On here to Litterally only be a wind up behind a fake username to try and be little Plymouth and in the end you’ve just casted more spotlight on what a great call Plymouth made. great call Plymouth and top work for saving people a pointless journey.5 points

Personally I think the scoring system is one of the few things our governing body has got right in recent years, I really like it although they spoiled it slightly by giving home teams three points for any win. I can see the appeal of the BP system but think the 3-2-1-0-1-2-3-4 is (was) better.5 points

quite agree you got one of the best managers in the game. and the worst set of luck any team can have in one season4 points

It's not the commentators that are the problem. Sure, we miss a true professional like Nigel was, but Kelvin and Chris can just about pull it off. The problem is the lack of presentation between heats. With Sky and BT we had a studio to cut to, and some for of discussion to break up the programme a bit. This is what is now lacking, and we are missing someone like Natalie in the studio. What is the worst thing about speedway? It's the tractor going round between races. What do we see on dear old Eurosport? We see the tractor going round, and Kelvin and Chris desperately trying to keep things going - sometimes, as was the case on Saturday, for long periods. When you are at the stadium, you can kill the time as you are part of an event. On the telly, it needs something else to keep the program going. This is Eurosport I'm afraid. It's just not in the same league as Sky and BT and it never has been.4 points

Bellers just take the ers off of that and replace it with end and we get you,it’s raining in Plymouth now and forecast for very heavy all day as for the guests you absolute tool worrall, Castagna and Howarth were guesting Pipe down, and wind your neck in I don’t think I have ever seen such a more appropriate username as yours.4 points

No need for that. I saw your post last night and thought it wouldn’t age well not least because, citing the weather at the marina at the time, it was clear you didn’t understand the concept of a weather FOREcast. That said, in the name of cordiality I didn’t berate you as you have done to Mike. Anyway, given you do understand the concept of a weather ACTUALcast, I can confirm that it’s raining.3 points

I think the Winner will benefit most from the aggregate points return. Wots the 'proposed' doing in there? And if those 3 club's are 'dictating' how the Championship is run then they are leading the way in showing professionalism & there's nothing wrong in that. That isn't to say that other club's are not being run professionally it's just that I'm trying to figure out ur cryptic message.3 points

Can you please remove this post. Mr Carter was not married to this person. It is in extremely bad taste to say things like this on a public forum. Please have empathy and respect for people who have autism and special needs. And respect for her family.2 points

Speedway a team sport that doesn't have tactics or any true meaning of a team sport just a band of riders who pull on a teams race jacket a couple of times a week before riding for someone else the next night.2 points

I should imagine it will be big crowds at each leg of the final. Great decision from the BSPA. Be lucky to get 800 at Sheffield. Will be 2000+ at each venue in the final.2 points

Having had a few days to reflect, what an absolute shower of $hite. Cardiff is a great social occasion but what was served up in the stadium was absolutely dire compared to past years. No pre event entertainment? they've had bands, singers, tribute acts and all sorts in the stadium before. The Viking Clap was a massive embarrassment , Amarillo played twice and announced as the first time was poor, nothing for Nigel when they had hours to kill during track grading, the painful legends section where they should have all been sent out together instead of filling 15 mins with it, 2 interviews with Top Gears Chris Harris where he said exactly the same, Ellis announced at the tapes after he'd been on the big screen pulling out of the meeting. That's with out the suicidal track and the booing of Leon for pointing it out and the list goes on....... If this is meant to be an improved product I'd like to no how. 20k crowd at the most and doubt it will be bigger in 2023, we are definitely no longer the flagship GP. As they say in Dragon's Den for 2023 "I'm Out" better off having friends round for a bbq and trying to bear watching it on the tv.2 points

I was hooked form the very first meeting that I attended...everything about it! Standing on the terraces with fellow enthusiats and chewing the fact/arguing made it a great night out! Never bothered me personally the gaps between races...that's when we all became an 'expert' Team Manager! Don't go along with gimmicks which is what the general public with their short attention span now seem to expect. I attended two American Football matches at Wembley and I found all the razzmatazz all a bit tedious and it struck me that was what the fans were more interested in. The Mexican Wave was in vogue then and the spectators appeared to take more notice of that rather than what taking place on the pitch. Speedway when presented right takes some beating but, alas, those in control thru' years of mismanagement have allowed it become a pale shadow of its former glorious self!2 points

You may say it's a POINTLESS meeting but at least the promotion are trying to keep it going unlike us at Newcastle2 points

Having the BBC on your side helps, if we were talking women's or transgender speedway, they'd be on it like a shot!2 points

Absolute farce. Redcar should be awarded the points! Not sure Plymouth should be a CH side next season the way they've approached the sport this year!!!!2 points

For me the return of the bonus point is a good idea. But for they should do away with the nice try point, the one that awards a point if the away team loses by 6 points or less. Whoever heard of a sport where you are rewarded for losing. For me it has to be; 3 points for a win 2 points for a away draw 1 point for home draw. 0 points for a loss2 points

I just read a post from speedway GB about have a poll about changing the league scoring system for 2023, good god we are facing the end of professional speedway in the uk and they have ideas like this , I give up2 points

