The number 8 is really just a pr stunt along with the Premiership junior league to make people think they're doing something to promote the up and coming riders instead of putting more effort into a proper NL, but hey....3 points

With the length of time waiting for riders I can only assume that Birmingham are awaiting work visa’s for riders2 points

Britain's top 3 have all chosen Poland & Sweden / Denmark over the UK. I'm glad that the top Aussies still want to race here!2 points

They can take the Togliatti GP away to somewhere else - rubbish track for racing. Nationalism is the source of a lot of problems in the world, do away with the flags etc, strip it back to just racers names.1 point

I cannot see a plaice for Bewley - Lemon needs to get his skate s on, otherwise he will find himself between a rock and a hard plaice and Belle Vue will be battered at home and away.1 point

No. Usually a heat, maybe two. Depending on how many have booked, it's usually done all as one group. You are taken on to and off the centre green as a group.1 point

They also charge huge amounts more in their equivalents of National Insurance that fund their "generosity"1 point

Yeah, I've seen that before - Other Polish tracks do it as well. I'd forgotten about that until you reminded me. You'd never get away with that in countries where the Politically Correct Thought Police have got a foothold.1 point

When I went to Pila in Poland in 2015 they had reduced admission prices for females1 point

Thanks for the feedback, it is greatly appreciated. These are our first efforts in the Podcast world so still finding our feet as such, but we take on board all comments, whether positive or negative and try to improve. We like to think as the season progresses it will go from strength to strength.1 point

Whatever happens in the UK, are we the only country in Europe to offer concessionary admission to students and OAP's? I don't recall seeing anything other than Childrens and Adults prices on my speedway travels in Sweden Poland and Germany. And by adults, that includes OAP's.1 point

Listened to the Championship Preview one today and really enjoyed it, I assume these are the first podcasts you guys have done? If so they come across really well as debut podcasts. A bit of polish here and there and perhaps a little more research needed in places (ie Waggy to Oxford in the early noughties) but a really good listen.1 point

As said in the post a foreigners journey at the carnegie theatre was a sell out, must be a good group to get groupies coming over from the east coast1 point

Quite agree. Getting an important meeting under their belt will give them some faith, and allow them to build on that and continue work on the spectator facilities. Great time to have a meeting IMO.1 point

I think it's the perfect scenario for the initial meeting on a brand new track, then one or two "open" meetings. Build up to league racing in 2023 with your official return!1 point

I don't remember any specific races involving Bernie but can recall him riding, as others have said a dependable team man. It was Bernie's bike that featured in the best race I have ever witnessed, Anders Michanek and PC fought out a run off for the Speedway Star Cup in 73 after the teams had tied over 2 legs. That race has been well documented over the years but I've never forgotten Bernie's role in ensuring we got such an exciting finale, Mich was having mechanical troubles and would not have got near PC but for the bike switch. Thanks for the memories Bernie. RIP1 point

I watched him give everything for Swindon and he was very popular with the fans RIP Bernie.1 point

Very sad news. He was my favourite Racer of the 70's and early 80's. Team riding with Bobby Schwartz was brilliant to watch. A team man through and through. I use to watch him grass tracking as well. A lovely man. Condolences to his family.1 point

Very sad news. Remember watching Bernie many times and was Reading thru' and thru'. After his one year loan spell at Swindon he did consider swithing over to 'the 'Robins' but returned home after Smallmead was completed afer a little pressure from Reg Fearman! Speeday couldn't survive without the Bernie Leighs...dependable team orientated loyal riders and something sadly lacking nowadays. May he RIP.1 point

This is sad news. Bernie was one of those guys every team needs. Totally reliable without being a superstar. RIP Bernie.1 point

Got to know Bernie quite well at the Lew Coffin training schools 68/69. Always absolutely determined to make the grade, it was a pleasure to see him gradually progress to team Speedway. Once he had done so he continued to attend the schools with the hire bike and was always willing to advise novices (or often as not help pick them up!). A hell of a nice guy with always a cheerful word for everybody. RIP Bernie1 point

More so than ever when your spouse has died, and in my case, I have not been able to work due to health issues since 1985, so only source of income is a very reduced state pension.0 points
