good or mediocre, same with Doyle, Fricke could become consistent and be a threat, and Freddie…… if he gets rid of long covid he will be up their chasing the elusive gold. Kim Nilsson…. we will have to wait and see. 2022 was a breakthrough year for English riders, I looking forward to 2023. I think it is going to be a great year. Potential is enormous.4 points

Leicester won the league including the double over Poole!4 points

Has more right to be in the series than a lot of the others who elected not to qualify and rely on their past performances4 points

Good. Needs one of Glasgow or Oxford to join them for an 8-8 split in the two leagues. Increased points limit in the top tier, more riders apparently available, creating a bigger divide between the two leagues with doubling up slowly being phased out over the coming years. It’s a plan of sorts at least.4 points

Good luck to the Lions and their Promoters. It's a very professional set up and the Track has improved massively this year. I suspect a lot more focus from Dickson on the Track and fewer Training Days may be the reason as a lot of the Riders who used to flock there to train have been busy enough competitively. The Bates brothers will know all about PL costs from Sheffield and previous experience at Leicester. Their well thought out logic about rival attractions on a Saturday from SGP / Footy and Rugby make emminent sense actually, a very well supported Soccer Club and a lot of people forget the best supported Rugby Club in England on the doorstep. Thursday nights should work for them and they shouldn't have too much bother getting a competitive Team together - possibly a few big hitters too who aren't currently in PL. Some people will always knock and hate but it seems to be eminently sensible to me and good luck to them. It remains to be seen if Glasgow will bite the bullet and join them. An 8 Team PL and an 8 Team CL would seem a much better balance to me than the current 6 and 10. It may allow CL to be far fairer in terms of heat leader allocation rather than 2-3 Clubs mopping up disproportianate top end strength. Good that they will continue with the NDL too where they have some exciting 15-16 year olds starting to come through also.4 points

Well, if anyone questions why the top British riders opt out of the UK to concentrate on Poland, I think we saw why last night. Lambert was a class above all the others - even Jason Doyle. No matter about the rights and the wrongs of Belle Vue bringing him in at this stage of the season he was great to watch.4 points

As I said, he is clearly still one of the Top 15 riders in the world, and as you say, he knows how to match - and beat - Zmarzlik.4 points

Christ I used to think old Aljack (the Ipswich fans on here will remember him) was bad but this fella takes the cake. Deary me!3 points

Was stood with the Poole fans at the Pairs at Oxford. Good bunch of friendly Dorset folk, lots of girlies and kiddies following them, but annoying screaming from a couple of lasses. Posher than those raucous Glasgow lot, straight from the Ibrox and Celtic terraces, also friendly and love a drink. No hate amongst speedway fans compared to football. Even Oxford and Swindon fans chatting to each other. Gotta love the speedway fans and the 10 -team tournaments.3 points

I certainly don't hate Tai. It just seems to me that he's lost the desire to win in the GP. He's been there and done it as a triple world champ but maybe he has a different mindset now that he has a young family and he seems content to do just enough rather than put it on the line. He's earning his bread and butter in the Polish league and obviously he wants to be in the GP series to keep sponsors happy but he's lost his edge. How often has he had world beating rides in the qualifying heats only to disappear in the semis which has cost him dearly? In fact he is probably the only rider in the top ten finishers that didn't score more under the new points system than he would have in the old system because of this. My problem with him is that when it's gone badly for him, it doesn't seem to hurt compared to say Doyle or Freddie who are on it 100% and visibly angry when it's not gone their way. Maybe that's just the persona he likes to project but to me you've got to be in it to win it and to me he just doesn't seem to want it badly enough now. I could be wrong.3 points

Danyon 100% wants to come back he loves being up every week means he gets to see his young lad and should be one of the first names back on the team sheet3 points

With r/r at 2, meaning Edwards in heat 8 (waste of a ride) I'd swap Pijper & Rathbone. If Mildenhall are going to put a nigh on unbeatable rider in heat 8, I'd have my 2 weakest against him & look to pick up points in the heats without Edwards in! Edit: Oxford did the same tonight Jenkins getting an extra ride in heat 8. Don't understand that, if Oxford wanted to build a good lead for the second leg, they'd need their top man beating as many heat leaders as possible, not second strings & reserves!2 points

Jason has shown terrific service to UK speedway, only missing the full 2021 season. Not like Lambert who has missed the full 2021 season.2 points

Being on a level playing field at Championship level!!!! Prem clubs already charge from £19 to £22 for adult admission (25 for a grandstand seat at BV!). With the extra financial pressures on everyone's budget, I think it would be a very brave decision to enter into anything new with substantial additional costs - and no guarantee of better racing!! Just my opinion as one of the sponsors.........2 points

Be quite expensive if people don't attend though. Tbh I was losing interest in 2019 and back enjoying it again with the Champ racing.2 points

Ah. That old myth. Don’t let the truth get in the way of a fevered defence of the indefensible. Hancock first rode for Poole on 5 August 2013 and completed 4 home and 3 away meetings before the play offs. Hardly being signed “just for the play offs”2 points

Don’t think it was ever in question other than the usual people on here who like to think they are in the know. Still waiting on Lynn to announce Harris, Toft and basso like we were informed on here a little while ago…..2 points

If you want the GP series to be the best riders in the world then this has to be the correct set of riders. [Pending the reintroduction of Laguta and Sayfutdinov ] Creative choices for the reserve list.2 points

Yes I think they call Plymouth v Poole a local derby! It is well over 100 miles.2 points

Yes that is true, closest be Redcar? But Leicester moved up because of the long trips to Glasgow, Plymouth and Poole. So be funny if Glasgow moved up as well!2 points

Phil has employed the Belle Vue legal team and 2022 will now last 24 months Also as they are Belle Vue they can call the leagues what the hell they like. Don't like it? - See you in court.....2 points

Whatever anyone thinks about the rights and wrongs of the Lambert signing, he was sensational tonight and for however long he is involved again in British speedway he'll be a great asset to the sport. One thing is for certain, he didn't just turn up for a paycheck tonight.2 points

Yeah, we're effectively arguing about rules in a competition that has zero credibility or worth, and seemingly has less and less on each passing year, seems a bit pointless2 points

Luckily for everyone watching the Witches riders are full of pride and absolutely gave everything. They kept the score so close the meeting was always on a knife edge.2 points

In my view, any rule that gets overridden and means that a guest isn't used, is only of benefit to the sport. It's a like for like swap in reality. Fricke a multi GP winner with a higher British average being replaced by a fellow GP rider, and we all know it's a genuine injury for Max and not a Poole esque fiddle. This was a very rare example of the BSPL using some common sense. Don't expect it to become the norm folks.2 points

It’s a no brainier if he wants to come back get him signed. Likeable lad and seems a team player.2 points

I do believe it - because I was co-promoter at the time. Greg was running out of meetings in Poland and Sweden but still had five or six GPs left so was happy to keep match fit. It wasn’t originally known if he’d stay for the play offs - it wasn’t guaranteed when he signed that Poole would even make the play offs - but he chose to stay till the end of the season. He worked hard for and with the team, and helped Poole to the title against a very dominant Birmingham.1 point

Only in this country where we’ve had a warmer summer than normal can the grand final be raced in the cold of October. So much for being a summer family sport. Let’s hop the weather is kind for this1 point
