  2. What? No! No! No! When did that attitude start? Winning at all costs has to be the mantra. ... There are massive competitions out there to be won, which deliver untold rewards... Three Div One Heat leaders is the minimum requirement for any self respecting Div Two team... And if some clubs cannot achieve that then tough, they all have the same points limit... Although reaching somewhere near that points limit might be difficult without Div One heat leaders, I would imagine, so maybe a tiny flaw in the cunning plan there, but anyway, enough of this "bolshy talk"... Hammering the (far too many), also rans has to be the target.... So some can rejoice in so many famous victories by massive margins... Happiness used to be 40-38... Now it's 60-30.... Are you going to let the Promoters know the fans want to see close matches? If so, break it to them gently as it will obviously come as a monumentally huge shock to some.......

  6. I can understand how you feel. Flicking through the Star again this morning, I can see other 'Eastbourne riders' picked out. This must really heighten the sadness down on the south coast. Hope you are back in 2023 but speedway will need a sort out if there are to be enough riders to go round. Where would Oxofrd have been this year in the Eagles and Kent Kings had run?

  7. That will be correct, PL (5.47, 2019) converted X 1.5.

  8. True, some people prefer it if they think there is a high chance they are going to win. But obviously not Leicester fans if the crowd was low! Also meetings against Glasgow, Poole and Redcar etc will have higher attendance as less predictable.

  9. I enjoyed the coverage, more down to earth than the over production hype you get with Sky/BT and no constant interruptions with ad breaks. Meeting kept flowing and I imagine unlike “TV meetings” when there is a threat of rain, they WILL get on with it without some director or other person in charge, insisting they need to pan it out over two hours. Another touch I really like is being able to download the match day score chart as would be printed in a program, it’s a nice touch and maintains that interaction that you would get from being there in person. Some minor things that will need polishing, but that will come naturally with time. Looking forward to seeing how the season unfolds, as a neutral staved of speedway since Lakeside folded.

  15. The people like a close meeting. Some fans won't go if they think it is going to be one sided.

  16. Scunny's gating was a in the main a match for the home team. Hence there was quite a lot of passing by the home septet which meant it was more enjoyable than the score suggests. At this very early stage it looks like the usual suspects at the top of the league again. The cold weather probably hit the attendance as much as Scunny's previous recent scores here.

  23. Exactly. 6 teams racing each other once is 6 x 5 / 2 = 15 heats. That would be perfectly fair, although they're bound to want to add a semi and a final Don't understand why the OP would want to add a seventh team. That would need 7 x 6 / 2 = 21 heats before the semi and final, which would be too long.

  28. Bet365 didn’t offer anything at all last year and looks to still be the case this year. They offer Premiership from over here and then Esktraliga and Division 1 from Poland aswell as the top tier in Sweden and the occasional Danish match, as well as GPs and SEC.

  29. So very sorry to hear about this Mimmo. If I was in the area, I'd love to be able to drop you off at the front door of the stadium a couple times a year, just so you can enjoy your meetings at Peterborough again. It's a track I've never visited RIP to your wife

  30. Berwick are a decent team this season so should do well at home and against the poorer team run up a big score, as happened last night. Every home rider won at least one race and as first meetings go this was a job well done by the home side, I am sure there will be tougher tests to come. Birmingham looked a team who are going to struggle, sad to see how poor Josh Auty was. I know he has had his troubles but he looked a shadow of the rider who was a good scorer at Championship level not so long ago. Hopefully he gets his equipment sorted or there will be a decision to make from the Birmingham management, not unless the rider the decision for them.

  31. Teams getting hammered away isnt necessarily bad for their business to be fair... Putting together a team to win at home most weeks, and compete closely against the better teams, isnt the worst plan in the world to save money but also keep your income at its optimum.. Conversely. I hope the "too strong" teams that have been put together, that will batter the others at home and win a fair few on their travels, (by some big margins too I would think), have enough to keep paying out the big money their riders will be earning... Workington the classic example of big home wins, and (even though unexpected), big away wins, costing them thousands... And lots of big home wins can not only cost a lot but also can REDUCE attendances as "weak teams" visiting can sometimes get a swerve from some of the patrons.. Especially mid to late season if play off spots are already 100% secured, meaning some matches as pretty much "dead rubbers" given no relegation fight for the opposition..

Jason Edwards (Mildenhall) 8.84 Luke Crag (Berwick) 6.41 Nathan Ablitt (Belle Vue) 6.29 Sam McGurk (Belle Vue) 5.25 George Rothery ( Armadale) 4.92 Ben Trigger (Plymouth) 3.57 Luke Killeen (Oxford) 3.00 Total 38.28 I had a team ready at 35.00 so with a little bit of juggling I managed to find a few more points. Lets hope all the boys stay injury free this year.

  38. The truth is bv has run up serious huge debts and losing over £100k each year. Guess these too riders each cost over £2500 each plus plus per meeting. As a business the way things are speedway just don’t work. More cash going out than cash coming in, result the sport is bust.

  39. Would Zagar cost more than Bewley, or even Woffy?. And how much could it cost them in lost gate receipts if fans stay away thinking they are not competitive enough?

  40. Its incredibly slow to load compared with other websites and in fact other Club websites that work off the same platform. It is a work in progress no doubt but not a good first impression on the first time visitor if you have to wait 30 seconds for a page to fully load (before anyone asks, I have compared this with numerous other sites that load in a split second so not my PC or connection I'd suggest)

  41. I thought the streaming was good over all. Commentating live isn't easy, I thought they did ok, but as has been mentioned a little more homework wouldn't go a miss. They will soon sort out the gremlins. Unfortunately the track was very one line, although it produced a few good races. I'm not sure what Berwick can take from this, Brummies are very weak, and against a stronger side, I think Berwick would have struggled. I wouldn't be surprised if The Brummies don't see the season out. All in all I enjoyed the coverage and am looking forward to the rest of the season.

  42. They had agreed a deal with Bewley who as a GP rider would not have been cheap so Zagar would be in the similar pay scale so they obviously can do it…and with a top 5 with Etheridge and Allen in it they are going to have a fan drop off so Zagar would definitely stop that and attract others
