  1. Lots of challenge about the operating model, and how change was needed to move the sport forward as he saw the operating model as something that prevented growth rather than something which encouraged and ultimitely facilitated it.. The sport does seem to lose far too many decent, modern thinking people all too frequently.. Whilst keeping many of those who appear "quite happy" with their lot...

  2. Adrian Smith in my experience of dealing with him is a highly gifted businessman..adroit, erudite, smart and honest exactly what the sport needs on the top table.....I do wish Lemmo well, he is a smart operator, knows the sport inside out and will do a good job at B. Vue.

  3. Massive loss to the club…..and to the sport, he was one of the few who kept the top table on their toes.

  6. Exactly! Why does this type of thread always sidetrack comparing the value to what is available for foreign speedway. Many who would subscribe to the new BSN service wouldn't care less about Foreign speedway. There is generally no affliation for people to follow a team abroad and most of the time it's foreign commentary. Not for me either.

  7. The latest BSN post on facebook offers the chance to win one of 3 season passes.

  8. And some mugs pay money to buy the weekly Compendium of Press Releases, masquerading as a magnificent feat of journalism?

  9. Think we have to think honestly about Belle Vue & British Speedway in general, I think they'll be in serious trouble come the end of the season. With the pandemic & now the 'Cost of Living' challenges for the next 5yrs minimum things are gonna be really really tough for the sport

  11. Tbh I don't see Palin getting many rides there, anyway unless you can afford Polish wages, can't ask riders not to race elsewhere!

  13. Well they don't make ticket buying easy do they. What ever happened to posting tickets out or at least print at home. Now you have to have a smartphone to download an app, not great for us older people with limited knowledge of mobile phones.Any way I have been through the system , managed eventually to download the app and complete the transaction. Only problem is when I go to the app it comes up "you tickets will appear here, no tickets yet." Is this normal or have others got their tickets straight away. Any help would be appreciated . Thanks in advance. .

  16. But that’s not how it works. The Star prints the teams’ press releases then has further contributions from the likes of Peter Oakes, Phil Lanning and some others. If Birmingham don’t “feed” the Star, then the Star won’t do their work for them.

  17. I'm sure Fanseat is excellent value for those who want to watch Swedish, Danish and French speedway. Not for me Jeff.

  19. I'm not really into podcast but this looked/sounded very good. I think it's the way speedway needs to go to attract the younger generations..........

  21. Ten seems a familiar number to me for U21 seeds without looking back at updates. Personally I would always prefer seeds to ensure the quality of the final is better, having the bigger names missing out isn't good IMO.

  23. Bickley needs to start showing some real improvement.IMO .I realise he is still young but he has been around speedway since very young age and should really be kicking on with the chances he has had over the last 3 seasons.

  24. Looks like it has been done on Championship GSAs. Seeded ten are top 10 and Bickley in 11th.

  26. Quite agree. Getting an important meeting under their belt will give them some faith, and allow them to build on that and continue work on the spectator facilities. Great time to have a meeting IMO.

  27. I think it's the perfect scenario for the initial meeting on a brand new track, then one or two "open" meetings. Build up to league racing in 2023 with your official return!

  30. Based on some tweets today it's looking like the Discovery Group are going to partner with BT Sport going forward rather than DAZN buying out the BT Sports business. That could be good news for those like me who want to watch speedway and MotoGP.

  31. Is it really a draw? same thing happens every year. Northern teams will go against the northern teams, midlands against the midlands then south against the south till we get a couple of rounds in. wish they would actually do a traditional draw rather than coming up against the same teams in the early rounds year in year out.

  32. Speedway fans aka homeowner pensioners are sheltered from the cost of living. Their homes rise by several percent each year. They also receive state pensions that rise by inflation.

  33. I received this information from Russia. Toloknov has a rather shredded foot and he had to have 2 toes amputated. Kuzhin has torn open an artery in which there was a cardiac arrest as a result of 3 litres of blood loss. However, both have been successfully operated on and are doing well according to the circumstances. Not the best of news, but could have been far worse. Best wishes to both.
