Only in British Speedway could you get supporters thinking it would be better for a team to use a guest than sign an unattached rider!6 points

Belle Vue with Max in. “Not a great team, probably choke, just don’t do it for me” Belle Vue with Max injured and replaced by Lambert. “Might as well hand them the trophy now”. No Lambert. “Lambert should be riding over here, I’m so angry he’s not”. With Lambert. “Why is he riding over here, I’m so angry”. Guest. “Guests are crazy especially in the play offs, no wonder they don’t take the sport seriously”. No Guest. “They should be made to use guests, no wonder they don’t take the sport seriously”. You guys are as dumb as.6 points

Growing up he was often heard to say.. "Ich liebe das Belle Vue Aces"....6 points
-
No way... Robert grew up an Aces fan.. His dream being to ride for the Aces and pull on that famous Ace of Clubs body colour... He had an Aces matching pillow and duvet set, and posters of Jason Crump and Ricky Kling on the walls of his bedroom... And Aces PJ's too... Oh Yes. No worries about Robert's devotion to the Aces..6 points

Poole are not moving up with current size of top flight. Interestingly, the team Poole have in the championship would probably have made the playoffs in the PL.5 points

I suspect it was more likely that a lawyer proved that the rules couldn't be proven to disallow them a replacement rather than proving they allowed them one.5 points

You only have to look at the fact Robert Lambert can now join Belle Vue for the rest of the play offs to see what a joke British Speedway is .5 points

In my view, any rule that gets overridden and means that a guest isn't used, is only of benefit to the sport. It's a like for like swap in reality. Fricke a multi GP winner with a higher British average being replaced by a fellow GP rider, and we all know it's a genuine injury for Max and not a Poole esque fiddle. This was a very rare example of the BSPL using some common sense. Don't expect it to become the norm folks.4 points

Utter BS. A shame Belle Vue have wrecked the league playoffs with this one move. Pretty disgraceful to be honest. Their title will be completely hollow.4 points
-
Forget all the different twists on the rules. The bottom line is Fricke rode all season to get Belle vue into the play offs. From his last home and away meetings with Ipswich, Sheffield and Wolves Fricke has scored 67 points. For a club to loose that fire power in the play offs down to injury in my eyes is wrong now and for any club in the future.. A like for like change in my eyes is the fair way to go Lambert will have to go some to match those scores. The change does not make Belle vue any weaker or stronger if they win it they will have deserved it if another team wins it they will have won it because they are the best and not because they beat a weakened team.4 points

You seem to have forgotten the rulebook is on the SCB website and anyone read it. The rulebook can be ambiguous - in this case I wouldn't say it was. The cut-off deadline is quite clear, while any reference to long-term injuries as in regards to how many times you can make changes within the transfer window. Belle Vue Speedway are a credit to the sport, while Robert Lambert is a terrific rider, but there's a rulebook to be followed. This is the equivalent of Man City signing Messi just for the Champions League final and makes speedway look stupid.4 points
-
Nope, seems like a lawyer got involved and proved that the management committee can't interpret their own rulebook properly. Seeing as they haven't been fit for purpose for years that's hardly a surprise.4 points

It’s a no brainier if he wants to come back get him signed. Likeable lad and seems a team player.3 points

Thank goodness they didnt show the Wolves meeting... Sam Masters just had about four goes at getting around the bend...3 points

Say what you like but manipulation of the rules started a good few years ago, in Dorset.3 points

Can’t believe that Eurosport are wasting time and money on what will be a completely embarrassing FARCE tonight when they could have chosen to cover the other semi!! Sums up the joke British speedway scene COMPLETELY!3 points

If he rode for Poole they would still be underdogs.....3 points

No way will 2023 be Poole's last season!3 points

Not for me, personally I'd always rather watch an NSS meeting rather than a Monmore one.3 points

But the original guest planned, Nicolai Klindt only chose to race in GB after his Polish season was finished, the same as Lambert!3 points
-
1. Attempted to sign Tai for home meetings only 2. Attempted to circumvent the Polish rules to sign Dan Bewley 3. Announced Jake Allen as a temporary signing while they search for a proper no. 1 with no provision in the rules to do so. 4. Sign Lambert as injury replacement after 28th August deadline by threatening legal action if not allowed to do so. I really hope they balls it up or it’ll leave a very sour taste in the mouth3 points

Berwick on a risky road really ? Birmingham already confirmed they are running 20233 points

Chris Louis as BSPL President agreed to it last week and didn't have a problem with it, it was another member of committee who kicked up a fuss and said no.3 points

