These kind of dodgy call offs won't stop while promoters can carry on making their own decisions as they see fit without some kind of adjudication from the governing body.13 points

For what is obviously a low budget production I actually think they do incredibly well. I do think the whole thing comes across professionally but I suppose it depends on what your definition of professional is. I'm not sure what some peoples expectation of a streaming service is but its clearly not going to reach the same standards as Sky, BT or Eurosport on a fraction of the budget the big boys work to. As somebody who has lost my home track it is now the only regular speedway I get to watch and I've thoroughly enjoyed BSNs coverage so far.6 points

It wasn’t dodgy forecast though, 50% chance of showers that’s all.5 points

Wonder if Lynn,s home fixture against Peterboro on 1st September will be called off in the next few days in case it might rain.4 points

I expect there will be plenty of pleasant nights in Sept but its another school summer holiday week wasted. Back in our second division days under Jonathan we rode every Wednesday through the summer with themed meetings and the place was awash with kids. Should still be like that now.4 points

What happened to the British Speedway Hall of fame. The last one I can remember being inducted was Colin Pratt, I've not seen any since or I may have missed them, would have thought Eric Boothroyd would qualify for that category4 points

As it’s called the challenge then i think Glasgow is fine- I certainly are happier with it there than at places like Zarnovica, Gorican or Krsko.(Daugavpils would be good if prepared right).4 points

The truth is you'll never know. There are plenty of occasions where air fences have lifted and caused much bigger injuries than a poly-foam fence. Chris Holder's career was effectively ruined by one in 2013. So each fence has it's merits, and it's downsides. The FIM approval procedure is, I would suggest, considerably more involved and scientific, than some of the numbskulls on here and on Twitter. A safety fence cannot eliminate injuries. It helps to prevent them or minimise them. If any rider and some do, choose to take such a big risk, that they'll end up in the fence and expect to walk away, then I would say they are misguided. The inclusion of body armour, air jackets, air fences etc have made the sport so much safer, but some do seem to expect to have a right to walk away from any crash. I think the overall upshot from Saturday will be ( and I hope not) a move to have such meetings on a more traditional track, which can provide much less of a challenge to some of the leg trailing throttle jockies we seem to have bred.4 points

Just don’t see what all the fuss is about. It was just another meeting the track was good ,the racing was decent, unfortunately the riders that fell got nasty injuries, simple looking falls just bad luck with the injuries ,could happen every week at a track near you. That’s the nature of the Sport. Total rubbish being spouted about the safety fence.4 points

I posted the forecast from an accurate source on here yesterday. There was no heavy rain or 50% chance of showers. The call off was for other reasons in my view.3 points

As a wolves fan I think the karlson corridor is one of the worst things to ever happen to Wolverhampton speedway, that and the adverse camber on both bends that has appeared in the last few years with around 10ft of unusable track on the outside makes an already technical track just awful, it doesn’t lend itself to racers, it’s just 4 riders trying to stay on the kerb3 points

Needs to be some rule going forward that meetings being called off based on a forecast should only be allowed on morning of meeting, not day(s) before Any reason this wasn't simply pushed back to Thursday as that is an official league night?3 points

Absolutely spot on - Jonathon wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he knew how to promote yes his themed meetings might have been tacky but it got families in to the stadium and importantly children- I seem to remember he had an advertisement banner / poster of a trailer or truck he used to tow around Hunstanton and around KL and the coast road at this time of the year - bet there is holidaying families in Hunstanton now doesn’t even no about speedway at kings Lynn .3 points

Which is exactly the reason not to call it off so early - forecasts can change!3 points

It’s going to be dry till about 10pm. Maybe later. Yesterdays forecast wasn’t even enough to call it off really. Not with how well buster is at sorting tracks out. business sense might be wise yes. I agree. if Jorgensen wasn’t injured they would have ridden is my guess3 points
-
Joke call off. There wasn’t enough rain about to get it called off and todays dry nice warm day prove that. we all have to race on TV in front of poor crowds. Speedway shoots itself in the foot. It really does3 points