Just back from Cardiff. I have done every Cardiff GP but this will be my last. Cardiff has become too difficult, too expensive with little given back. Whether its getting there, hotels, buying tickets, downloading tickets ,ticket apps etc, all that hassle to be rewarded with an awful track producing an awful GP. And guess what my ticket app would not load when I got to the gate. Had to pay a visit to the ticket office with a lot of tetchy people with the same problem. Discovery have taken the GP back 20 years, 20 years ago we had a 30 thousand crowd and an unfit track dito 2022. When will they stop making mistakes ,SON in the same country comes to mind, BSI learned that lesson years ago. For me the Cardiff GP has run its course, maybe with a sub 30 thousand crowd it has also run its natural course anyway, how do they expect to sell tickets for next year on the back of what we have seen this year, they won't be getting my money I'd be surprised if they are making any money on this event with the costs involved, can't see discovery sucking this up for ever. Over and out2 points

The proposed change is only for Championship fixtures!! Premiership can keep their Golden Heats which would usually (not always) favour the home side!! Where the Championship leads, other leagues often follow..................!!1 point

Aggregate points seriously favour the technical tracks. Lets keep it simple 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw And let’s scrap tactical’s as well Just keep Golden heats for aggregate ties1 point
-
Let's be honest there's so much more wrong with speedway than the points system. Tinkering yet again, green helmet anyone. The fiasco Saturday has seriously got me wondering why I bother and I don't normally do moaning. Lucky I have a track on my door step or I don't think I'd bother. Was going to Oxford for first time tomorrow since it re opened but il Keep money for the pub instead1 point

I've not attended the Cardiff SGP for some years now. The town is over expensive & Hotels are able to make up phone number prices for the weekend. The racing has been poor most years but that can be said of many GP venues. But most disapointing is that Britain has not seen a World Champion crowned. In more recent years I have been to Pardubice, Czech Republic for the weekend of the Golden Helmet. I have seen terrific U21 finals on the Friday night followed by an international U21 event on Saturday with 6 rider races OK the flat track I could miss then on the Sunday the Golden Helmet itself with all the glitz & glam you would expect at trooping the colour & if your still keen on the way home on the Monday The Tomicek Memorial meeting at Prague. I go with a friend & we normally pay under £400 each for flights, Car Hire, Hotels & Tickets, With food & beer maybe £500. If you've had enough of 2 nights in Cardiff & 16 riders in 23 races try 3 Nights in Pardubice 76 riders in 74 races plus the Flat Trackers. go for longer & spend less money.1 point

Typical BSP thinking. "OK lads. Shall we get out there and promote the sport to the millions who don't know it exists?" "That sounds like a lot of work boss" "Well, what about if we take the best rule change we've made in recent history and just reverse it for a laugh?" "hear, hear"1 point
-
The present system is the best it has been for years. Aggregate point will mean technical tracks will reap the benefit. What do we want to see? last heat deciders or 60-30 romps? The 2 point away draw is also the right score as what is the point of getting a bonus point for losing within 6 then getting it taken off you because you drew! PLEASE, DO NOT GO DOWN THE ROUTE OF THE PREMIERSHIP! GOLDEN HEAT FOR DRAW!1 point

I say this as someone who has lived in London and has great affection for the place. Wembley (the area) is a sh**hole and the stadium is soulless. It's a place trading on its name and very little else. Its not even the best venue in North London, never mind the UK.1 point

I think Klima had the best game plan1 point

There shouldn’t be. If you can’t put the ‘entertainment of the racing product first’ then you will never continually grow the sport as the spectacle won’t be there. It’s all well and good picking these nice stadiums in City centre locations, but if the track and racing are garbage the TV audience won’t be attracted. There lies the problem with the organisers, their picking good cities/locations but they’ve completely compromised the racing which won’t attract many back or support growth in global TV numbers. It needs a balance of stadia/racing quality.1 point

Ok, lets look at probably the daftest fixture ever ridden in British Speedway, and that takes some beating... Pretend Plymouth vs Pretend Birmingham, both teams made up of riders pretending to replace a rider pretending to ride for a pretend club: Pretend Plymouth: 1. Richie Worral: Kings Lynn & Leicester pretending to be Ben Barker: Plymouth & Ipswich (+Wetherspoons) 2. R/R for Alfie Bowtell: Plymouth & Kent 3. Lewis Kerr: Kings Lynn (at the time) & Redcar pretending to be Ed Kennett, who was pretending to be a Speedway rider 4. Danyon Hume: Ippo (at the time?) & Glasgow pretending to be MPT: Plymouth & Peterborough 5. Josh Pickering: Kings Lynn & Edinburgh pretending to be Hans Andersen: Plymouth & Peterborough 6. Ben Morley: Plymouth & Kent 7. Harry McGurk: Plymouth & Belle Vue Pretend Birmingham: 1. Kye Thomson: Edinburgh pretending to be Claus Vissing, who was pretending to be a Birmingham rider 2. Jacob Hook: Edinburgh pretending to be Josh Auty? 3. R/R for Stefan Nielsen: Birmingham... but wasn't there 4. Broc Nicol: Glasgow pretending to be Ashley Morris? 5. Justin Sedgmen: Birmingham & Sheffield 6. Lee Complin: Armadale pretending to be James Shanes: Birmingham & Mildenhall 7. James Pearson: Birmingham! Woo Hoo! an actual Birmingham rider! ... I'm going for a lie down1 point
