Mainly because we are on here to protect our club & our Promoter & staff who receive plenty of criticism from posters without knowing the facts & jump to their own conclusions. When the facts are put in front of them, do they apologise on here? NO! They just hide away for a while.5 points

Brexit did creep up.on us... due to pure arrogance... the little Englanders who thought Britain was more important than it was and felt they would not be expected to follow the rules anymore in a rules based society were living in cloud cuckoo land... The forward planning was that everyone was sold the idea that GREAT Britain will be able to do what it wants once we broke from Europe... We are TCN's now as far as Europe is concerned... we lost our empire after the second world war and as much as I was not a fan of the European experiment I knew fully how hard it would be to extricate and untangle ourselves from the project... We are where we are and I'm happy to abide by the vote but we can't keep moaning on about how it was or how it should be... we are in this hole now and just have to make a fist of it... Europe wont be doing us any favours for a long time to come... certainly more than one generation... Just wait until Northern Ireland leave us and Scotland break away... it won't be quite Ukraine but there will be financial blood letting... however on the upside when Scotland do go independent at least there will be 14 more riders available for English clubs... We're doomed a tell ya doomed... Regards THJ3 points

You did not so long ago, "you'd need to ask the home club". Read between the lines of the statement too pretty obvious who it's aimed at3 points

I love how Glasgow are getting dragged into this when we agreed to move the meeting to the Saturday to suit the Monarchs but now they want to move it back after we have made arrangements to run on Saturday3 points

The track did look good and well prepared BUT a bit dry and slight dusty to me? Can they not dampen it during the track grades, or do the riders not like that? Firstly, well done to Jason Edwards, really good night from him. He definitely kept Edinburgh in it til the end. Good to see a young Brit have a good night. What a race H9 was, no passing but for Ben Cook to keep Sam Masters behind him for 4 laps, should get paid double for that! lol. H14 going from 3rd to first in space of bends 3 and 4 was so good, Nij the announcer said 'does he think he's Bomber Harris' !! Lol. H15 - Edinbugh could nearly have pulled off that 5-1, at one point on first lap Pickering looked like he was going to go through the middle of Worrall and Lawson but they managed to keep the door shut. Oh and Paco Castagna, I've never seen one rider been gifted so many points in my life before!! Edit- gutted for Nathan Ablitt nearly beat Edwards for a full 4 laps just locked up a tiny bit on last bend and Jason sneaked though. But you can definitely tell Nathan is improving every week.2 points

Got nothing to do with Poland. Main reason on the frustration is that Chris Harris will be unavailable to guest on Saturday.2 points

Just ten league meetings to fit in and over six months in which to do it...? With the FIM meetings scheduled in advance...? And fixed race nights of Monday and Thursday so no clashes...? And yet they still plan a meeting whereby the likelihood would be "top level" riders may be elsewhere ? And on a TV night too? I bet Eurosport must be mightily impressed at such capability from their partners...2 points

So all the Mondays we have free, and we ride at home and on tv, on a gp qualifier date. This sport does it's self no favours.2 points

Personally I try to defend my team when I think I need to, I don't defend them when they have bent or twisted the rules as they have done in the past a few times, I don't deny that but since we have been in the championship I don't remember any times when this has happened. I like the rivalry we have had over the years and the Glasgow Tigers rivalry is great and good for both teams and the sport in general I believe. We have been rightly criticized in the past for our bumpy track but that is not the case now. There are some who will always hold a Grudge against us and although we will always want to win a friendly rivalry with other teams is a good thing in my opinion.2 points

Last night's heat 15 Masters/ Pickering 5-1 was simply brilliant speedway 2 very good riders team riding & quick. Will be worth a look when it comes on line.2 points

As it happens i do agree that the choice is an issue, personally id like to see the meetings run the other way round, start a touch earlier perhaps then charge the double header fee for the start of the NDL fixture and normal CL rate from heat 10 onwards, offers the best of both to all supporters and gives the trickier track conditions to the "better" riders.2 points

I maybe wrong but we have had an ambulance for a number of years? As stated the problem was having 1 paramedic who was attending Joe after the Morphine. It was "sods law" this type of accident happened having 1 paramedic...As soon as "lack of medical cover" was announced all you lot decided a lack of a second ambulance was to blame, just looked, 20162 points

Sorry to hear your experiences but just for balance - how do you know it was a Poole fan that damaged your bike?2 points

I started watching Newcastle Diamonds way back in 1964 when Ivan Mauger was riding and followed the team for many years, I gave up on the sport when they introduced the Play-Off's which have done nothing to sport except giving a chance of a lower league club winning the Championship if they have been lucky in avoiding injuries. I had to look at my finances when I retired and bought a computer and use it to keep a eye on how things are run, as the years have passed I can no longer stand outside for any length of time and I see no point in attending matches as to me it has got worse as far as entertainment value is concerned.2 points

THJ is spot on about building the team with two strong reserves though. That has been the real clanger with the assembled team this year. Again a look at the riders switching to Longtrack for extra meetings offers potential KKH as mentioned, Franc? The tressarieu's still have something to offer as does Bukhave. Nobody is expecting a team to match poole but they are looking for a side that far exceeds the NDL.2 points

