Lewis Bridger was badly let down by sponsored equipment when he re-started his career at Berwick, but made changes and dumped the guy (down south) who was providing the bikes. Lewis then bought new equipment from a GP rider, whereupon, until his season-ending crash a few matches later, he was getting better and better, and looking very much like a #1.4 points

Jason's crash @ Wolverhampton resulted in 7- yes seven broken ribs, when he returned he was still not race fit but still rode while in a lot of pain. On reflection Jason's 2021 comeback may not have been one of his best decisions BUT without that Wolverhampton crash would have been so much more of successful.3 points

Great read as always, obviously I love the Siggy article but also the Golden Helmet info. Good stuff....2 points

I'm not really into podcast but this looked/sounded very good. I think it's the way speedway needs to go to attract the younger generations..........2 points

100%... That's why many sports use a seeding system.. The actual number also reflects on the amount of quality at that level available too.. If you had say 24 riders at a certain level then you could probably seed top 8 and let the others race off for the other 8 places... When circa 12 or so are at a level, with the rest a fair bit behind, it makes sense to protect the quality of the final, whilst still giving those "not too far behind" a more than decent chance to progress via a qualifier... And, as always, if you are good enough you can still reach that final even if you feel you should have been seeded..2 points

Plus you'll have access to the previous 20 matches from earlier in the season as they say they'll stay available all year on demand.1 point

The advert says early bird prices for both monthly and yearly so I’d be amazed if you could sign up for the playoffs for that price1 point

Johann Weber was brilliant against the Russians. I think the big occasion of making it to the final got to him but he tried his best. Well done.1 point

Ten seems a familiar number to me for U21 seeds without looking back at updates. Personally I would always prefer seeds to ensure the quality of the final is better, having the bigger names missing out isn't good IMO.1 point

The last time I saw Sandor ride was in the snow at Cowley in 1975 when the Cradley team withdrew from the meeting which resulted in a 58-14 for the "Rebels". From that day Cradley's John Boulger was christened by the Oxford faithful as "Snowflake".1 point

Bickley needs to start showing some real improvement.IMO .I realise he is still young but he has been around speedway since very young age and should really be kicking on with the chances he has had over the last 3 seasons.1 point

Looks like it has been done on Championship GSAs. Seeded ten are top 10 and Bickley in 11th.1 point

I think I will wait and subscribe just for October at £17.99 as I'm likely to get 12 of the 30 matches for that price1 point

Tbh it's as competitive a British U21 I've seen for a long time. No bewley or Lambert who are a bit ahead of the others and it's quite a deep field. Palin should be improving on away tracks and kid I was really impressed with was Jordan Jenkins. All could be in podium hunt1 point

And the banks have lost nothing during the pandemic. All loans underwritten by the government are what is described as ‘zero risk’ rated so no bank capital is used and the return on the loan goes straight to the bottom line of the bank as net as profit. The conservatives have been irresponsible in the loans/grants to businesses during the pandemic and those in receipt are surprised regarding the tax implications and are pleading ignorance on this point despite most having accountants who will have given best advice. The tax payer in the U.K. has been ripped off because of so many unscrupulous businesses falsely taking loans and an irresponsible government who with such abandon, threw money at a situation without thinking it through and consequently leaving a system open to abuse. How many businesses owners have taken the open cheques from the government and bought premium bonds etc. Those who doubt this are ill informed, most accountants know what has gone on and when tax returns are completed, accountants are alerted as to why the returns are wrong and most of the issues relate to the grants and loans dished out willy nilley by the government to businesses who are less than honest. The current financial implications for the domestic market re price caps on fuel etc. are because of the failure to manage the reduction in fossil fuel use over a reasonable period of time and the investment in alternatives which has lead to everyone paying over the odds in the short term rather than a managed financial strategy over a reasonable period of time. The hike in direct/indirect taxation through NI as well as the fuel increase etc. should never be solely down to one individual of the like of Sunak who through family wealth will never ever be impacted by the hardship of the average U.K. citizen. It says it where the country has a top table as a governing body which is made up of the privilege few who the rules do not apply and yet claim to understand the current financial crisis but will never be affected by the financial hardship many will suffer. They seem to be really taking the p... out of each and every struggling worker/household.1 point

Commiserations to Glasgow but you did have an excellent group of supporters on Bend 1 who seemed to be enjoying themselves. Safe trip back home.1 point

Craig's had a tough year, with a lot of pressure as no 2nd heat leader since July. No brainer for me that he comes back personally1 point
