  1. I still can`t get over the fact that GB only had 2 riders in the pits ready to race !! Imagine the final - big crash Aussie excluded, 1 Brit injured can`t ride. Other Aussie wins race we lose 4-3. If 3rd rider available we win 5-4. Someone needs to ask questions to the GB management team.

  2. I'm confused... For many years, Britain struggled to provide genuine world-class riders - at any level. Currently, we have three SGP riders in the World's Top 11 - Woffinden, Lambert, and Bewley. We have one of the World's leading under-21 riders - Brennan. Woffinden, Lambert, Bewley, and Brennan were SoN Champs in 2021, and Lambert was top scorer on Day Two. Woffinden, Lambert and Bewley were second in the SoN in 2022. Woffinden was second highest scorer in the semi-final, and Lambert was fourth highest scorer in the final. Brennan led us to second in the SoN2 in 2022, and was the third highest individual scorer. Sounds good, eh? Until you read the BSF... Woffinden is an Australian has-been with a massive ego and no dedication to Team GB, and was putting on his "injury" that caused him to miss the final. Lambert doesn't even deserve to be riding in the SGP's, as he's not good enough. Bewley just gives up when he misses the start. Unacceptable, so I'm told. Brennan just "isn't on the pace". Team GB now stands for "GRUMPY BSF", and some people need to just shut the hell up, and go and watch another sport...

  4. Tai crashed Friday morning. Had over 30 hours to sort something out for a worst case scenario. And they diddnt. that’s not acceptable really.

  5. That`s rubbish and you know it- they knew Tai was a doubt long before Saturday morning. Tai`s bike and pit crew were on hand so it just needed a rider !! Vojens is certainly not in the back of beyond - Billund is near and Hamburg isn`t a million miles away. I used the final as an example- it could have happened in any of the 6 races and GB would have been well and truly stuffed !!

  6. So we need to stop Edinburgh taking a point to top the group. Son of god guesting for Craig Cook and Ryan second choice Douglas guesting for Sam Masters. Home win with Richard Lawson counting his guest fee in front of Blobby after the meeting.

  7. Gobsmacked that we chose 1&3 in the Final. Not to mention the fact that the Aussies looked very dangerous off 2 and 4, look at GB results through the course of the night... Bewley off gate 3... 0 0 2. Bewley off gate 4... 4 4 4. Surely you have to back Lambert to get over one of Fricke and Holder from gate 2. I really do feel like the team managers have thrown that away big time.

  8. I believe his morning flight was cancelled had to get a later one. Tbh I can think of many a rider wouldn't have bothered their arse once flight was cancelled so fair play to him

  9. Think what we could do if we had ' three ' team managers?

  10. The West Row track was in great condition today thanks no doubt to no stock cars this weekend and more favourable weather conditions! Unfortunately nearly all the crashes today and in most meetings were down to inexperience rather than track conditions. With the current sparcity of riders in current times the standard of the National League at the bottom end has dropped especially when a number of riders are out with injuries. Jason Edwards got an 18 point maximum riding round like he was sitting in an armchair and got one of the fastest times of the season.

  12. After Friday that was very satisfying . Predictably Ully and the porn star had another coming together, shame we lost our captain after the rerun . But it didn't really inconvenience us too much . Sheffield it is then , though I think the three teams having a home leg would be better reward for winning their groups

  13. If there was a pot of gold in the person trying to open a track, then land would appear everywhere, no matter what objections or how many houses or whatever is around it, it would happen I’ve seen this first hand on more than a few occasions now, however as it is at the moment nobody who has the pot of gold is stupid enough to blow it on our sport, on the other hand there are a few willing people who want to open a track but don’t have the finances and a few land owners who would have it but as soon as the land owners find out there is no pot of gold it becomes a no go, as with life in general it’s about money and speedway doesn’t have any

  14. I certainly stand by what i said and most seem to think i`m talking sense. This was no challenge match !!! this was the major team event in 2022 This saying springs to mind fail to prepare- prepare to fail. in coming 2nd yes they got away with it. But in my view it was un-professional. As regards the early signing on, i agree it was early but that was for practice which was cancelled therefore did they ask the jury for dispensation to get someone there for a later signing on time for the meeting itself ?

  15. Right... For all those whining about the "stupid" scoring system, here are the points as they actually scored, and also as they would have been with the standard 3, 2, 1, 0 format. Actual Standard GB 32 22 SWE 30 21 AUS 30 20 DEN 28 18 CZ 27 18 POL 26 17 FIN 16 10 So, as you can see, the ONLY differences would be: Sweden one point better than Australia (but it wouldn't have changed anything) Denmark and Czechia would be level (but it wouldn't have changed anything) Is the scoring THAT crazy? Or are you just thinking, "We've always done it this way, so we should keep doing it this way!"

