Cardiff should be taken off the calendar. Crowds dwindle year on year, racing awful. SGPGB should be at Belle Vue, end of11 points

Its the riders imo, they only know one way now, and thats completely flat out. And thats how speedway is, even jason crump is saying how it is really, “wev ridden worse” Todays riders have no track craft at all, they all prepare these super fast bikes to go 110% and everything is all about speed, and that just isnt good ingriediance for great speedway. I blame the bikes and the riders the teack isnt brilliant granted but its unpredictable snd not super smooth9 points

The 2nd youngest rider dominates the meeting, goes unbeaten, gets criticism. Only in British speedway7 points

I think its a big ask for a young rider like Basso to try and slow a race down with his limited experience. Asking for carnage. He has to be one of the favourites for SGP2 on Sunday.6 points

Look, we ALWAYS want it to be good, but sadly, it rarely is... I don't blame it on temporary tracks, just the fact that the machinery has "progressed" (and I use that term very loosely) to the point where the bikes can only be ridden on concrete, and the riders don't have a clue how to ride on dirt because of what the crazy power the bikes have. As I said earlier, if you TRULY attack the track (like Bewley and Holder did), you CAN make it work. As Crump and Hancock both said, there were a lot worse tracks back in the day - and I can only agree with them...4 points

Fantastic track yes, but even with a temporary stand in place, Belle Vue can only accommodate about 12,000, nowhere near a typical Cardiff attendance. Cardiff is an all day event with bars, cafe's and the fanzone all part of the experience. Belle Vue is in a dump of an area in Manchester called Gorton, well away from the city centre, which has absolutely nothing to offer travelling fans part from the meeting itself.4 points

Please Please Please move the British GP AWAY from Cardiff. That was the first GP I've missed there in about 12 years as it had lost its appeal and sadly I was proven right in my decision. The crowd level is no longer high enough to justify the event being held there & the track was disgusting & unfit for purpose as it endangered the lives of the competitor's. Disgraceful, embarrassing & totally unprofessional. So it's got a roof? The only other stadium is Warsaw with a roof. Get back to a track that isn't temporary & a stadium that will fill unlike Cardiff which is two thirds empty. Embarrassing attendance, embarrassing track.4 points

What we really need is a Great Reset !! Does anyone know where we can find one ? Build back better I’ll get me coat4 points

This showcase is a shambles, this should be a wake up call, tracks, engines ,tyres, admission prices ,will it ? Will it bollox4 points

You all miss the main point here, i dont blame any of you, you are blinkered speedway fans, but the truth is its gone too far in 1 direction. The death began when the 4 valve engines came out, then the laydown engines….. suddenly the bikes are uncontrollable and 1 bump and its game over4 points

You are starting to sound like a broken record. You would think it is easy to pick your place in a speedway race in the heat of battle.Does he just wave the 2nd rider past.4 points

In that case if Ellis is injured I hope he does quarter of a lap in his first ride then pulls out so that Brennan and Flint can have a couple of rides each. If a WC gets injured in the lead up to a GP the hosting country should be able to nominate another one. Anyway I hope Adam is OK and can ride.4 points

I can well imagine it would've been good to have been there, I probably would have come away saying the same as you, especially after the result, Dan's win was the big saver though, surely you'd agree on that. Truth is it came across on tv as an absolute shambles, there was almost no passing, the delays although inevitable were ridiculous. I do actually wish I'd gone just to see Dan's victory, what a proud night for him, such a lovely lad too, never see him lose his cool. Steve Shovlar posted earlier to say it was a worthwhile trip after seeing a Brit take the win, the atmosphere for the final sounded brilliant through the tv, you all made a proper racket, well done, glad you enjoyed it.3 points

Absolutely. If it's NOT performance enhancing, it is NOT being used to gain an unfair undvantage, so it cannot be considered cheating. It's just f*cking stupidity!3 points

I knew everyone would be complaining, but I had a great time. Took my son's mate, who is 18. He loved it too and couldn't believe how skilled they were. By the end he was booing Madsen for taking his time choosing a gate position and chanting "Bewleeey, Bewleeey" along with everyone. Sorry about that.3 points

If i was Phil Morris id say race, or dont if you dont, pack ya bikes up f… off if you race, get on with it and now3 points
-
If it wasn't for Bewley's performance I think you'd be hearing plenty of booing, those last 2 heats were a pathetic excuse for speedway, got to feel for the riders having to try and put on a show on that joke of a track. Hang your head in shame Phil Morris.3 points

Admittedly the crowd is down but still 1000s there making a lot of noise and atmosphere but Eurosport yet again fail to capture the atmosphere and the live experience, considering the big hoorah from Eurosport I’ve been totally underwhelmed with their involvement in speedway3 points

I’ll probably be blasted for this but Ellis says he had hardly any strength in his shoulder therefore was NOT fit to ride and he put three other riders at risk.3 points

Is it a ‘pr1ckish’ statement? It might be one you disagree with but that seems a stretch.3 points

Also Basso's mindset is to go as fast as he can. Prob why some crazy moments on track this season. Someone gonna have to tell him not to do that at Plymouth, otherwise there will be carnage.3 points

Is there an Albanian rider available? They seem to get fast tracked into the UK from both sides of the border!!!3 points

Cos it's not individual. What is the point him winning if Hume at the back! Be better to settle for second and help Hume surely?3 points

It is pretty poor I agree but it really only comes from the same people who haven’t yet got over him leaving them.3 points

Perhaps they saw it as dangerous but no problem with team riding though.3 points

So that makes it right to have a pop at Basso, you lot really need to get over Basso it’s not healthy. And as I say they were warned not to slow races down so just perhaps Ben was following instruction.3 points

Not at all , enjoyed his company last night . Was a pretty much gate and go meeting with very little in the way of passing . But it was an enjoyable evening in the sunshine nevertheless. Well done Redcar , worthy winners .3 points

Well at least Dan did his bit for my prediction. You really couldn’t have a nicer guy to win it ! World Champion for 2023. ? That’s worth a punt, he has that all round ability now and he could win the championship without actually winning a grandprix. Congratulations Dan, you won it fair and square2 points

What the 2 older, wiser heads. You've no idea what they discussed before the race. Humey maybe told him just head down arse up I'll look after myself. Team riding is a dead art, saw 0 of it in SON so why folk so desperate for it last night?2 points

Strange decision to tell riders in aPairs event,,is Team riding in 2 nd / 3rd not technically slowing the race down.2 points
