It amazes me why other forum members wish to look at a member private life. Especially when its not speedway related!6 points

I've told the wife and kids that I'm going to spend the night on my own in a hotel. I need time to clear my head and process what is happening. We retained 6/7 of last year's title winners. How is this happening?3 points

Christ no, not even on a 2.00 average, I’d rather we ran with three riders in a heat.3 points

Would Crump be worth a gamble? If he finds his 2006 form, we could make a run for the play-offs.2 points

Rumour has it there has been talks with a rider from the ekstraliga and the talks are progressing well, this is from someone within the club at pboro tonight….. fingers crossed2 points

Plenty of grip on the outside for Bomber it seems tonight? Seems like the riders had the track tonight, but still couldn't do it. Farther time ?2 points

Well more praise for the track, Sam Masters says its the best it's ever been since he's been riding it, so much for the MX track2 points

If the meeting between our two sides at Glasgow a couple of weeks ago is anything to go by , then bring it on . Poole , Glasgow , Leicester and possibly Redcar are looking like the four likeliest winners of trophies this season , with Poole looking favourites , but the end of the season could be a bit special2 points

It looks like it's gonna be a lovely day. Hope there's a good crowd, good racing and the Stars coming away with a point or more.2 points

Can't you accept the fact that Berwick, like some other Clubs don't have the confidence in their local wi-fi network to either stream commercially all of the time nor offer card payments. Can't you give them credit for being 100% transparent about this. What's worst, being clear entry is via Cash or taking a risk, crossing their fingers and praying that a wi-fi signal will be good enough to allow people who think they can pay by card to be able to use a card. Who'd be the first to moan he drove 300 miles each way to Berwick to find his card didn't work because the wi-fi signal had dropped out. Fair play to Jamie Courtney and everyone at Berwick who run a tight and successful ship.2 points

i think that was the best meeting this season at wimborne road . another good meeting next week we hope .did noe expect to see drew out again after his fall again2 points

Great to see a competitive meeting,, well done to the Monarchs for providing tough opposition. Ben Cook, excellent performance especially to join Stevie in a heat 9 5-1 over Masters & Pickering. Thankfully Drew got up from his spill without any serious injury & came out for 2 more rides. Cud easily av been a broken collarbone. Hope he wakes up with nothing more than bruising. Great night's entertainment down at Wimborne Road C'mon the Pirates2 points

How old is Chris Harris? 40? Still a force to be reckoned with, especially when riding against Poole. A proper speedway servant to U.K. racing. Deserves a huge send off when the day arrives.2 points

To quote Jamie Courtney.... "Banks are escalating charges for paying in large amounts of money -- the days of 'cash is king' have long gone in sport" "Not to mention the time it takes to handle cash at the turnstiles and subsequent queues" "The benefit to the club is considerable, and we are happy to pass this on, in the form of free admission for accompanied U-15s, to those who support us by booking online"2 points

Just ten league meetings to fit in and over six months in which to do it...? With the FIM meetings scheduled in advance...? And fixed race nights of Monday and Thursday so no clashes...? And yet they still plan a meeting whereby the likelihood would be "top level" riders may be elsewhere ? And on a TV night too? I bet Eurosport must be mightily impressed at such capability from their partners...2 points

I dont think it's that simple. Bartosz goes through the inside, round the outside, through gaps that seem impossible. At Prague yes he could be blocked like that, but on a racing track he can pass on so many different lines. Of the multi-world champs of my era, he's the most spectacular to watch imo.2 points

Firstly Chris Harris was sensational tonight and worth the admission money alone. Well done to wolves on the win Nicholls, Andersen, Ostergaard and Jenkins 9+1 I'm sorry that is embarrassing. MPT isn't a number 1 but is a good consistent rider at this level but should be a 3 or 4 Basso is a talent suffered some bike issues tonight which would've seen him score double figures otherwise Other than Harris, Basso and MPT the rest sadly aren't good enough any longer. After last season I hate to say and witness it on track but maybe it was time for Dad's Army to bow out on a high as legends like Bjarne did. The season is pretty much over unless we can make 3-4 changes to improve the team and hit some top form. With rider shortages it's unlikely to happen I'd imagine.1 point