  16. Brennan has to be dark horse for British Title . iMO. Bewley will be the favourite though.

  17. Why? Right now Broc is in better form than Connor and Broc was a Sheffield rider before he joined Glasgow.

  19. Bit like having the individual Championship Riders Final at Poole then - not like it gives Danny King, Steve Worrall and Richard Lawson an advantage there then ?

  20. Sadly the attitude some of the promoters have towards fans who stop going is "it's your loss". I guess they obviously feel enough people are packing their terraces out that they need not bother with those who've had enough of it

  21. It was watchable only because it was close throughout, the racing was pretty much gate and go which is consistent for Vojens because it’s a shyte track for proper racing, clearly the rain didn’t help but it did improve later on. I thought Lambert and Bewley did very well all things considered especially after losing Woffinden but like others I seriously question why we went into a final with just two riders, that’s down to the management. I suppose cost comes into it but why did we fly Vatcher in for the SON 2 when we had 2 managers already there. If their were doubts about Woffy then surely Brennan should have stayed or Ellis should have flown in. Interesting that Tatum mentioned it was a good crowd, let’s be honest it was bloody woeful.

  23. Spot on. Dan had done nothing all night from 3 but not just won from 4 but smashed it so put Dan there and let Robert get 3rd. Bad, Bad call

  24. The total lack of accurate points analysis by the commentary team has been my bugbear all week. Surely next time they could take along a level-headed statto who understands the sport to feed them this kind of info? Points won off each gate, who won the relevant heat if it goes to countback, country X need a minimum of Y points here or they're out, etc etc. Someone like Dave Rowe would be ideal, IMHO.

  28. bah-humbug!. Does anyone have viewing figures for televised speedway in Britain?. I seriously doubt it breaks any records. Simplistic I agree but were not attendances healthier pre-tv coverage?. Has tv coverage helped the sport in Britain?. To my admittedly somewhat blinkered eyes the only beneficiaries of tv coverage are the Poles. Yes, I know I’m an old fossil, but I like my speedway as it was in the 60’s and 70’s.

  29. I never have and never will see the need for a final. Individual, pairs and team championships ran perfectly well for decades until some smart Alec decided the system needed changing. Has it changed Speedway for the better?. No, as far as I’m concerned. When an individual can finish 8th. then win the final, or a team can out-score the rest and end up second or third, it becomes the joke.

  30. But the first one isn't releasing a rider,it's to take Iversen's place. It is difficult to drop someone, but it is their job to do what is right for the team.At the end of the day your team needs to be winning as much as possible to satisfy the fans.

  31. I don’t doubt the club will make an announcement eventually. But the Klindt rumour has been around for weeks. The management have had plenty of time to confirm or deny it’s happening. I really can’t see why it’s so difficult to keep the fans up to date.

  33. Berwick don't have a license to get the kind of visa needed for the likes of Knudson, whether there is arrangement that sees the rider become a Glasgow asset I wouldn't know, I guess us fans will find out when we need to know. I believe Glasgow have helped out other teams with the same situation.

  39. Nobody seems to have commented on Olly Allens interview in the pits on Discovery+, after the meeting, by Scott Nichols. Olly had a face like thunder and said that he was " Really annoyed and will take a couple of days to get over it!" I assume he was so annoyed at the result, and I didn't hear him praising the riders, unlike Steady a couple of minutes later. Certainly the riders didn't score the points in the final, but gates 2 & 4 would have been my prefered choice. Wonder who suggested the 1 & 3 chosen, especially after the riders performance off 2 & 4.

  40. Another tedious night of racing (which I guess when four riders basically just follow each other all night , you CAN just call racing!!) only saved from complete boredom by the closeness of most of the teams. If speedway is to have a good long term future then those in charge have got to tear up the current way of thinking and stop sharing GP’s, World Cips etc around various tracks and Countries just to please everyone! They need to have them at the BEST tracks that produce actual EXCITING and passing speedway! If that means the same few tracks/Countries get them all the time, then TOUGH! Unless you are a die hard ‘happy clappy’ speedway fan people will get fed up with the rubbish we have seen (passing wise) in virtually every GP this season and big meetings like tonight. They should start by having the British GP at a proper, exciting track (Belle Vue, which after all is supposed to the “National speedway stadium”! Instead of at that tinpot temporary track Millenium Stadium Borefest!

  44. Been shockingly bad crowds and a shockingly bad track devoid of passing,... no comparison to Belle Vue last year. But proud of Dan Bewley and Robert Lambert. Terrific effort without arguably the GB No.1. World Champions last year, runners up this year. And bronze medal in the U-21. Not too shabby at all. (And of course the new world champions would be British if their grandfathers hadn't been criminals).
