Flint rides Armadale as well as 90% of away riders IMO.Perhaps if you had signed a replacement No1 you would have nothing to moan about. It’s not although Kennett was ever coming back .IMO.You have done well out of his guesting slots over the season.12 points

So the club replaces a rider who couldn’t commit to a full British season Iversen with another rider who couldn’t commit to a full British Season Klindt And then we replace a British rider who HAD committed to a full British Season Kerr with yet another who can’t do a full British season Jacobsen - That just about sums British speedway up putting a Brit out of a job who put the UK first with rider that I just become available as his club is out of play offs and wants to top his bank balance up .7 points

Which is why Jason Doyle for example is worth his weight in gold. Not only turns up every week, but gives it 100% in every single meeting he’s here. We’ve had other top class riders dip their toes in of course, but you never really got the feeling they were giving it 100%.6 points

It is at the moment,,, haven't missed one at home,, went last night and already got tickets for Monday4 points
-
I thought he wasn't really gonna put much effort in and just ride within himself,,,, but was I wrong,,,,, he really does give it everything he has got,, and I 100 percent admire that.4 points
-
Too late,, I've booked ticket now,,, and being a bit vertically challenged,, whenever I go in a proper stand like the south stand,, I can guarantee that someone 6ft plus will decide to stand in front of me at the last minute,,,, so at least with a front row seat I know I'm getting to see what's happening4 points

Racing was as Kelvin would say out of the top drawer, Birmingham put up a good fight, great to see Connor getting in the points and Ben Basso, what a racer, he has sussed the ashfield track well and defo worth the admission money and more, sincerely hope we can keep him next year, the guy is phenomenal and so exciting to watch.3 points

2nd year running Leon scores 13pts and helps the Gladiators get a point3 points

Maybe the Plymouth supporters who doubted Leon, will enjoy their humble pie.3 points

I'd happily pay double admission money just to watch Ben Basso ride a speedway bike round that track . The lad is amazing3 points

Best no.1 we’ve had in decades, out and out winner, but also seems to absolutely thrive of entertainment too, absolutely box office, went up to lynn with my dad and uncle last night first time we’ve made the trip since the lockdowns etc and Doyle a huge reason why. been impressed with his integration and commitment to helping the other riders too, super encouraging hearing his words on Danyon in the programme a couple of weeks ago, along the lines of “Dan will go far and keep improving because he engages and listens”3 points

Metcheck and BBC saying heavy localised showers-that's why I am asking locals not someone way down south!3 points

I've never liked Doyle,, but I tell ya what,,, having watched him week in week out,,, I've changed my mind.3 points

You are right, the UK is way down the pecking order, in large part due to the Polish restrictions but for reasons of our own making too. While I see your point about Kerr he hasn't been good enough and can't complain about being dropped, the Play Offs are obviously long gone but I applaud the club for not wanting to let the season fizzle out, there is a cup to win and they owe it to those who turn up to try and win the league matches that are left.3 points

Totally agree. Best number 1 we have for years and years and seems to really enjoy being at Ipswich. We can see that by the amount of help he gives to team mates. Always looking for them on track too. If you read this forum Jason please sign up for next year. With the team we have now you can be almost certain that if we are level or close going into the last 5 heats we will win the meeting. For a few years we knew we would lose . Long may it continue but does depend to a degree on what happens in the next day or so with any planned changes Racing has been good for most of the year at Foxhall too so Chris and his team have to take to take credit for that to.2 points

As a Leicester supporter I'd be in favour of restrictions and if anything we're even more top heavy than Poole this year. Also Leicester need Birmingham and vice-versa so there's a self interest aspect as well2 points

You’re lucky yous haven’t been forced to run NL riders for him as that’s what you deserve IMO as every man and their dog know he’s not injured and this was the plan all along.2 points

Lewi has had 10 years at Lynn. I doubt if any other club would of been that loyal to him. We have stuck by him over the years when i think many clubs would maybe moved him on. We gave him his testimonial this season as well. Being a professional, i would of thought he would of turned up, say goodbye to the fans and rode his arse off to show that the manager got it wrong. They have gone. But we are in a cup final, and our loyal fans who keep spending their hard earned money deserve to see the team winning meetings.2 points

Confirmed on Edinburgh FB that Barker, Palm Toft & Andersen all scheduled to ride tonight. Glad that Barker has been exonerated of any drug/alcohol misuse, and the internet vultures on this forum can now remain silent. Edinburgh FB have now amended Plymouth FB lineup to Tom Woolley @ 2 & r/r for Barker @ 3. Assume Barker still in limbo re result of lab tests?2 points

Glad that the pure racers don't have that attitude otherwise it would be a poor spectacle. Perhaps that explains why the likes of Lars Gunnerstad didn't bother on his visits to Cowley when he missed the gate or perhaps just didn't have the ability to make a passing move? On that assumption why not declare a race after the first two bends?2 points