Have tbh I quite enjoyed listening to havvy in the Comms. Refreshing hearing someone speak honestly and say what they think. And unlike some snowflakes out there not going to hang him out to dry for a few wee swearies3 points

It’s August, it’s school holidays maybe if your club actually promoted it, put some extra entertainment on, advertise, put some special offers on. No just have a damp squib in September instead with no Tv.2 points

And people wonder why speedway is not taken seriously by major sponsors,,,mainstream media and mainstream TV. Could you imagine the laughing stock of a newspaper report,,,, tomorrow's meeting called off because it might rain.2 points

Jorgenson missing/not fit and crowds down because of 'iffy' weather and TV cameras. A must win for Lynn, not surprised in the slightest, disgraceful really2 points

Why do wolves stick with kemp? Am I the only one who thinks that? He’s miles behind every time2 points

The people to blame for tonight’s call off are not the Stars management. The hopeless weather forecasters are to blame. Last night they said heavy rain was expected at Lynn this afternoon.2 points

That would be Craig's dad and our esteemed team manager reacting to the abuse Craig was getting while lying on the back straight. Never heard an ambulance being booed off the track before last night.2 points

Rainfall radar suggests southern tip of the band of rain has passed just north of Lynn. So aside from a few odd drops it looks like it is staying dry. PS how pissed off will Eurosport be if it rains in Wolverhampton?2 points

Poole as a team are fine. Certain posters however take the we are better than everyone rhetoric too far. And that is we’re the problem exists.2 points

Did Berwick not use Glasgow to support a working 28 day visa? Don't think he raced without a visa as if he got caught he would be banned from the country for a couple of years at least.2 points

Havvy on comma made it fun tonight but 15 races starting at 7-30 and finishing at 9-50 is way too long2 points

Good meeting, good stream, great result. Redcar used the extensive track grade after ht8 to their advantage to turn the meeting back in their favour. Same extensive regrade after ht12 but didnt quite have the same effect. Use everything within your control to maximum effect as the home team. Wonder if anyone from Glasgow noticed? Asking for a friend.2 points

Well done Glasgow, proper character shown tonight. And like Ashfield, Redcar is a proper racetrack.2 points

You can really, it was 2 freak accidents. I'd rather listen to my nan's thoughts on Glasgow than a failed mouthy speedway rider like Porsing.2 points

Well done to the Tigers on a hard earned victory. Obviously gutted as a Bears fan and thought a draw would have been a fair result but not to be. Was a bit worried when I saw Lewis off one in Heat 15 and my fears proved correct. Hope Cook is ok after his horrible looking crash, Charles picked up drive and left him nowhere to go. Fair play to Tom Brennan and a brilliant choice of guest in Spud. Was a great servant to the Bears and a big loss to British speedway when he goes home. Charles and Jason picked a bad night to have their worst nights of the season and King did ok but he’s no Erik Riss (awaits 12 pages of Poole fans replies ) but what a night for Jordan Jenkins, simply fantastic. Despite losing it was cracking entertainment - bit of everything, good racing, bit of controversy (all 4 back anyone?), lead changes and a last heat decider. We may not have the strongest team but you get to entertained at Redcar.2 points

https://www.xcweather.co.uk/forecast/King's_lynn I'm not fussed they've called it off but because of the weather? Just be honest. Peterborough rearranged one under a flimsy excuse, why can't they just say we couldn't field a side or it jeopardises our business, we'd understand.2 points

Really pleased that Nilsson got through, great to see an underdog make it by rights. Poles shown up again outside of Poland, British tracks are not just flat-out and slick.2 points

That's part of the problem! How many fans would prefer to sit on a bend in a foldable chair with a flask of tea and sandwiches wrapped in cellophane to watch a meeting? Quite a few I'll bet!1 point
