Hans Andersen at his best, with his team - player hat on could be great for Alfie Bowtell and really bring him on, as Paul Hurry did at Lakeside, or it could be the mis match of the season. You never know with Hans, but he has great motorcycle skills that go beyond just winning the race. I like them both and hope it works for them. If they are paired it will be a pairing I’ll follow closely!2 points

I don't envy you that bit of research. Glad you did though. Makes interesting reading. I kinda feel like I should have got Mort too. What is also says to me is what a stalwart Chris Harris has been for each club. I've seen him copping some flak on here many times. But he truly is a throwback rider, never giving less than 100% for each club. Plus delivering some of the most exciting moments in league speedway in the modern era.2 points

How bad must a team of 7 riders be to finish below a team of only 4 riders?2 points

I thought Steve Cram and Rhona were brilliant with the curling commentary knowing and explaining what shots were on to not on, and why. Once again Curling, after a major completion, will be the talk of people who never go to the rinks to watch it. Fascinating sport, played in a good and fair competitive sport, where the tactics and their execution are unbelievable. Pity there is no rinks beside me where it is played.2 points

Why not just forget about last season & let's get behind the whole set up from top to bottom & hopefully have a good & entertaining season for the sake of Newcastle speedway2 points

Since the 1965 season 10 riders have won 4 or more (three have five wins) British top division League Winners Medals. Can you name them??1 point

I dont think Scunny really suited Ellis i think hes ahead of Lawson especially at Premiership tracks1 point

Yes. Glasgow children and oaps is £12. If I take my 75 year old father to Berwick on Saturday and Glasgow on Sunday cost exactly the same. Hence it's "the going rate"1 point

I used to think that but the season he had with Scunthorpe a couple of years changed my mind , he was a credit on and off the track1 point

I think the trend for excitable commentary got a boost with the advent of subscription channels. I remember reading an interview with one of the pioneers on Sky who was presenting a pretty dire football match and at half-time apologised for the quality of the first half. he then got an angry producer in his ear reminding him the viewers were paying money to watch the match and wouldn't be pleased to be told they were watching rubbish. Even now Sky hype their football; it's not Sunday football, it's Super Sunday.1 point

thanks. I agree re Harris. In a world where many riders use league racing to supplement their individual aspirations I always get the impression that Harris puts as much into a league fixture as he would any individual contest during his career.1 point

Same at Glasgow. Additional 2 quid for seat in the stands. Think that's the going rate this year1 point

He changed to commentating on the final lap at Reading and was just as annoying.1 point

Don't like the idea of E-tickets this could probably stop me going in the future which would be a shame as i have not missed a Cardiff G.P . What these people need to realise is not everybody is into apps and not everybody has a mobile phone or computer.1 point

As a Wolves supporter feel a bit underwhelmed by our side this year, perhaps CVS and Adams have shown a tad to much loyalty to our top 5(but that's what they always do)for a realistic title challenge,so can only see a play off top four at best.1 point

It was OK all things considered I think attendance of both public & stall holders was down on previous years but with the issues of having to get tickets on-line prior to the event then the Covid & finally the weather warnings. It was looking reasonable at 9:30 but the weather went downhill quite quickly. We left just after 1:00PM happy that we had been but also happy to be on the way home before the next storm hit. No doubt we will be back there next year rain or shine1 point

When a race is in progress, you have to question if you need commentary at all - we can all see what's happening and after all we don't need commentary whilst watching live in the stadium. The most annoying commentary of all at the Olympics is for ice skating. Ice skating isn't really a sport, it's performance art, the same as dancing and is often an elegant and graceful spectacle which is ruined by intrusive commentary, and you can't mute that because you need to hear the music.1 point

Commentating is not a easy business , but Cram came over sometimes as stating the obvious. and a pretence that he was a curling expert.1 point

I have not seen much of the Winter Olympics but I have no problem at all with Nigel Pearson and Kelvin Tatum…at least they sound enthusiastic and try and promote racing to a casual viewer….and producers want enthusiasm in commentary now, times have changed from old style commentary so if you don’t follow then you are replaced.1 point

They have monitors to the side of the camera giving them information as well as an earpiece from the director plus trying to remember all the relevant action that's happened. It's quite involved and a lot different from commentating off camera. Rowey does a good job tbh.1 point

No. It was mentioned early on with his signing that we had something like 7.5 points, and someone mentioned Lee's average would be assessed as 5.00. It sounds about right given the time he has been out, and his capability if he gets his fitness and nerve back. We will see.1 point

If you read the article Birmingham looked favourites at one time to sign him he probably means Saturday track suits better than a Wednesday track1 point

According to details on the app terms and conditions the millennium stadium is now fully ticket less. meaning you have to have the app to show your tickets, can see this causing allsorts of issues to old and young people a like as we are not all good on smart phones, it does say if you lose charge on your phone the ticket office may be able to help on the day, just imagine the que. I have bought tickets for other older people, thought I could print tickets out. Now gonna have to try and help them download the app so I can send a link to upload tickets so they can get into the stadium !!! Oh the joys of technology give me printed tickets any day Also said tickets released around 3 weeks before the event1 point

I lived in US for 22 years until last week, now back home in Oxford. I would have given my right arm for the BSPA to find a way of monetising my interest. Would happily have paid. I think there are a lot of interested expats like me who currently generate £0 revenue for speedway.1 point