There's no space between 'fly' and 'over' and no space between 'a' and 'go'.....also, it's 'has' and not 'as'....... Unless you use different lingo from Derbyshire ? (you started it....) P.s just a note to people reading this topic.... 'Turnip' took the p#ss out of the Brummie lingo on a previous topic!2 points

Not on mailing list and don't do the cesspits that are Twitter and Facebook. So as I said poorly promoted as missed a large part of the support who, like me are in the same boat. Do you think there will be no announcement on the website or nationwide about that meeting? It's the first issue I've had in this regard, indeed has been no release on website since the Poole draw, not even a quote following the win at Berwick.2 points

Was harping on about the same fixtures last year. Wouldn't have gone to Berwick if it was a standalone fixture anyways. Just a grumbler who doesn't want to pay an extra couple of quid for the Leicester home meetings.2 points

I agree that £24 is probably reasonable. There are probably fans that not interested in the 2 matches and might only want to see 1 match. Not catering for them.2 points

To quote Jamie Courtney.... "Banks are escalating charges for paying in large amounts of money -- the days of 'cash is king' have long gone in sport" "Not to mention the time it takes to handle cash at the turnstiles and subsequent queues" "The benefit to the club is considerable, and we are happy to pass this on, in the form of free admission for accompanied U-15s, to those who support us by booking online"1 point

I paid for the live stream last Friday. Is there any chance of a refund? If this is not possible and assuming I am allowed to watch a future stream for free, can I pick the meeting or does it have to be the replay? My preference would be a refund and second choice would be a meeting of my choosing. Many thanks in advance.1 point

I am not a Poole fan - I bear no ill feeling to any of their regular contributors (unless they are responsible for reason 2 below!) but 2 incidents many years annoyed me and they have not won me over since Reason 1 - Mervyn Stewkesbury. - Remember his grand plan for saving speedway in 1991? Poole had won the NL for the previous 2 seasons and wanted to move back up to the BL. Nothing wrong with that but I suspect he looked at Hackney's attempt in 1987 and the lack of help from the existing BL promotions so he came up with a cunning plan where 3 other clubs would also move up thus increasing the numbers in the BL and forcing some movement of heat leaders, the problem Hackney never overcame. Fine - and you may say yes it worked BUT at the cost of the teams deemed not big or sexy enough to move up - 1991 saw Eastbourne close (at first), a substandard team at Wimbledon with only 1 heat leader before closing and moving to Eastie, a sub standard Hackney with a new promoter who proved to be out of his depth and the team closing halfway thru the season, both Mildenhall and Milton Keynes would not survive 2 seasons, with Canterbury closing in '87 and Rye House only having a couple more years, only Arena Essex (who would soon be a BL team) were left. NL speedway was all but wiped out in the south east thanks to Mr S - as a Hackney fan, I went from a 50/60 matches a season to a few weekend run outs on the M/C - which comes to reason 2 Reason 2 - Some un-names F***** at Poole 1994 I went to the occasional mid-summer match at Poole, it was a nice run out from London on the bike, especially if you avoided the M3 going down. I cannot remember the date or the opposition but I do remember coming out of the stadium to find my bike on the floor in the carpark, obviously it had been hit by a car, fairing was smashed, paintwork scratched as if it had been dragged and worst of all the front forks had been damaged. I called out the breakdown people who took one look at it and told me the front wheel was cracked so there was no way it could be ridden back to Kent as it could potentially collapse at any moment. Things got worse as the garage who had insured me had made a mistake on the insurance and insured it pre customisation which meant I ended up spending a fortune getting the bike resprayed in Embassy Blue. OK my fault on that one for not double checking but whoever knocked the bike over just drove off - no exchange of numbers/note left, nothing. So that's my reasons - I realise it's a long time ago and my feelings for Poole have mellowed through the years from pathological hatred to a smug smile when things don't quite go right - I bear no malice to any Poole bloggers, indeed I find them quite entertaining in their own way when they are defending their team Rant over -feel better for that1 point

I used to have BT sport but binned it a while back , MotoGP was the only thing I really missed . I'm hopeful that MotoGP will move to Eurosport and join WSBK and British Superbikes along with Speedway. Making it the channel of choice for two wheeled action1 point

Interesting, but untrue. Reference to the referee's official report to the SCB on Berwick's double-header on June 5th last year -- endorsed by SCB Track Inspector Mick Bates, who was in attendance -- tells us that 30 heats (plus one re-run) were completed by 21.15, well ahead of the curfew. Dust? Yes, on what the report observes was a dry, sunny June evening, dust appeared after Heat 6, but was controlled. What you imply was a meeting being rushed through to meet a curfew was in fact a meeting of 31 starts which was briskly and efficiently presented.1 point

You continually miss the point that is the 2nd tier hasn’t gotten stronger the top tier has gotten weaker Why should 2nd tier clubs/fans suffer for this, your way of thinking would be a constant race to the bottom with clubs that have no ambition dictating to those that do. I will not disagree for 1 second that the British league structure works in its current form but for me the blame on that lies purely at the top table and they should be the ones making the changes and taking the risks. Watering down the second tier to make the top tier look stronger achieves nothing on that front.1 point

Another issue that a few branches of motorsport, not just speedway, is having problems with - availability of volunteers with the right skills and training to get meetings run safely.1 point
