  1. No it's Dave Rowe the commentator who is much better than Tatum - entirely different person

  2. I agree re their level... However, the goal posts were moved re the standard of Div 3 to protect Div 2, meaning the bottom league would have been a hard sell given the rent needed... The "old" Div 3 would have been "perfect" for a good few teams currently I would say...

  3. For Great VFM I'd recomend the Golden Helmet weekend in Pardubice, Czech Republic. in 2022 they will host the final round of the SEC on the Friday, On Saturday there will be the FIM Flat Track GP round & their U21 Golden Helmet event followed on Sunday with The Golden Helmet. That will be around 80 speedway stars from around the World on show + the Flat Track riders all taking part in over 100 races over three days. All on the same track. If that is still not enough On the Monday night you can get to Prague for the Lubos Tomicek Memorial meeting. This will normally feature many SGP stars + some that will have ridden in the previous events in Pardubice.

  4. One promotion already do what you have suggested but sadly are not in the BSPL but last season ran a successful season on the Isle of Wight. Hopefully in the future they will be able to back into the league AND allowed to provide the show they did this last season.

  5. Interesting to note that one promotion that are doing that is Isle of Wight. They certainly do 1, 2, 4 and 5 (and much more besides) and I am sure Barry and Martin would be quite happy to do 3. Any yet they have opted to operate outside the BSPA and league structure.

  6. Must have choice plenty riders in this buyers Market now? Also a month ago he was just waiting on 2 riders to return paperwork. LR if your going to lie make sure you are a good one lol

  7. Neither can i in all honesty. Hypothetically if Brum sign Kildemand for one meeting then sack him (for saying something mean about LR) could they then use guests for the remainder of the season? Terrible operating model i know BUT desperate times and all that

  8. Any idea how Killeen is eligible for the NL?

  9. He's more suited, and concentrating on being a Long Track rider.

  10. Who would have been the "we"? Who was lined up with cash to splash on buying the land, getting planning permission, building a stadium, providing the car parking, transport links and other infrastructure etc etc to these "brown field" sies? Granted if it was a field in the middle of Somerset it may be possible, there land is comparatively cheap. But inner-city land, with the cash and competition from industry and commerce, that's a different ball game.

  11. And With LR Desperate these riders will probably be able to bargain for better pay deals to. LR has his work cut out

  12. No 10.5.j allows a guest for a rider in dispute 'FOR A PERIOD DETERMINED BY THE BSPL'. Given past precedents and the wording of 10.5.k (riders retiring) which mentions 28 days the most likely outcome would be a 28 day facility. However it is possible when faced with the choice of extending the facility or Birmingham folding you could end up with a season long guest spot.

  13. Do you mean nationality-wise or ability-wise? In terms of nationality I don't know if Luke was born in England or Australia, but he'd qualify as British because his parents are British (being the son of the former Belle Vue and Wolves second-halfer Frank Killeen - known as "Fearless Frank" or "Frank the Fence" depending on how he was going at the time). In terms of ability, I don't know if riding in an Australian State Championship still allows him in the NDL on a 3.00 average. (presumably it must).

  14. P.s I might consider going to that ONE meeting if he did sign him? LOL

  15. Rubbish! Why 'state' that Morris and Nielsen will start as reserves, if you hadn't already signed 3 riders with higher averages then ?

  16. I don't feel any sympathy at all....LR knew what position we'd be in when the decision was announced to carry on!? It's the fans I feel for (if things go ** up?) built up to be let down!? But let's see what materialises first!

  17. With speedway all but dead here in the South East, the last race is fast approaching for me. I will support Iwade's return to the NDL, but my nearest professional venue will be Oxford. A costly midweek round trip of over 150 miles, and all the traffic and weather uncertainties that go with it. I always felt that when there was no local tracks left, the game would be up.

  18. The Div 1 pairs event that is being ran in the UK could also be worth a visit... Depending on who is there obviously... If it ends up with Scott and Bomber riding for three teams each on the night it gets to your track then it might not be worth it...

  20. Interesting reading here, a good starting point for 2022 the promoters would be to get their priorities rearranged maybe something more like this: 1. Promote & advertise your race meetings, set your gate targets much higher then break even. 2. Present the riders with a well prepared race track & put extra effort/cash in as & when when required. 3. Have a few pre-season seminars for promoters & presenters in "How to present a speedway meeting for YOUR fans". 4. Have clean & presentable toilets that you would be happy for your own Wife, Daughter or family member to use. "5" Delete from your existing mindset "Must get in the playoffs @ all cost". My 55 years in speedway tells me I will have more chance of seeing pigs fly then even one promoter taking on board what I've said!

  21. As someone that works in media sales and sports sponsorship I can assure you regardless of platform or sport a potential sponsor will carry out due diligence. This will include (but not limited to) looking at three areas of SM. 1 The clubs/sport official SM platforms, 2. Players (or riders) in the sport or club concerned, 3. Unofficial SM channels and the BSF would be included in the latter. So, speedway is no different to football, rugby, cricket, basketball, netball, F1, BSB etc.

  22. Tell you what...I'll have you a bet on that. Double it if you like? If there's less than 10k at Sunday's GP2 I'll give £100 to the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund. If it's more than 10k you hand over 100 notes to the same charity. Deal?

  23. They have less and less each year as the die hards actually die out. That's the hard facts of life with a fan base of "that" generation.

  24. Can’t believe Gappmaier is an expensive signing if he is riding in UK this season.Certainly would not put him in 1st or 2nd heatleader class.

  26. Ive always liked Mark Lemon , he was the rider who knocked Richard Hall off in ht 14 allowing the Panthers to get a 5-1 in the rerun against Reading in 2006 and then in 2021 he put Etheridge in ht 6 as R/R with Brennan against Harris & Palm Toft that turned the play off final firmly in Panthers favour , so hes had a hand in helping the Panthers to win the league title twice now ,