Magic! You post this link, which leads to a page headed (in big red capital letters) "These Are Not The Official Green Sheet Averages" and use it to back up your claim about Berwick's Green Sheet averages!1 point

Sadly I have to agree. It's becoming quite a theme at Plymouth. The track is obviously very small so too much grip would potentially be disastrous but for me the best meeting this season was the league match against Poole where there was some genuine grip that allowed some passing. I've supported Plymouth since their re-birth and found a lot of the early meetings to be dull as dishwater due to the slick track (and comparative strength of the opposition where only Scunny and occasionally Weymouth provided competition) but then things improved and the racing became superb. Sadly for me under the current track prep the track has become very one lined. I don't buy the argument on the weather because all tracks have that challenge in the UK, it comes down to track prep and that's sadly making meetings really quite boring. That said if Plymouth keep winning then I'm sure the fans will come back for more and that's ultimately what it's all about!1 point

I know it's not a double barrelled name but stick with me. Today being a bank holiday thanks to Betty from the big house in Windsor I was able to watch some trash on TV this morning. At the end of each programme there is a list of names that are refered to as "the credits" well at the end of both "Cheer's" & "Fraiser" an Associate producer is called Mary Fukuto. This opened my eye's to a couple of overused hyphons being used to make that surname a much different statement. Just to be sure I used everyones friend Mr Google & it seems that not only is it a real name but Ms Fukuto is a much decorated producer.1 point

You have to be very, very, special to keep repeating the same mistakes though, year on year.... To be fair though the year we had no racing due to Covid it was pretty well organised .. Ironic that when we finally get Grand Prix riders back we then plan meetings to prevent them from riding..... Amazing...1 point

Just been chatting to a young Monarchs fan at Poole station. He's off to Peterborough tonight & Belle Vue on Friday on the train meeting up with mates. Great to see. Both agreed that Monarchs should av got a point for their efforts. There is younger support out there who like to travel to support speedway & by train the same as me. The myth is busted Kieran the Monarch he be, just guided him through the London underground to St.Pancras. And he'll also be at Leicester's double header on Sunday vs Berwick so I'll see him there Speedway, the real deal Save the Monarchs1 point

Good meeting on a very decent track. Potentially could've done with a bit more watering mid meeting, but I imagine the riders have a say on that as well. Masters looked a threat all night, very quick especially against Stevie Worrall. Jason Edwards was a superb choice of guest as there is no way on earth that James Sarjeant would score 10. Pickering showed glimpses but aside from that, the rest of the Monarchs struggled. Couple of unfortunate moments for the Pirates. Zach Cook's bike dying when on what seemed a nailed on 5-1 and Kemps crash. Surprised Kemp came out for his remaining rides as it seemed so awkward. Special shout out to Nathan Ablitt. A small error cost him a point against Edwards on bend four, lap four. It is still his apprenticeship year, and the rest of the side has been built to allow him to learn this year before hopefully kicking on. ROTN, easily Ben Cook. His part in the 5-1 over Masters & Pickering in Heat 9 was amazing and his overtakes for a well deserved win in Heat 14 were outstanding.1 point

Perhaps they should be anxiously looking at getting some card readers then?1 point

Of course but surely thats the point. If there was 80% of riders making the transition from NDL to CL and beyond it would point to a very weak league to move into. Just using 6 years ago i can count 20 riders who appeared on the NDL greensheets who have gone on to make a notable contribution to higher leagues, thats excluding a similar number again to have made CL level appearances. Personally i abhor those who dismiss the merits of any lower league in generating riders, where did the current crop of Lions cut their teeth....1 point

There's no space between 'fly' and 'over' and no space between 'a' and 'go'.....also, it's 'has' and not 'as'....... Unless you use different lingo from Derbyshire ? (you started it....) P.s just a note to people reading this topic.... 'Turnip' took the p#ss out of the Brummie lingo on a previous topic!1 point

Nothing but a (very) poor attempt at a wind up. I've no affinity to any particular club but see the same poster popping up on several threads trying to bait different fans, a bit sad really. Nobody minds a bit of banter between fans, and there's been some good wind-up merchants over the years on here, but him and the Redcar fan are just lowest denominator stuff. Antagonistic for the sake of it.1 point