Only in this country where we’ve had a warmer summer than normal can the grand final be raced in the cold of October. So much for being a summer family sport. Let’s hop the weather is kind for this3 points

NSS1 your post is on the correct thread ……the joke thread. :-)Think you have missed out on Bewdley as he has signed terms with Poole as a full asset. Bitter ? Long lost any feeling for the sport that used to entertain me. Don’t spend tuppence now on going to see todays rubbish, and even watching the free to air highlights on Quest only serves to remind me what a Mickey Mouse sport we now have. It’s all a joke and subject to ridicule by all my old friends who once went to meetings home and away. Bathe in your glorious win tonight ….. the points limit for 2023 will sort you out a new team .3 points

We have seen in the past Poole bringing in Hancock and Wolves bringing in Woffinden, now we bring in Lambert, forgetting how the rules were written seasons ago these moves did not break any rules but the one thing i dont really agree with is riders who dont commit fully to British speedway using us as a couple of extra paydays when the overseas commitments have ended, You can have nothing but admiration for Doyles continued commitment to the sport here.3 points

Thumbs up to Belle Vue for getting Robert in for Max. I hope there is an increase in attendance tonight and next week and a positive buzz around the stadium. Great to see a promotion actually 'promoting'.3 points
-
You have absolutely no right to make a comment like that.. Nothing like him at all Anyway, whilst on... Hopefully the Aces can hold Ipswich enough tonight to sneak a very close victory on aggregate... The Witches might be clear favourites but I hope the plucky underdog Aces can somehow find a way to holding on to their commanding league from the first leg...3 points

Great for a neutral I agree and great for British speedway - but were was he when the British final was run ? And had his Polish team wanted him he’d not be In Manchester tonight that for sure . Make no mistake he’s here for one reason only Robert Lamberts bank balance- doesn’t care about Belle Vue or British speedway or he’d signed for Belle Vue back in March3 points

Would be one of the biggest chokes in sport if Belle Vue don’t win it now3 points

So much of a liability that he's now helped lead the Pirates to their third final this year after helping the team to victory last year. So much of a liability that Poole have always performed strongly in away meetings this year (especially at Ashfield) So much of a liability that Neil Middleditch, one of the greatest managers of all time, reached out to him to manage the side on the road and speaks very highly of him. So much of a liability that he knows when to let the top riders do their thing and when to take youngsters like Nathan Abblitt to one side to mentor them. So much of a liability that even his fiercest critics love his openness, honesty, candour and personality. So much of a liability that you'll be crying into your limited edition Monarchs pillowcase (only 25 ever produced) when Poole lift another few trophies this year. *I'm not even a Poole fan but your comment about Gary Havelock was the silliest i've ever read on this forum3 points

This forum perfectly sums up why the sport is dead. It matters not a jot to you lot that the rules were correctly followed, it’s not even about fair play as you scumbags were rubbing your hands with glee once Max was in hospital and we had a second division rider covering - you were in glover as normally Cooks 5 to Maxs 16 would have been an issue that would have swung the tie away from the Aces. The people running the sport are fans who’ve got lucky in business and have a bob or two but primarily they are fans, just like you. Spiteful, devious, sick, just basic horrible individuals who bend and break the rules to feather their own nest and sod the bigger picture. Well done guys, you’ve killed it off with your hatred of the rule book and one particular team.3 points

Feel sorry for Klindt. Still be good to see Robert Lambert in British Speedway again. As for the rules , can't really comment being a Poole fan!!!3 points

Whatever anyone thinks about the rights and wrongs of the Lambert signing, he was sensational tonight and for however long he is involved again in British speedway he'll be a great asset to the sport. One thing is for certain, he didn't just turn up for a paycheck tonight.2 points

Brilliant night for Robert Lambert with an almost Fricke like performance2 points

Why would Danyon not return? Also, said it many times: the Premiership is crap. No one in their right mind would join it as it is now, unless is was with a handful of other teams. Six clubs, one of which is homeless after next year? That's not sustainable. No one at Ashfield is saying "you know what'd be really appealing? Six matches against the Peterborough Panthers." And not just because they have two of our riders!2 points

Aces have done nothing wrong same as wolves/poole have done in the past we all know they were underhand tatics but within the rules !! except Aces case is genuine with a rider injured and out for the season !! fans will have to suck it up like like other fans did in the past funny how things turn around2 points
-
As high as that... Your new lawyer isn't doing his job properly2 points
-
But he's only been signed to replace an injured rider? Its not a tactical change. Whatever the rights and wrongs having the world number five in the Play Offs is great for the neutral.2 points

Thing is. Belle Vue not broke any rules. A good lawyer proved that this weekend2 points