Fully agree, but to keep them you need success, not being funny but people can almost see the outcome of a match involving Brummies as soon as the teams are named for the match, I can bet my bottom dollar if LR is team manager next year, half of this present team declared before a wheel was turned will be signed up again, and ex riders like castagna, Harris etc will be sounded out again, its not good enough I'm sorry, build a new young team who we will know will be competitive, the only 2 to me who have battled this season have been Sedgeman and Nielsen, the others have been pretty crap to be fair, Pearson as potential but in my opinion needs to be in a team where he needs a leader and tutor he does not have that at brummies, Morris and Shanes have no improvement in them whatsoever and will continue to decline, so it needs to be changed, fans will go if the team is competitive, they won't go if its the same old season after season, its the way I see it, Drury was great motivator when the Brummies reopened in 2007 and someone of that mindset needs to be appointed as team manager to get the club competitive again, if Brummies want mediocrity or below stay with what you've got, but no one will attend2 points

That has made me feel very old. I was 14 when he released it! I agree with you about everyone at Poole too and the same applies to most tracks I have been to. Riders always happy to chat and have photos taken especially with the kids. My daughter even has a shirt that was signed by every rider in the team in that year, I remember Antonio Lindback was very chatty that night.2 points

R/R and Rowe covering for Riss and Barker accumulated a total of 3 points, we done incredibly well to keep that winning run going. King the main reason for that. Good lad is Danny so it’s lovely to see him riding himself back to form. It’s been coming the last few weeks.2 points

Everyone at Poole , management, officials, riders & fans, have always made me feel extremely welcome despite living 192miles away and never having lived in the area.2 points

TBH, moving the traps wasn't hard and actually made the job easier (own goal), pity they hadn't insisted on it years ago!!!,,, the moving of the pin kerb, however, was a right little gem tho. Although the process to overcome that little problem was well in hand before closure. Call me a cynic but, you know that feeling when someone is trying to p!ss you off?,,, just hurdle after hurdle.2 points

No Norfolk air left,Allitt has sucked that all away, well he's deflated me anyway like most of the Lynn faithful.2 points

Maybe some fall out from this will also be to run the meeting earlier in the season? Well before the GP itself... The first reason being the obvious one that it could still be concluded if it got rained off, without recourse to "in the event of" regulations.. And the other being the winner gets a decent amount of time to prepare for the GP itself.. It is a huge opportunity for riders, and this year, whoever won it, it wouldn't leave them much time for bike prep when they need top kit, gaining extra sponsors wanting to be seen around the globe, and planning how to actually look after sponsors on the night... Lots to do logistically so the more prep time the better..2 points

Got back home from Owlerton Stadium about 20 minutes ago. Yes I went there thinking the weathers great, track should be in great shape and looking forward to some good racing! I don't do social media (Facebook), I do look at the clubs website prior to meetings when the weathers bad or riders are injured, if at Sheffield or else where. I also occasionally look on here, on the run up to some meetings. But this week I've been busy and didn't. I wasn't the only person to turn up there this evening as a steady stream of cars came into the car park, with drivers and passengers having puzzled looks on their faces, whilst I was on my phone checking the clubs website. I saw three men (obviously not wise) standing in the car park, shrugging their shoulders whilst in conversation about the situation. I do hope that none of them had travelled from Wolverhampton, but they will have come from far and wide. I've been going to Sheffield speedway on and off since I was 10 years old and with more than half a century gone I can't remember a season like this one. The COVID season last year ran better than this one. I've had a season ticket for the last 7 years, but I won't be getting one next year. The club have the email addresses of all the season ticket holders and probably their phone numbers as well on record. Wouldn't it have been a thought to send a message to ALL regarding what was happening. I've had radio Sheffield on today and heard the news twice but don't recall hearing about the meeting being off - was it on the radio? All I can say is that the contractors are to blame for the damage, but the club have to take most, if not all the responsibility for getting the word out there that the meeting was off and as far as I'm concerned they didn't do enough.2 points

Great news for the Brummies, hopefully 2023, will see a new complete team built and not based around riders who have previously rode for the Brummies, Shanes, Morris, Castagna no thankyou, not even Harris or Ellis, start afresh and let the Brum fans choose their own hero, like Blue jam said earlier the last hero was Jason Lyons, have Brummies had anyone so popular since, I don't think so, give Brummies a decent team capable of challenging for honours the fans will turn up, give them rubbish no one will turn up, that's why I say don't build a team around people like the ones I have mentioned, it needs to be a fresh start and that Includes the present team manager a new manager with fresh ideas is needed , they are simply not good enough and always use the same excuses when things are not good, the fans are sick of seeing a team built on previous failures2 points

Yep sounds like he wasn't happy for whatever reason, maybe the grippy track, the pressure of riding for his local club, possibly a personality clash with someone? Although Allitt and Brady were in the pits with him at the British Final. If you're not happy in your work surroundings you won't perform as has been seen this year. Perhaps a clean break might be best for both parties going forward.1 point

We watched them try to fix an airbag which took an hour or so. Maybe they'll have the fence fixed by end of next season1 point

Ellis was and still is 2021 British Champion. As regards the rules for the 2022 British championship there were only two options within the rules: 1] declare a result using countback regulations, or 2] abandon without a result with the intention to rerun at a later date It appears nobody was happy with option A which would have meant drawing of lots. The choice of Cardiff wildcard is a separate matter and the SCB made a pragmatic and reasonable decision in picking Ellis. PS No lots were involved in 1977 European Junior Championship. Scores after 12 heats: Busk 9, Owen 8, Collins 7. 2005 on the other hand....1 point
