Similarly 'Northside' alienates three other 'sides' particularly us from the South! It could have been called Westside'. .. but that's another story!5 points

My dad passed away on a Thursday in 2015, I went to Edinburgh Speedway on the Friday as a tribute to him. He was a massive Speedway fan & I know he'd far rather I went to the match than stay at home. Obviously I was mourning at the time, but that didn't mean I couldn't celebrate his life & what he loved to do at the same time. So I don't understand why Speedway couldn't show respect by having a minutes silence & then celebrating her life instead of cancelling? Anyone who disagreed with running the fixtures didn't have to go to them!5 points

Anyone who watched gorzow v Lublin tonight it was my previous post case in point perfectly, a dreadful meeting with not one pass after the 1st corner in 15 heats but a near full stadium and a win for Gorzow, every single person in that stadium would of had a brilliant fan experience, the atmosphere was amazing and the fans loving it, even the Lublin fans were chanting and adding to the atmosphere, although the tv can never catch the live experience it did capture some but for tv viewers it was a hard watch, with only the fact that it was a final keeping the interest3 points

The government have requested that sporting events should not go ahead on the day of the funeral but there is no requirement for sporting events on the weekend before to be called off.2 points

Well done Mr Lambert , he was so close to getting Zmarzlik on the back straight on the first lap. He probably had the momentum. But Zmarzlik squeezed him very harshly, but then again that's racing at the top level. But overall a better night for Woffinden as well, surprised that with their experience in Poland that Dan and Robert both got tape exclusions.2 points

Probably because he chose gate 2 in the semi, and Madsen thought it better to get to the inside of him. I would have done the same. Then I would have crashed into the pit gate, because I can’t ride a speedway bike.2 points

Nothing to do with the BSPA ROLE OF THE SCB Formed originally in 1948, under the authority of the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) the SCB was known as the Speedway Control Board, a title that stood until 2003. At that time, the RAC, through it’s subsidiary, the Motor Sports Association (MSA) relinquished their involvement and the Auto-Cycle Union, which was formed in 1903 had the sole responsibility in Great Britain for 2-wheeled motor sport. Subsequently the SCB was re-named as the Speedway Control Bureau and is authorised by the Auto Cycle Union to act as the recognised Governing Body for Speedway racing in Great Britain. Accordingly, each season the SCB produces a Rule Book entitled The Speedway Regulations, that covers all the rules applicable to the sport in Great Britain. It is available in booklet form at a small cost from the SCB Office or as a fre download from the SCB Website www.scbgb.co.uk Financed entirely by fees generated through the issue of Track Licences, Rider Registrations and Officials Licences the SCB seeks to act as the independent body to ensure that the BSPA, Member’s Tracks, Riders and Officials all act within the Rules and Regulations of the SCB and most importantly within the best interest of Speedway motorcycle racing. The SCB is managed on a day to day basis by the SCB Co-ordinator (Neil Vatcher: neil@scbgb.co.uk) and an Administrator (info@scbgb.co.uk). They are augmented in specialist areas by Track Inspectors (Alan Bridgett: alan@scbgb.co.uk & Mick Bates: mick@scbgb.co.uk), Track Curator Advisors (Terry Chrabaszcz : terrytrack@hotmail.co.uk & Andy Meredith : andym.amsa@gmail.com) and Technical Advisors (Ron Jones: jap4b@tiscali.co.uk & Jim McGregor: james.mcgregor10@outlook.com) Further specialist advice concerning Medical and Environmental matters are obtained via the ACU Committees; Environmental Advisor (Peter Gregory: pgregory@ntlworld.com), Medical Panel Secretary (Debbie Walmsley: dw@acu.org.uk) The Bureau consists of 4 nominated Members, two representing the ACU are Tony Steele and Paul Hurry (ACU Members) whilst Rob Godfrey (BSPA Chairman) and Chris van Straaten (BSPA Promoter) represent the British Speedway Promoters Association under the independent Chairmanship of Jim Lawrence (a former speedway Referee).2 points

I am not exaggerating when I say that was the worst meeting I have ever seen and I have watched racing from Berwick and Leicester. Why oh why did Discovery sign a 4 year GP deal with this dreadful track.1 point

Shame for Lublin. Ran out of steam at the worst possible time. Michelsen and Drabik invisible. 12 points too much to pull back. Terrible gating meeting. And riders like Wozniak thrive in such conditions. Lublin needed to keep it to 8 max. Game over.1 point

Thoroughly enjoyed the meeting. A sprinkling of overtaking with plenty of hard racing, a good crowd and a privilege to observe a master craftsman at work - Zmarzlik. And credit to Kelvin who's tone and words re the late Queen were spot on.1 point

Awful block of races from the Gorzow riders. Had Lublin by the balls after 4 heats when Gorzow got half of the juniors programmed rides out of the way.1 point

Its odd that the lower attendance was for their biggest meeting of the year, is that because it was Friday meeting? Some of the Polish attendance figures look dodgy, Ostrow have the same attendance(5564) figure quoted for 2 different meetings and then again with 5666. Some clubs are rounding to nearest 1000 or 100.1 point

They could maybe share the names too, as sometimes when teams move they alienate their potential fan base by keeping another areas name... If you took the T, H, E, I, N, R, G, M, O, C, and S from The Edinburgh Monarchs... And then added just the W and K, from The Workington Comets... You could call the team.. The Workington Comets.. Pleasing both sets of fans....1 point

I like Dudek but too often he seems to choke at the most important moments.1 point

That really didn’t excite tonight, I feel the whole series is just flat, I did watch all of it but wasn’t really paying attention with only zmarzlik’s races getting the interest up, it was really dull meeting, even the crowd that was good seemed subdued1 point

Name a trophy after speedway royalty, the Neil Street Trophy. Far more appropriate than a Jubilee Cup.1 point

Same width currently but with metal stock car fence. Would have to build additional fence in front of that for speedway plus air fence. More detail in the speedway star article.1 point

I would say rename the final from the Jubilee League to the Queen Elizabeth Trophy. It was named after her all along, really, but Jubilee isn't quite the appropriate name any longer.1 point

There is currently an acute shortage of riders in the U.K. for every rider in the U.K. that doubles-up that's one rider short. I can easily see 6 double-up riders retiring @ the end of this season that's 12 team places alone! Any rider currently riding in Poland but not the U.K. will require big bucks to do so in 2023 so I don't see that as the solution. We must encourage U.K. talent to take up the sport & welcome our commonwealth cousins. The double-up situation should only be used as the last resort, riders may love it but for all other reasons it's a disaster for our once great sport.1 point

Well good for you or something. You could have made the same inane point without the terrible post though.1 point

Oh no have we upset you? Opinions are like arse holes. Everyone's got one. If you don't like it then whatever . We're all speedway fans at the end of the day. Thats one thing we've got in common and can agree on. Let's not fall out boys and girls1 point

Maybe part of the BV experience is to provide the same level of chronic disappointment most of us get watching speedway these days. Turning up to find you didn't get what you paid for is pretty normal these days. The BV experience is just making it even more personal1 point

Cant help with making the track better but as ive said before. Book rooms through cardiff university. Basic but only 30 pound a night. Hundreds of places to get breakfast on sunday morning. As for tickets just buy them on the day for 20 pound. There were 40000 going spare this year. Sit anywhere. Stewards dont care unless your in somebodies specific seat.1 point
